As a Cloud Support Engineer at Thought Machine, you're stepping into a technical role that goes well beyond incident response. At
this level, you're expected to own, influence and elevate how we deliver support globally, across both our hosted SaaS product and
bank-hosted Vault deployments. You'll not only handle our most complex technical issues, but also shape tooling and processes,
partnering closely with Engineering and Product teams to drive continuous improvement across the platform.
You bring a deep understanding of cloud-native systems and distributed architecture, and will become a domain expert in Vault
Core. This is a highly visible role where your technical judgement, leadership and strategic problem-solving will directly impact
client outcomes and platform quality.

The leader will be responsible for all aspects of the platform ranging from vision, strategy and roadmap to product delivery and service execution. The leader will coordinate with stakeholders to align business priorities and support engineering teams in delivering secure, high-quality software at scale using modern AI technologies. You will set strategy and standards for how we build, run, and improve our platforms and operational tooling across the engineering lifecycle - partnering closely with Product, Security, IT, and Engineering leaders. Success in this role looks like improved developer productivity, strong service reliability and resilience, clear operational governance, and efficiency in cloud and platform spend and close alignment with Sophos X-Ops goals. You bring enough technical depth to challenge and support senior engineers and architects, while spending most of your time enabling teams, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring execution against clear outcomes. You will have a strong grounding in Cyber Security, Cloud Computing and AI frameworks and development practices. You will lead and grow multiple teams and managers, fostering strong engineering practices and a culture of ownership. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Security, IT, and Finance to ensure platform roadmaps and operational priorities support company goals. This role is based in Abingdon UK with remote working and teams also in India and Hungary. Periodic in-person leadership and team collaboration and travel are needed.

Technical Programme Managers at Thought Machine are responsible for the delivery of complex technical programmes within the engineering division. We take a leading role in forming and planning each programme and support engineering departments that contribute to the programme’s success. Duties * Manage technical programmes: planning, setting milestones and success criteria and coordination of complex multi-team, multi-month engineering programmes. * Communicate schedules, priorities and updates to all levels in the company. * Support engineering departments to identify alignment gaps and reduce overhead. * Have a good understanding of the product and the technical skills to be able to dive into details to drive programmes forward. * Be outcome focussed and ensure everything we do supports the intended programme objectives. * Collaborate with large cross-functional teams. * Be engaged and energetic, helping to drive continuous improvement across the engineering organisation in a very fast paced and dynamic environment. * Develop tools and optimise processes to improve productivity and efficiency. Essential * Proven track record managing cross-functional technical initiatives within a top tier technology company. * Timely delivery is not your only objective: you obsess over quality, reliability and product value. * Understand a modern microservice-based technology stack (Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS/GCP) built on a CI/CD pipeline. * Good understanding of the full software development lifecycle (product management, engineering, testing, operations). * Inquisitive mind and is motivated by solving problems. * Self-starter, able to operate autonomously to lead large multi-disciplinary efforts. * Excellent organisational, written, and presentation skills building strong relationships with stakeholders. At Thought Machine, our Software Engineers specialised in Infrastructure play a crucial role in deploying and maintaining our cutting-edge software, developing tools and integrations with third-party infrastructure components used in our customers’ environments. The role spans across building mechanisms to automate and streamline deployment processes, to facilitating infrastructure changes in the data and streaming platforms which support our products, among other things. We build automation to provide an intuitive and reliable user experience to operate and integrate with Vault for Thought Machine engineers and bank SREs.
