Lyten is seeking an Automation Engineer with a specialization in control systems for manufacturing equipment. As an Automation Engineer you will be responsible to develop, integrate, and improve automation systems for manufacturing equipment. You will work closely together with production, process, quality, and software engineers to make sure the automation systems are integrated into the overall factory requirements. As automation engineer you will work together with equipment suppliers to make sure best automation solutions selected and implemented. You will ensure automation systems integrated in manufacturing equipment meet availability, reliability, and resolve production issues with a sense of urgency.

Develop the automation systems that are to be implemented in the production equipment in the factory as well as the relevant specifications and documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define automation system requirements, select suitable hardware and software, and create robust solutions for production lines.
Ensure seamless data integration for manufacturing equipment to Manufacturing Execution System(MES)/Cloud systems.
Provide automation support for manufacturing equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal operation while implementing best practices to ensure systems reliability, scalability and performance.
Review Engineering Design Documentation(Specifications, Functional Design, Logic/Electrical/Network Diagrams).
Identify and interact with key automation solution suppliers. Drive workshops and onboarding suppliers to the Lyten’s automation standards and collaborate with selected suppliers to implement state of the art automation systems.
Support and collaborate with equipment purchasing specialists and the project team to select the most proficient equipment suppliers from an automation perspective.
Responsible for the Factory Acceptance Tests of the equipment and supporting the commissioning of the equipment.
Responsible for the Site Acceptance Tests of the equipment upon commissioning completion.
Cost estimations for projects and change requests. Provide input for quoting, planning works, and change orders.
Organize and take part in internal training and workshops.

Requirements
Educational background and previous experience required for the role
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Automation, Electronics/Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Experience within Industrial Automation in process-driven or discrete manufacturing industries such as: Battery Cell, Automotive, Steel, Mining, Chemical, Paper, Semiconductors, Pharma, Packaging, Warehouses, etc.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience configuring, programming and troubleshooting automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA solutions especially for Siemens, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi systems.
Experience working with data connectivity to Cloud/MES using OPC/UA.
Experience working with IT/OT networks.
Experience with industrial communication protocols like Profinet, EtherCAT, TCP/IP, Modbus etc.
Experience working with sensors, instrumentation, servo drives and motion control.
Ability to travel to different Lyten’s factories and to supplier visits.
Specific skills & Knowledge
Knowledge of Siemens-TIA Portal or Beckhoff-TwinCAT or Mitsubitshi-MELSEC PLCs programming.
Knowledge of WinCC or Proface HMIs development.
Knowledge of configuration and commissioning of motor drives.
Knowledge of calibration/validation of process instruments.
Knowledge of European Directives and relevant ISO, IEC, and safety standards.
Good understanding of project and supplier management, and structured problem solving skills.
We’re looking for a Paint Automation Engineer - Robotics for a company in Västerås. Start is in August, 12 months limited contract to begin with. This role is 100% onsite in Västerås. As a Paint Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and developing automation solutions within our production environment in Västerås. You will work close to operations as the technical expert within paint automation, ensuring stable, safe, and efficient automated processes. The role is primarily operational, with strong development elements. You will contribute to improving and optimizing our automation systems while supporting future projects and the transition towards a more advanced and highly automated production environment. A key part of the role is cross-functional collaboration with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve issues, drive improvements, and strengthen automation capabilities across the organization.
