About the role: As ESS gets closer to its steady-state operations phase, we're looking for an Electronics Technician to join our Radio Frequency (RF) Group. The RF Group is part of the Accelerator division at ESS, and is responsible for defining, designing, installing, commissioning and maintaining the complex systems and amplifiers required for the operation of our particle accelerator. We are looking for a technician to assist with testing, operation and maintenance of high-powered amplifiers, power supplies and electronics. You will be working closely with, and assisting other members of, the RF group - as well as having your own short- and longer-term assignments. While much of the work is of an electronics and RF nature, we’re looking for a versatile technician who wants to learn new skills to take on a variety of tasks. EISCAT AB is recruiting an algorithms engineer to develop software forEISCAT_3D, the world's most advanced scientific radar. The focus of the role is mathematically oriented programming and the implementation of algorithms for the data processing pipeline. EISCAT is currently collaborating with the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF) to develop methods to more accurately measure the orbital parameters of known hard targets, including compensation for wave propagation through the atmosphere. Part of this position at EISCAT is to integrate these algorithms into our current analysis package. It is expected that the work will also include working on the new data analysis pipeline as well as working on development of other parts of the system software. The position is focused on implementing mathematical algorithms and data processing. The candidate should ideally have a good foundation in both mathematics and signal processing, be comfortable working with older codebases and have experience writing high performance code. EISCAT_3D is expected to be in operation for decades, so we are looking for candidates with a long term view and an interest in radar or radio technology. The team is spread across multiple locations and time zones, so candidates should have good communication skills and be comfortable taking the initiative with their work. YOUR MISSION You will be the primary architect of resilient, low-probability-of-intercept (LPI) communication links for our next generation of autonomous platforms. Your mission is to ensure that STARK’s drone fleets maintain command and control integrity even in the most severe electronic warfare environments. This is a full-stack communications role where you will bridge the gap between low-level RF hardware and high-level software networking. RESPONSIBILITIES * Design and implement the complete communication software stack for unmanned systems, from physical layer waveform manipulation to network layer routing. * Develop and integrate anti-jamming techniques, frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS), and low-probability-of-detection (LPD) protocols. * Architect high-reliability data links tailored for the unique constraints of small-form-factor UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) operating in contested airspace. * Write high-performance, real-time C++ code to handle high-speed data transmission and error correction algorithms (FEC). * Collaborate with hardware engineers to select and tune front-end components, ensuring the software stack is perfectly calibrated to the physical RF environment. * Research and implement adaptive filtering and cognitive radio techniques to bypass active electronic countermeasures. * Conduct rigorous bench testing and field trials to validate link stability against simulated near-peer electronic warfare threats. QUALIFICATIONS * Strong proficiency in C++ and a deep understanding of embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and Linux networking. * A professional background in Electronics Engineering with a specific focus on communication systems and digital signal processing (DSP). * Practical experience with the OSI model, specifically how it applies to radio-based mesh networks and point-to-point links. * Deep understanding of digital modulation schemes (OFDM, DSSS, GFSK) and the underlying physics of RF propagation. * The ability to debug complex timing issues and signal degradation at the hardware/software boundary. YOUR MISSION As a UAV Test Pilot at STARK, you are the critical link between digital design and physical reality. Working in lockstep with Flight Test Engineers, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting of flight tests for experimental, developmental, and modified production systems. Your mission is to push our airframes to their limits to validate performance, ensure compliance with international standards, and prove the safety of our designs. You aren't just "flying drones", you are validating the next generation of autonomous flight technologies that will protect Europe. Whether you are executing high-performance manual maneuvers or monitoring complex BVLOS autonomous missions, your feedback will directly shape the software and hardware of the future. RESPONSIBILITIES FLIGHT OPERATIONS & EXECUTION * Conduct remote piloting of unmanned aircraft during development and validation campaigns, often in stabilisation modes of fixed-wing and multirotor UAV configuration to test the raw flight envelope. * Execute flight tests with precision according to the flight test programme. * Monitor live telemetry and onboard video streams, maintaining total situational awareness of aircraft health and test status. * Coordinate with GCS operators, observers, and engineers in a high-pressure team environment. TEST PLANNING & PREPARATION * Contribute operational expertise to test site selection, flight profiles, hazard analysis, and weather constraints. * Prepare UAV systems, including pre-flight configuration, control link verification, and functional system checks. * Assist with the integration and ground verification of flight-critical hardware and software. SAFETY, REGULATORY & DOCUMENTATION * Act as the final authority on safety for each sortie, conducting risk assessments and responding to anomalies or emergency situations. * Maintain airspace deconfliction in accordance with SORA and EASA regulatory requirements. * Participate in briefings/debriefings, providing structured, technical feedback on aircraft behavior. * Support licensing and documentation to build long-term test capabilities across Germany and Europe. QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS * Valid EU A1/A3 Remote Pilot Certificates (EASA). * Valid radio operator certificate (e.g., BZF) or the ability to obtain one immediately. * Demonstrable manual piloting skills of high-performance fixed-wing and multirotor UAVs (precision take-offs, landings, and maneuvering in tight spots). * Experience with professional GCS software, mission planning tools, and telemetry monitoring. * Must be a citizen of a NATO member state (due to export control and security regulations). Job Summary This position reports to the Project Leader or Installation manager as immediate manager and in day-to-day work to the Arbetsledare/Supervisor. On-site or in-house servicing, repair and/or installation of company product(s). This job will include field support and installation of data cables, installation of cabinets, sensors, cameras, variable message signs, switches and other monitoring equipment installations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Follow supervisor’s directions for all tasks · Read and understand project documents such as plans and specifications · Support in overall installation and maintenance activities in the field of technical systems for metro, tunnel and road projects. · Installs equipment including but not limited to cameras, detectors, cabinets, switches, radio etc. · Installs pull boxes and conduit. · Installation of different types of cables, including pulling cable and installation of cable in conduits · Connect and terminates comms cables (UTP RJ45 for CAT5 and CAT6, coax) to equipment. · Overall support to testing team to verify devices’ functionality. · Execution of periodic maintenance activities for installed systems. · Prepares logs to keep track of field conditions and installation activities, daily journal (dagbok). · Assists Arbetsledare/Supervisor in various aspects related to installation works. · Other duties may be assigned. · Perform duties at multiple construction sites, simultaneously.
