The QA Group is responsible for maintaining the quality management system that supports our business processes, complies with regulatory requirements, and satisfies our clients’ expectations.   WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING We are looking for a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our team. Your role will focus on providing company-wide regulatory support to our project teams, spanning both medical and non-medical disciplines, as well as supporting the QA Director and Regulatory Affairs Manager with operational activities of the Quality Management System and related management systems. This is a great opportunity for you to gain experience in a variety of different market areas and expand and deepen your knowledge across multiple industries.   RESPONSIBILITIES Your responsibilities will be varied and there is plenty of opportunity for your role to evolve over time. We have listed below the types of things you can expect to be doing: * Use your experience in compliance to product regulations and quality standards (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016, FDA QMSR 21 CFR 820), to provide a strategic advantage to client projects while expanding our knowledge and experience of European, US and Asian regulations (for both medical and non-medical applications). * Take initiative in identifying and monitoring key changes in relevant international regulations, guidance and standards, and interpret and communicate what they mean for both the QA team and the wider business. * Lead communications on quality and regulatory updates and run internal improvement initiatives, owning meaningful contributions to CC’s global systems as a quality and regulatory technical lead. * Working alongside colleagues in QA and the wider business, support the fulfilment of external audit requirements. * Strongly demonstrate and develop your leadership and project management skills to facilitate the work done by client project teams. * Apply excellent attention to detail, quality assurance expertise and a collaborative approach to process improvements and the maintenance of QMS documentation. * Find pragmatic but robust solutions in problem-solving under tough commercial, technical, time and regulatory constraints. INTRODUCTION SUMMARY We are on the lookout for a talented and ambitious Technical Specialist/Lead to join our Security and Defence, Systems and Technology team here in Cambridge, UK. The role is within the Defence & Security Business Unit that undertakes the development of innovative new products across the entire product life cycle. The role will be primarily technical development for our defence and security clients within UK government, although there will be scope to get involved in a variety of projects for our commercial and wider public sector clients. Projects typically consist of early concept work, through prototype manufacture, to new product introduction, often surmounting considerable technical challenges as we push the boundary of what is possible. We combine highly creative lateral thinking with excellent technical skills and we’re looking for broad defence and security industry experience to help us form powerful development teams. Your specific responsibilities will vary according to your expertise but are likely to include: * Working on the detailed, day-to-day, technical implementation of projects across a variety of applications, likely with a significant amount of S&T (Science and Technology) or Research and Development content * Technical leadership of the delivery of projects that solve complex, multi-disciplinary technical challenges, potentially across multi-office teams * Capturing technical product requirements and resolving system level discussions, requiring a strong and broad technical background * Running meetings with clients and other stakeholders, presenting and communicating ideas and concepts to all disciplines, to ensure project success * Supporting Project Managers to develop project proposals that meet our government clients’ commercial and technical requirements, and Business Developers in building relationships with clients to understand their technical needs. This will be primarily for UK-based government clients This role will require some domestic UK-based travel but is focussed on working with project teams within the Cambridge office. We have adopted a hybrid working model, with a mix of both home and office working, based on project need: given the nature of our UK government work, you are likely to need to spend the majority of your time in the Cambridge office.   WHAT YOU CAN BRING You will have experience of contributing to (and potentially leading the technical aspects of) medium to large sized technical product development projects.  You will have a degree in engineering, or a relevant scientific discipline such as Electronics, Software, Physics, Chemistry or Sensing systems, with hands-on experience of product or system development within a team. You will have deep technical skills in one or more of: high-speed and/or RF electronics design, embedded software, or FPGA development, with broad background knowledge to draw on to aid contextualising your specialism as part of a wider team. You will be familiar with the basics of Linux systems, networking, and computer security. Naturally you will also have strong time management, written and verbal communication, and organisational skills. INTRODUCTION We are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer with a digital focus to join our world class multidisciplinary team to help solve complex technical challenges across a broad range of industries. THE ROLE At Cambridge Consultants we help our clients develop breakthrough technology across a broad range of industries including Energy and Industrial, Defence and Security, Consumer, Telecoms, Healthcare and Biotechnology, among various others.  As a Senior Electronics Engineer with a digital focus, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams to own and solve the electronics aspects of complex technical challenges for a variety of clients within these industries, from start-ups to established multinational organizations and government entities. You will initially establish yourself as a safe pair of hands delivering electronics designs. While some of your work will involve general-purpose electronics design, you will also be a key specialist for digital design projects. We will provide the time and support needed to acquire additional specialist skills, such as using Signal Integrity tools like HyperLynx, and mastering hardware design for AMD and/or Xilinx FPGAs. If you lack client-facing experience, we will also help you develop these skills. We are keen to support the development of our employees, and as such offer an extensive inhouse training program. As you advance within the organisation there will be plenty of opportunities for you to develop your technical skills and specialism, take on more leadership responsibilities and/or focus more on supporting the development of sales opportunities. We are looking for someone with prior commercial work experience, but beyond that we can tailor the exact offer based on the amount of experience and capability demonstrated through our interview process. This is a client-facing role, so you will need to demonstrate great communications skills and a genuine passion for engineering!
