Assignment Description
We are looking for an experienced CAE Engineer – Durability with expertise in wheel suspension systems, durability simulations, and sensor design.
What You Will Work On
Perform durability simulations for wheel suspension and chassis components
Design and develop strain gauge sensor solutions for vehicles and test rigs
Lead the complete sensor design process from concept to calibration
Define testing requirements, load cases, and measurement strategies
Perform stress and strain simulations to determine optimal sensor placement
Design sensor hardware and supporting mechanical components
Plan and support sensor calibration activities
Perform stress and strain CAE analyses to predict component durability and service life
Support vehicle development through durability assessments and engineering recommendations
Collaborate with design engineers to improve product durability
Develop and refine durability requirements and engineering guidelines
Support laboratory testing using measured load data
Correlate physical test results with CAE simulation models
Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development process
What You Bring
Several years of experience within CAE durability engineering
Strong knowledge of wheel suspension design
Experience performing durability simulations
Experience with stress and strain analysis
Experience with strain gauge sensor design and calibration
Proficiency with ANSA
Proficiency with Abaqus
Experience with nCode
Good understanding of vehicle development and design processes
Experience developing durability requirements and technical guidelines
Ability to analyze, interpret, and correlate simulation and test results
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Self-driven with the ability to work independently
Leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills

Your main responsibilities will be hardware-related, but the role also includes calibration and diagnostics of components and systems. You will design layouts, air ducts, routing, and select components, as well as perform heating and cooling calibrations in the cab, all in compliance with relevant standards. You will own the HVAC area with close interfaces toward the Thermal Management area. You will collaborate closely within our cab team and other functions with colleagues around the world. Experience in hardware design related to HVAC, climate systems, or thermal management is considered a strong advantage. You are familiar with engineering tools such as CAD and PLM systems and feel comfortable working in a technical development environment. As a person, you are structured, collaborative, and solution-oriented, with the ability to balance detailed engineering work with a broader system perspective. You are a strong communicator who enjoys working cross-functionally in an international and multicultural environment. While you bring valuable experience to the team, you are also curious, eager to learn, and motivated by continuous improvement. You hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and have a few years of experience within HVAC, thermal systems, or mechanical design. We are a team of approximately 20 skilled and engaged colleagues based in Eskilstuna. Our mission is to develop service methods, technical documentation, spare parts solutions, and serviceability improvements for wheel loaders, axles, transmissions, and engines. We combine technical expertise with a strong customer focus to deliver solutions that support uptime, safety, and sustainability. Who are you? To be successful in this role, you likely have: Hands-on experience working with heavy vehicles, construction equipment, or similar products. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. Strong technical understanding and an interest in developing efficient service solutions. Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, spoken and written. A structured and analytical way of working. A valid driver's license (B).
