ABOUT THE TEAM The Core Infrastructure team at Stripe is entrusted with developing and maintaining the infrastructure utilized by all product teams to create services that underpin all Stripe business operations. This includes defining and executing a vision that ensures industry-leading scale and availability, and actively balancing these concerns with efficiency, latency, and organizational health. We are committed to advancing new distributed services and scaling existing technologies across the industry, in close collaboration with various teams to support their current and future demands, and various external partners in the open source community. Our infrastructure supports businesses worldwide by processing payments, managing marketplaces, assisting entrepreneurs in launching internet businesses, and more. The Infrastructure organization comprises teams responsible for operating system components, databases, caching, high availability, disaster recovery, cloud infrastructure, Linux servers, container orchestration, mesh networking, service discovery, change management, and network edge infrastructure. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Software Engineer on the Infrastructure team, you will be part of a team that is in charge of building the core infrastructure used by product teams which support our business. Examples include control plane services responsible for managing our primary database and cache infrastructure as well as building automation around managing cloud components for compute, cache, and networking. You will also build a great customer experience for internal Stripe teams that build on your software to power all of our products, globally and at scale. RESPONSIBILITIES * Design, build, and maintain distributed cloud infrastructure and platform services * Work on scaling, automation, reliability, and observability of infrastructure services * Operate your service, debug issues, and support customers * Participate in roadmap planning and prioritization WHO YOU ARE We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 5+ years of professional experience in a software development role * Experience building, deploying, and managing infrastructure on a major cloud provider * A strong engineering background in building platform services and/or distributed systems at scale, with a solid grasp of underlying operating system primitives * Experience developing, maintaining, and debugging distributed systems, including diagnosing low-level resource constraints * Experience with operational excellence and modern observability practices, including distributed tracing, structured logging, and system-level metrics PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience with popular cloud technologies — AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle Cloud * Experience with Go or other systems languages (e.g., Rust, C/C++) * Experience with Linux OS internals, performance optimization, and kernel-level troubleshooting * Experience working with Kubernetes clusters and low-level container mechanics * Experience in networking and traffic systems at scale * Experience handling critical incidents for production systems

The Verification & Test section is part of the Engineering department at BU Launcher Separation Systems. The key products of the BU are the structures that attach the payload to the rocket and separate it in space at a very high precision. The engineering department is responsible for all aspects of the design, verification and test of the systems, and it consists of 6 sections within Design-, Analysis- & Systems Engineering, Material & Process, Research & Development and Verification & Test. We are working within the entire life cycle of the product from the earliest sketches to the support right before the final product takes off to space. Our customers are both new and old space and we work with most of the large companies in the space industry. You will be reporting directly to the Director of Engineering and be part of the Engineering leadership team where we collaborate over the sections and disciplines and everyone takes responsibility for the combined result of the department. Your mission Responsible for the Verification & Test activities, with a proactive collaboration with the adjacent teams within Engineering, Quality and Production  Provides expertise to development and production regarding test, verification and integration  Develops competence needed in the teams and pushes for innovation and continuous improvement (know-how/tools/methods).  Develops and implements the relevant engineering processes within Verification and Test and ensures the alignment of these  Takes part in and actively contributes to the strategic work within the engineering department.  Has the managerial and leadership responsibility towards own direct reports, performing HR processes such as competence planning, recruitment, performance management, development etc  Is part of the engineering leadership team where all team members are jointly accountable for the success of the department  Has budget responsibility for the Test and verification section  Has technical responsibility for fulfilment of tasks assigned by projects, including overall efficiency of the teams.  Proactively communicates and aligns with adjacent Engineering sections for best practice and synergies.  Lead and develop the team in accordance with the company values as well as business strategy and goals to create high engagement, good work environment and positive team spirit  Develop and encourage the culture of diversity, equity and inclusion in our organization Your story Must’s: Experience from leadership roles, with an interest in leadership and leadership development, and good coaching abilities.  Understanding, competence and experience in relevant Engineering processes, tools, and methodologies. The team is a full-stack group of 10–12 senior engineers responsible for developing new features and experiences for our players in the Casino vertical. The core mission for this role is to establish new front-end capacity and set the standards and ways of working for that side of the team. OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: ESSENTIAL SKILLS Technical Foundation: Solid engineering background with 5+ years as a Software Developer and a recent coding background (ideally within the last 4–5 years) to effectively mentor and discuss technical issues with engineers. Leadership Experience: At least 2+ years of experience managing a full-stack or front-end team, specifically in high-velocity agile environments. Standard-Setting Mindset: Proven ability to establish new standards, KPIs, and ways of working rather than just following existing processes. People Development: Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring senior engineers through goals, inspiration, transparency, and trust. System Design: A solid understanding of scalable, highly concurrent, and fault-tolerant systems to support our Casino vertical. NICE TO HAVES Previous experience in the iGaming industry.
