We are looking for an ambitious and analytical postdoc to join our team. About us The Department of Technology Management and Economics conducts research and education at the intersection of technological development and management/policy. The division of Supply & Operations Management (SOM) performs research, education and outreach activities related to logistics, operations management, and industrial marketing and purchasing. All of these areas relate to the broader field of supply chain management. Our research is empirical and problem-oriented, with strong emphasis on theoretical, industrial, and societal relevance. The Interaction Design and Software Engineering division conducts research and education in both Interaction Design and Software Engineering. About the research project This 2 year funded Postdoc project investigates how AI‑supported decision-making reshape collaboration, trust, and information sharing in a business-to-business context. Focusing on real-world supply chain management and logistics settings, it examines how trust in AI and between organizations influences data sharing, coordination, and joint efforts toward zero‑emission systems. Using qualitative and quantitative methods, the project develops and tests a practical framework for “trust calibration” in AI‑supported collaboration, helping organizations understand when to rely on AI, when to verify its recommendations, and how to design governance structures for responsible and effective collaboration. We have a pool of interview data to begin the project. About the research project Project: Practice-based school research in mathematics education Since 2017, Chalmers has been a part of the national initiative on practice-based school research within the framework of ULF (Education, Learning & Research, ulfavtal.se). The purpose of the initiative is to strengthen the long-term development of the Swedish school system and the teacher and preschool teacher education programs through deepened collaboration around practice-based research. Researchers in mathematics education at the Department of Mathematical Sciences have participated in several research projects that, among other things, have investigated the effects of test-based learning, the use of vertical surfaces, and student-generated clues for solving problems. The projects have been initiated and implemented in close collaboration with teachers at the training schools affiliated with Chalmers' teacher education program, Learning and Leadership. Department of Aquatic Resources (SLU Aqua) Climate change is impacting aquatic ecosystems worldwide, creating an urgent need for management strategies that strengthen ecological resilience and support sustainable use of aquatic resources. In this two-year postdoctoral project, you will use quantitative evidence-based syntheses to identify how aquatic management can enhance ecosystem resilience to the impacts of climate change. About the position We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with a strong interest in evidence-based conservation and restoration ecology. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate who has recently completed, or is close to completing, a PhD and has training in statistics, data processing, bioinformatics, or a related discipline, to contribute to research on disorders of the brain. You will work with some degree of independence as a postdoctoral researcher in a group studying Parkinson’s disease and other alpha-synuclein–related diseases (alpha-synucleinopathies) within the David Bäckström lab (umu.se), primarily multiple system atrophy (MSA) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). Our aim is to understand what causes these diseases, how synapses in the brain are affected in them, how these disorders lead to dementia, and—if possible—how they can be treated or prevented. Project Description The research group currently consists of 3–5 members and collaborates closely with the Departments of Neurology, Pathology, and Radiology at Norrlands University Hospital (NUS), as well as Umeå University. The group includes a principal investigator, a PhD student, a research nurse, and several affiliated researchers and students. Our research spans the spectrum from epidemiological studies to analyses of cerebrospinal fluid, genetics, and protein biochemistry related to Parkinson’s disease and other alpha-synucleinopathies. As a Senior/Lead Economy and Engagement Designer at Embark, you will be responsible for designing and implementing systems and mechanics that are deep and interesting for our players to engage with and retain them, short, medium and long term, as well as sustainable and player-friendly monetization features and models, that provide real value to our players, in a fair way. You will join the team on ARC Raiders and collaborate closely with the directors of the project, in refining concepts and ideas into tangible designs, prototypes and features, as well as Production leadership helping in articulating and establishing estimates, project scope and timelines. You will share your insights and knowledge in shaping relevant performance indicators, as well as validation methods using telemetry data and simulations. As a senior member of the design team we would like you to act as a coach and mentor to some of the other designers on the project, and possibly take on direct managerial responsibilities, if relevant and suitable. Inspiring and helping more junior designers with design methodology, documentation practices, etc. You will also own and spearhead game features directly, and work hands-on in cross disciplinary teams while implementing features and tools for running a successful and smooth live service game, including community events and other types of events. Example of responsibilities Design, implementation and evaluation of our monetization strategy including quantitative and qualitative analysis, as well as any available automation and simulation strategies. Understanding player motivations and how they relate to our game loops, especially in terms of delivering a fun gameplay experience with engagement systems. Responsible for in-game virtual store including recommendations and contributions towards catalog and pricing strategy for micro-transactions. Joint optimization with marketing, acquisition and crm teams for the entire user journey. Be a key stakeholder in game frontend presentation and flow for engagement and game economy features. Design and collaborate on metagame, progression and economy systems for long term player retention and engagement. Analyze the impact of changes in the game, identify opportunities that will have a positive impact on monetization and engagement in development and post launch. Help define key performance indicators (KPIs) related to monetization, analyze KPI reports and share information with the team and stakeholders to identify and predict trends. Monitor trends on monetization in order to identify best practices, achieve optimal results and innovation. We would love if you have A creative and curious mind. 5+ years or more experience in equivalent roles. An understanding of acquisition, retention and monetization concepts. Understanding of AAA gameplay and game design, including player psychology, UX design, gameplay design. Proficiency with the Unreal Engine and experience with Blueprints and scripting. Ability to design and continuously improve the optimization process of any given game. Experience with experimental design and/or AB Testing for data driven designs. Experience of coaching more junior members of the team. Strong communication skills and the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders Professional English communication skills.
