INTRODUCTION SUMMARY We are on the lookout for a talented and ambitious Technical Specialist/Lead to join our Security and Defence, Systems and Technology team here in Cambridge, UK. The role is within the Defence & Security Business Unit that undertakes the development of innovative new products across the entire product life cycle. The role will be primarily technical development for our defence and security clients within UK government, although there will be scope to get involved in a variety of projects for our commercial and wider public sector clients. Projects typically consist of early concept work, through prototype manufacture, to new product introduction, often surmounting considerable technical challenges as we push the boundary of what is possible. We combine highly creative lateral thinking with excellent technical skills and we’re looking for broad defence and security industry experience to help us form powerful development teams. INTRODUCTION We are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer with a digital focus to join our world class multidisciplinary team to help solve complex technical challenges across a broad range of industries. THE ROLE At Cambridge Consultants we help our clients develop breakthrough technology across a broad range of industries including Energy and Industrial, Defence and Security, Consumer, Telecoms, Healthcare and Biotechnology, among various others. As a Senior Electronics Engineer with a digital focus, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams to own and solve the electronics aspects of complex technical challenges for a variety of clients within these industries, from start-ups to established multinational organizations and government entities. You will initially establish yourself as a safe pair of hands delivering electronics designs. While some of your work will involve general-purpose electronics design, you will also be a key specialist for digital design projects. We will provide the time and support needed to acquire additional specialist skills, such as using Signal Integrity tools like HyperLynx, and mastering hardware design for AMD and/or Xilinx FPGAs. If you lack client-facing experience, we will also help you develop these skills. We are keen to support the development of our employees, and as such offer an extensive inhouse training program. As you advance within the organisation there will be plenty of opportunities for you to develop your technical skills and specialism, take on more leadership responsibilities and/or focus more on supporting the development of sales opportunities. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
