ENPULSION is looking for a Head of Engineering (m/f/x) to lead our 16-person Engineering team and report directly to the COO.
In this role, you will define and drive the technical direction of our propulsion systems, lead and develop a multidisciplinary
engineering organization, and ensure strong execution across the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership
experience in a regulated industry, deep understanding of hardware systems, and a proven track record of guiding engineering teams
through complex technical challenges.
Type of contract: Full time position with 38.5 hours/week
Salary: The minimum base monthly salary for this position starts at EUR 4.888,37 gross per month, with a significant planned
overpayment depending on your professional experience and qualifications.

Head of Engineering Location: Paris 9th, France Compensation: Base €110-150k + Options: €100-200k (gross value) You are an experienced people manager, team leader, and hands-on software engineer. You are passionate about simple solutions to complex problems, whether they are product or software. You thrive on growing and enabling people to have the biggest impact possible. You have designed and built complex and mission-critical products and systems, and have seen them scale from 1 engineer to one team and to multiple teams. You've been a consistent example of high standards, growth mindset, and teamwork for your entire team. As Head of Engineering, you will report to Mathias, our co-CEO, and work hand-in-hand with him and the Product team to grow the team from a flat structure to mission-defined teams. You will be responsible for all software delivery and for goal-setting for engineering. You will recruit, support, and scale our culture of product engineering, innovation, and pragmatism within Engineering.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead the software development function and manage engineering teams. * Define and execute the technology strategy in alignment with business and product goals. * Own the development roadmap together with product, business, and executive stakeholders. * Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of software products and technical solutions. * Build scalable, secure, and reliable architecture. * Review and improve engineering processes, development standards, code quality, and release management. * Manage technical priorities, resource allocation, and delivery risks. * Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers, team leads, architects, and developers. * Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management for technical teams. * Drive best practices in software development, testing, DevOps, security, and documentation. * Evaluate and select technologies, tools, frameworks, and vendors when needed. * Communicate technical decisions, risks, and progress to senior leadership in a clear, business-oriented way. REQUIREMENTS * Proven experience as a CTO, Head of Engineering, VP Engineering, Head of Development, or similar senior technology leadership role. * Strong hands-on background in software engineering and system architecture. * Experience managing engineering teams and technical managers. * Strong understanding of modern software development practices, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, security, and scalable architecture. * Experience delivering complex digital products or platforms. * Ability to balance strategic technology vision with hands-on execution. * Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. * Experience working in fast-paced, international, or matrix organizations. * Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Fluent English and Spanish are required NICE TO HAVE * Experience in EdTech, SaaS, AI, data platforms, enterprise software, or digital learning products. * Experience with distributed international engineering teams. * Experience in technical transformation, platform modernization, or scaling engineering organizations. * Previous startup or scale-up experience.
