The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), situated in Grenoble, France, is Europe's leading research facility for scientific research using neutrons. Every year, we host over 2000 visits by scientists, who come to the Institute to carry out world-class research.
The ESRF-ILL-EMBL medical service "SMTC" (Service de Médecine du Travail en Commun) is a joint occupational health service, whose main mission is to prevent any alteration in the health of workers because of their work. You will work together with another nurse and a medical assistant to ensure the smooth running of the service under the coordination of the Occupational Health Doctor.
Your tasks
. Provide routine and emergency care
. Update staff medical records in the Medical Service software
. Prepare medical check-ups, perform additional examinations (including toxicological and radio-toxicological examinations) and monitor the health of staff
. Perform informative and preventative medical check-ups for new hires (known as "visites d'information et de prévention infirmier")
. Be the first point of contact for staff and visitors, provide advice on healthcare matters and perform vaccinations
. Manage medical equipment supplies and keep track of stocks of medications
. Schedule regular medical check-ups for staff
. Record occupational accidents and incidents on the SMTC register
. Put in place risk prevention measures and raise awareness of occupational hazards
. Carry out workstation assessments
. Take part in meetings of the CSSCT (Workplace Health and Safety Commission) and other committees
. Provide statistical data for regulatory documentation
Your profile
. You have a French "Diplôme d'Etat d'Infirmier·ière" (or equivalent diploma) allowing you to work as a nurse in France. You have at least five years' experience, preferably in a hospital environment (emergency department, intensive care unit, etc.)
. You hold, or are currently pursing, a French "Diplôme d'Infirmier·ière en Santé au Travail (DIUST)".
. If you are not already an occupational first-aid trainer, the ILL will help you gain this qualification.
. You have sound knowledge in the area of occupational health and ensure that you keep your skills up to date with continuous professional development (CPD).
. You are proficient in the use of computer software (Word, Excel, email) and you are able to adapt quickly to new software.
. You are capable of managing emergencies, prioritising, and reporting efficiently.
. You are familiar with, or interested in learning about, the risks associated with working under ionising radiation.
. You have an excellent command of spoken and written French and English.
