Agoda Homes—a core business line within Agoda—supports a wide range of non-hotel accommodation types including serviced
apartments, homes, private villas, farm stays, chalets, boats, and more. While these accommodations have always been available on
Agoda.com, today’s evolving landscape demands a sharpened focus on expanding supply and elevating quality. Our team builds
long-term, cross-cultural partnerships that create exceptional value for Agoda, our partners, and our customers.
The Opportunity
This role is responsible for expanding the supply of non-hotel accommodations in Japan. The role includes sourcing
and acquiring new supply, and combining on-the-ground insights with data analysis to uncover strategic opportunities. You will
communicate key findings to internal and external stakeholders and contribute to projects such as developing a host community
network to accelerate supply growth.
This position is based in our Tokyo office. You will work closely with colleagues across regional and central teams, including
teams in Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, and more.

The Opportunity: As the Area Manager / Senior Area Manager for Japan, your main objectives will be to develop and deploy Agoda’s Japan strategy, provide guidance and leadership to ensure the successful account management of Agoda’s major partners, and deliver on targets and growth expectations that are key to Agoda’s business goals. To succeed in this role, you will have excellent analytical skills, strong account and client management experience, a proven record of sustainable performance, and the capacity to lead, motivate, coach, and mentor teams. In addition, the ability to establish and develop valued long-term partnerships will be essential What You’ll Do: * Develop and implement strategies to accelerate Agoda’s business in Japan. * Demonstrate outstanding team leadership to grow the local business and consistently deliver on plans. * Implement strategies with top partners to enhance productivity and maintain a competitive advantage. * Establish and maintain robust relationships at senior levels, including C-level with key partners—driving partnership expansions and identifying significant opportunities. * Has the ability to lead a company-wide project with a few multidisciplinary teams. * Coordinate with top management on strategic planning and objectives. * Conduct market research on industry and Japanese market trends to ensure Agoda’s competitiveness. * Attend and participate in relevant industry events. Required Qualifications: * More than 8 years of professional experience at multi-national companies. * 3+ years’ experience in leading, coaching, and developing teams, with a proven track record in rapidly changing environments. * Relevant experience in account management, business development, or general management. Must-Have Skills & Qualifications: * Experience in sales, business development, or account management, with preferably 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably directly managing 5+ members. Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams. * Excellent communication and negotiation skills in Japanese (business to native level) and English (business level). * Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels. * Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions. * Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities. * Experience working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
