LotusWorks is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, integral to our people-first approach.  As an Electrical Commissioning Technician working with the LotusWorks team, you will be based on a client site within the Semiconductor sector at a state‑of‑the‑art facility in Leixlip, Co. Kildare. In this role, you will join a highly experienced onsite team responsible for the delivery of Electrical LV system scopes within an active manufacturing environment. LotusWorks has provided continuous support to this client site for over two decades, backed by established onsite management structures, reliable administrative support, and a collaborative, performance-driven team culture. RESPONSIBILITIES: * This position is responsible for the commissioning and de-commissioning of a range of LV Electrical Systems, including but not limited to those listed below: * LV Distribution Panels (Continuous & Emergency Power)  * Distribution Panels (General Services)  * LCP / MCC Panels  * Transformers  * UPS Systems  * VSDs / VFDs & Associated Motors, Pumps, Fans  * Heat Trace Systems  * Process Tool Energisations & De-Energisations * Work as an Electrical Commissioning Technician as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team supporting Electrical commissioning and de-commissioning activities. * Document, execute, and close out Electrical LSRs (Live Service Requests) and DSLs (De-Installs). * Prepare Electrical power‑up documentation in line with the tool installation process. * Demonstrate ownership and initiative in a high‑paced, schedule‑driven environment. * Deliver assigned tasks in line with project milestones and safety requirements. * Carry out all duties in a manner that poses no risk to personnel safety or facility operations. * Commission & De-Commission Electrical Systems in accordance with project specifications and site procedures. * Perform pre-flight commissioning & de-commissioning site field walks and document any issues found / generate punch lists for resolution, prior to handover. * Work with Operations and Engineering teams to develop testing protocols and system start‑up procedures. * Safely troubleshoot and resolve Electrical issues in a live manufacturing environment. * Generate and execute commissioning documentation including OATs and FATs (Operational and Functional Acceptance Tests). * Work to tight timelines while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. * Ensure documentation complies with client quality and commissioning requirements. * Generate, execute, and maintain commissioning documentation in a controlled and organised manner. * Record test results and system performance data. * Support the closure of identified field issues and verify that all corrective actions have been effectively implemented. * Interact and respond to Project and Commissioning Leads direction. * Attend daily meetings and provide accurate status updates on assigned systems and activities. * Co-ordinate with commissioning, operations, engineering, and safety teams to support system readiness. * Execute all works in strict accordance with site safety protocols, procedures, permits, and approved documentation. * The role involves the commissioning and de-commissioning of multiple Electrical Systems, executed with unwavering adherence to COHE (Control of Hazardous Energy) procedures to ensure the highest standards of safety and operational control. * Maintain exceptional attention to detail & safety standards, particularly when working on live Electrical Systems Identify, report, and mitigate any risks associated with Electrical commissioning and de-commissioning activities * Communicate clearly and professionally with peers, supervisors, and client stakeholders.  SKILLS REQUIRED: * Strong working knowledge of LV Electrical Systems, including operation, design, and testing practices. * Proven experience in the start‑up and commissioning of Electrical equipment and systems. * Proficient in incorporating LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) and COHE procedures in operational environments to ensure equipment isolation, hazard control, and personnel safety. * Knowledge of VSD & VFD drives is considered an advantage. * Demonstrated understanding of MCCB types and their performance characteristics is considered a notable advantage. * High attention to detail, particularly regarding safety‑critical systems. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic fast‑paced environment. * Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite applications, with the ability to produce accurate documentation and support operational tasks. * Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills. * Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.    EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: * Time‑served Electrical Trade qualification, or a Degree in Electrical Engineering. * A minimum of four years of applicable Electrical industry experience. * Certification in Electrical testing & verification is considered an advantage. * Proof of education, trade credentials, and any other additional certifications will be required where applicable. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in power distribution equipment, NETA testing procedures, and critical electrical infrastructure. This role requires a self-motivated professional capable of independently managing projects, interacting directly with customers, and delivering high-quality technical documentation. Key Responsibilities Electrical Testing & Commissioning * Perform acceptance, maintenance, and diagnostic testing of electrical power equipment ranging from 600V through 15kV. * Conduct testing in accordance with NETA, IEEE, NFPA, OSHA, and customer-specific standards. * Perform field testing and commissioning of: * Medium-voltage switchgear * Circuit breakers * Protective relays * Power and distribution transformers * Instrument transformers * Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) * Motor Control Centers (MCC) * Low-voltage switchgear * Grounding systems * Substation equipment Troubleshooting & Technical Support * Diagnose and resolve electrical system and equipment issues. * Support equipment energization, startup, and commissioning activities. * Evaluate test results and identify equipment deficiencies or operational risks. * Provide technical recommendations for corrective actions and system improvements. Project Management * Lead field testing and commissioning projects from initiation through completion. * Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. * Manage project schedules, labor hours, and budgets. * Participate in job walks, scope development, and proposal support activities. Reporting & Documentation * Prepare detailed technical reports documenting testing procedures, results, observations, and recommendations. * Maintain accurate records of field activities and test data. * Communicate project updates and findings to customers and internal teams. Customer Relations * Serve as a trusted technical resource for clients. * Respond promptly to customer inquiries and project-related communications. * Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service throughout all project phases. Qualifications Required * NETA Certification (Level II, III, or IV preferred). * Minimum 5 years of experience performing electrical testing and commissioning. * Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems from 600V through 15kV. * Experience with protective relay testing and troubleshooting. * Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and construction drawings. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. * Ability to travel to project sites and work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends when required. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electrical testing software. Preferred * Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology, Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent military experience. * Experience in data centers, utility substations, industrial facilities, renewable energy facilities, or mission-critical environments. * Knowledge of NERC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and OSHA electrical safety requirements. * Project leadership or supervisory experience.
