We're currently hiring a senior full-stack engineer to help us build the next version of FeedbackFruits. * We believe in engineers who stay close to the product: domain experts who pay attention to how users actually behave and use the platform. * Most of the work comes down to one thing: making the product better. We rethink each feature from the user's perspective and rebuild it on stronger foundations, together with our designers and product managers. * We modernise the stack as we go, moving from Rails + Ember.js to Rails + Hotwire. There's deeper technical work alongside it, on performance, stability, and the platform, all in service of a product that feels faster and more reliable. * Stabilisation and simplification are our top concerns, from both a product and an engineering standpoint. We'd rather fix root causes for the long term than patch symptoms, even when patching would be quicker. * Our long-term aim is to get closer to our users by shipping faster, moving from one monthly release with regular hotfixes toward continuous delivery. * We've also adopted agentic coding and integrations to sharpen how we work, and we value multipliers: engineers who raise the people around them and put the team before their own output. What you'll do: * Join one of our engineering squads and own full-stack delivery on the roadmap, from backend logic and database design to the server-rendered UI it connects to * Lead the migration of Ember features to Rails + Hotwire, which means understanding the existing functionality, redesigning it thoughtfully together with PMs/designers, and shipping something better than what was there before * Handle support escalations and legacy bug-fixing as part of the mix alongside feature work. The balance will depend on which squad you join, but keeping the codebase healthy and customers unblocked is part of the job * Contribute to improving our CI/CD practices and deployment pipeline as we work toward more frequent, more reliable releases * Keep performance in mind across the stack * Build and maintain integrations with Learning Management Systems using LTI and partner APIs * Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions, bringing both quality standards and a pragmatist's sense of what's worth the effort What you bring: * You have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience and Ruby on Rails is your home stack: you've shipped production code with it, you know its conventions, and you're comfortable in its edges * You write tests as a matter of course, not as an afterthought. RSpec and Capybara are part of your regular toolkit, and you write tests that actually catch things rather than just confirm the happy path * You are user-oriented: when you're deciding how a feature should work, your first instinct is to think about the person using it, not the implementation that's most convenient * You've worked in a legacy codebase before and come through it well. You know what to fix, what to leave, and how to leave things better than you found them without getting stuck in a refactoring spiral * You understand CI/CD well enough to work within good practices and to nudge a codebase toward them when they're missing * You communicate clearly, give honest feedback in code reviews, and take it just as well. OUR MISSION At Electrogenos, we’re building technology to make green hydrogen competitive at scale. We focus on reducing the cost and complexity of hydrogen production so it can replace fossil-based alternatives across real-world applications. We’re an early-stage team working at the intersection of electrochemistry, manufacturing, and deployment. ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a practical junior engineer to help us build, commission, and test electrolysers. You will be in the workshop and lab from day one, working alongside senior engineers on stack assembly, rig commissioning, fault-finding, and live test campaigns. You do not need prior electrolyser experience. We will teach you the electrochemistry and the process side, including hot caustic handling, hydrogen and oxygen safety, and commissioning procedures. In return you will gain broad hands-on experience across mechanical build, thermo-fluid systems, instrumentation, and controls, plus a genuine foot in the door of the UK hydrogen industry. TASKS * Assemble electrolyser stacks and test rigs: torque sequences, sealing, leak checks * Run experimental campaigns: performance characterisation, durability testing, component trials * Record test data and keep clean test logs * Support pressure testing, commissioning, and fault-finding * Build test fixtures and sub-assemblies * Plumbing and pipework: cutting, bending, fitting tubing, compression fittings, valves * Fit and route instrumentation: thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, level sensors * Trace faults across mechanical, fluid, and electrical systems * Workshop inventory tracking: consumables, spares, long-lead items * Source parts, raise purchase requests, chase suppliers * Write and update test procedures, risk assessments, and as-built drawings * Work safely around hot caustic, pressurised systems, and flammable gases ESSENTIAL SKILLS * Engineering degree (mechanical, automotive, aerospace, chemical, mechatronic), HNC/HND, or hands-on background as a machinist, technician, or fitter * Confident with hand and power tools, basic machining, and measurement kit * Solid engineering fundamentals * Basic instrumentation literacy: pressure, temperature, flow, level * Safety-first approach * Writes clearly and takes notes without being asked * Proactive and flexibility in a fast moving environment * Problem solving and independent research skills DESIRABLE SKILLS * Compression fittings (Swagelok, Schwer) or general pipework * Able to read P&IDs and GA drawings * Pressurised gas or liquid systems * DAQ or programming (LabVIEW, Python) * Hazardous fluid handling or ATEX awareness * CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, or similar) * Interest in hydrogen, fuel cells, or clean energy * Full UK driving licence YOUR PROFILE You’re practical, curious, and want to build things. We are looking for up to two senior lecturers in Electrical Engineering for permanent employment at the School of Science and Technology. Subject area The subject area for this position is Electrical Engineering. Background We are looking for up to two new colleagues to strengthen our teaching and research related to electrical engineering, at the intersection of electrical engineering, robotics, and autonomous systems. Topics of interest include control theory, signal processing, sensors, electronics and mechatronics; potentially extending towards robot manipulation, robot perception and machine learning. The positions are based at the school’s unit for computer science, which conducts education in both computer science and electrical engineering, and is home to the research environment AASS (applied autonomous sensor systems) which is a dynamic and multi-disciplinary constellation at the intersection of computer science, robotics, artificial intelligence, computer vision, and cybersecurity. The successful candidate is also expected to interact with the university-wide centre for AI, Robotics and Cybersecurity (ARC). On the teaching side, you will contribute to courses spanning the breadth of electrical engineering, from foundational to advanced level. This includes courses in electrical circuits and electronics, digital electronics, control theory, digital signal conditioning and processing, and electrical machines. Over time you will be expected to develop your own courses. Teaching encompasses supervision, examination, course development and administration, planning and evaluation. Teaching can be done in Swedish and English. On the research side, you are expected to publish in relevant international venues and attract external research funding. You will be integrated into the research environment with possibilities to establish an independent research agenda connected to the unit's general topics. There are also opportunities to take on leadership roles in research and education (for example, shaping degree programmes or leading a research team) and to contribute more broadly to the development of the unit's activities. Qualifications Those qualified for appointment as a senior lecturer are applicants who have demonstrated teaching expertise and been awarded a doctoral degree in a subject matter relevant for the position, or has the corresponding research competence or some other professional expertise that is of value in view of the subject matter of the position and the duties that it will involve. A general eligibility criterion for teaching staff at Örebro University is to have completed courses on teaching and learning in higher education corresponding to 10 weeks. Knowledge and skills equivalent to such courses may also be assessed to establish whether these provide eligibility. A teacher who at the time of appointment lacks such training or the equivalent competence, must complete the required courses no later than within two years of taking up the position.
