Position Overview
Axelera AI is building the world’s most efficient AI inference silicon. As we scale deployments of our Metis and Europa-based
platforms through ODM, OEM, and CM partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region, we need a technically strong Integration Engineer
embedded in Taiwan.
This role is the primary technical interface between Axelera’s AI Integrated Systems (AIS) engineering team and our external
partners in Taiwan — covering ODM system integrators, contract manufacturers during NPI/production ramp, and component suppliers.
You will ensure that Axelera hardware integrates correctly into partner platforms, that production quality issues are resolved

Position overview We are looking for a Director of Field Application Engineering to lead our FAE function in APAC. Initially hands-on with customers, you will build and grow a regional team over time. The role is hardware-focused, supporting evaluation, integration, and production deployment of our Metis™ AI Platform (PCIe boards, compute modules) across OEM/ODMs, system integrators, and end users in industrial automation, smart vision, automotive, and robotics. Reporting to the VP of Customer Success (Belgium), you will collaborate with existing Axelera colleagues in Taiwan and with our global R&D and Product teams. Key responsibilities: Hands-On Customer & Technical Engagement • Senior primary technical contact for Taiwan customers, engaging from engineers to senior leadership • Lead hardware bring-up, board integration, and embedded system debugging on-site and remotely • Support chip-down design, custom carrier board development, and embedded Linux integration • Guide customers deploying AI models and inference pipelines via the Voyager SDK • Debug PCIe, power sequencing, signal integrity, thermal, and BSP bring-up issues • Drive pre-sales engagement and design wins across OEM/ODM, integrators, and end users Regional Leadership & Team Building • Build FAE processes, documentation, and support infrastructure for the APAC region • Recruit, mentor, and manage APAC FAE engineers as the team scales • Align priorities with commercial goals; contribute to APAC and global FAE strategy Customer Advocacy & Cross-Functional Collaboration • Surface customer feedback and roadmap input to Product Management and R&D • Maintain relationships with key accounts, distributors, and channel partners in Taiwan • Partner with Sales and BD on product introductions, onboarding, and competitive intelligence Required qualifications: • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related field • 10+ years customer-facing FAE or applications engineering in semiconductor, AI, or embedded systems • 5+ years leading FAE teams or managing technical customer-facing functions • Strong experience with embedded board design, chip-down development, and custom carrier board design • Experience with ARM-based SoCs and embedded compute modules • Strong understanding of high-speed digital interfaces, signal integrity, power sequencing, and thermal design • Experience with embedded Linux, bootloaders, BSPs, and low-level system bring-up • Proven ability to debug complex hardware/software integration issues • Familiarity with AI accelerators, NPUs, GPUs, or edge AI platforms • Commercial mindset; track record driving design wins through full evaluation and adoption cycles • Excellent English communication skills; ability to travel within Taiwan and occasionally APAC Preferred qualifications: • Experience with embedded AI or computer vision workloads • Familiarity with Yocto, Buildroot, or Debian-based embedded Linux systems • Experience with PCIe enumeration, MSI/MSI-X, DMA, and memory subsystems • Experience with production validation, manufacturing bring-up, and thermal/power optimisation for AI systems • Existing technical relationships in Taiwan’s OEM/ODM, system integrator, or AI ecosystem Location / Travel * Work fully remotely from Taiwan * You will be expected to have capacity to travel between 30-50% of the time, with regular travel to major hubs within Taiwan, to visit and support our customers * Some short international travel may be necessary What we offer: • Director-level role with real ownership and a clear path to regional team leadership • Work at the frontier of edge AI hardware with direct access to world-class R&D • Remote-first, Taiwan-based role within an established and growing local team • Collaborative international culture valuing technical depth, customer focus, and execution This is your chance to shape and be part of a dynamic, fast-growing, international organisation. YOUR MISSION As a Distributed Systems & Integration Engineer at Stark, you will bring together diverse software components into a cohesive, reliable, and scalable system. You will containerize applications, automate integration workflows, and ensure that complex software ecosystems run smoothly within our simulation environment. Your work will directly support the development of next‑generation autonomous and distributed systems. RESPONSIBILITIES * Build, compile, and integrate a wide range of software modules into a unified system. * Containerize applications using Docker and prepare them for deployment. * Integrate internal and external software projects into the simulation environment. * Automate integration processes using CI/CD pipelines and container images. * Automate the integration of new releases of dependent systems into the simulation environment. * Gain deep insights into multiple projects and adapt them for seamless integration. * Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure system compatibility and performance. QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience. * Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software engineering or system integration. * Strong proficiency in C++ and hands‑on experience with software integration. * Proven ability to adapt and build external projects to fit into an existing ecosystem. * Expertise in Docker, container management, and Ubuntu Linux. * Familiarity with distributed systems, inter‑process communication, and system‑level architecture. * Experience with network programming (UDP, TCP) and debugging complex system interactions. * Strong communication and collaboration skills for working in a multidisciplinary environment. * Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex integration tasks. * Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a structured approach to troubleshooting. * Very good English - speaking and writing skills.
