Bosch Thermoteknik in Tranås is looking for a structured and driven LVD Certification Specialist to strengthen our product development organization. In this role, you will be our internal expert and key contact for electrical safety and certification under the Low Voltage Directive. Your technical expertise and ability to interpret and apply complex standards will directly support the successful certification and market launch of our products. Your main responsibility will be to ensure that our heat pumps meet all relevant electrical safety requirements and successfully complete the certification process for CE marking. Your responsibilities • Define certification and testing requirements for products and components. • Review supplier certificates, technical documentation, and test reports to ensure compliance with applicable standards. • Lead technical discussions with suppliers, laboratories, and external test institutes regarding requirements, test methods, and results. • Plan, perform, and document LVD and electrical safety tests in our internal laboratory. • Coordinate testing activities with external certification bodies and test institutes. • Perform practical testing according to relevant sections of EN 60335-2-40, including clauses 10, 11, 13, and 19. • Manage our Customer's Test Facility agreement, including annual audits, documentation, and calibration of test equipment. • Support development teams throughout the product development process and proactively identify potential certification risks. • Act as the company expert for LVD certification and ensure that our products receive final approval. Qualifications What distinguishes you You are structured, analytical, and comfortable working with detailed technical standards and documentation. What we do at Blykalla Blykalla is a Swedish deep-tech company at the forefront of the nuclear industry, pioneering the development of small modular reactors that provide clean, safe, and reliable energy. Thanks to lead-cooling, we achieve high safety in a very compact format, allowing for a simple and cost-effective design that can be mass-produced. What you’ll get to do As a Rotating Machine Lead Engineer, you will own the rotating equipment portfolio of the SEALER plant — from the Primary Coolant Pumps (PCPs) submerged in molten lead above 400 °C, where conventional bearing and sealing solutions don't apply, to the secondary-side feedwater and condensate pumps and the full set of auxiliary and safety-related pumps the plant requires. It is a technically demanding portfolio that spans genuinely novel engineering on the primary side and rigorous nuclear-grade discipline throughout: Define functional and design requirements for the full rotating equipment portfolio — PCPs in molten lead, secondary-side feedwater and condensate pumps, and all auxiliary, safety-related, and service pumps. Develop design basis documentation and lead trade-off studies on pump configuration, drive arrangement, sealing strategy, and bearing technology. Set priorities across the portfolio — distinguishing where Blykalla-specific engineering is warranted from where standard industrial solutions suffice. Act as Blykalla's technical counterpart to pump suppliers and engineering partners, challenging design choices and steering solutions to fit plant requirements across hydraulics, sealing, materials, and maintainability. Define the scope of hydraulic, rotordynamic, and structural analyses; brief specialists; and critically review their outputs. Use hand calculations to sanity-check results. Own supplier work packages: evaluate proposals, lead design reviews, and keep pump development aligned with plant requirements and schedule. Support test rig development when needed to advance tailor-made pumping solutions. Collaborate across internal teams and with academic and industrial partners. Who’ll you’ll get to work with The Rotating Machine Lead Engineer sits in the Fluid Systems Engineering Team within Blykalla, and reports to the Manager of Fluids Engineering. Strong working knowledge of centrifugal and/or axial pump design, including rotordynamics, bearing selection, mechanical seals or seal-less concepts, and applicable design codes and standards such as API 610, API 682, ASME III, PED, or RCC-M. Hydraulic and mechanical fundamentals sufficient to steer and critically review calculations performed by specialists, including the ability to perform hand calculations on head, NPSH, power, and basic rotordynamics to sanity-check results. Comfort writing clear technical specifications, reviewing supplier deliverables critically, and managing a multi-vendor technical dialogue from concept through qualification. Familiarity with CAD tools and engineering software. Fluent in English, spoken and written. Fluency in Swedish is a plus. Meritorious skills: Hands-on experience with heavy liquid metal pumps (lead, lead-bismuth, sodium). Experience with reactor coolant pumps in light-water reactors. Experience with high-pressure feedwater or boiler feed pumps in conventional or nuclear steam plants. Familiarity with magnetic drives, canned-motor pumps, or other seal-less concepts. Job Description Your Role As a Development Engineer, you will drive innovation and optimization of refrigeration circuits in our next-generation heat pump systems. From concept through validation, you will ensure that system performance meets customer expectations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers in an international, agile environment. Your Responsibilities You design and select refrigeration components based on system requirements. You collaborate with suppliers to adapt components to our needs. You take ownership of system performance KPIs. You develop and execute test plans to verify system targets. You perform simulations to iterate designs and solve technical challenges. You work on new concepts and support patent applications. You lead or participate in safety strategies, risk assessments, and lifecycle improvement projects. You contribute to building internal know-how, training colleagues and shaping technical roadmaps. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field, preferably with a focus on thermodynamics or refrigeration. Technical Skills: Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and refrigeration. Experience in selecting, testing, and validating refrigeration components and systems. Comfortable working in a lab environment with test rigs and measurement tools. Ability to read and write technical documentation and specifications. Familiar with simulation tools (e.g., Dymola, MATLAB/Simulink); experience modeling refrigerant systems is a plus. Knowledge of technical standards and legal requirements related to refrigeration (e.g., EN14511, EN14825, Ecodesign, F-Gas, PED) is valued. Familiarity with agile development processes is a plus.
