What you will be doing
Key responsibilities
Having recently opened our first office in Séoul, we are looking for a Director to join Artefact consulting practice and grow our
footprint within the Korean market. As an experienced consultant, you will play a key role in winning and overseeing consulting
engagements, serving as primary contact with clients, assuming the lead role with internal teams of consultants and data
scientists, and engaging resources across Artefact’s global offices.
● Building Artefact’s Korean presence, serving in a leadership capacity for Séoul office, being part of the Partner Group in APAC
(offices in Singapore, Hong-Kong, Shanghai and Chengdu), with strong relationships with Artefact global practices (Data
Marketing,...)
● Creating real impact with clients : winning consulting engagements and overseeing their delivery, transforming data into added
value and making sure our clients reap all the benefits.
● Bringing your industry and/or functional expertise to help both our own and our client teams develop themselves.
● Leading and supporting our clients’ top executives (CMO, CDO, sometimes directly the CEO) with transformation of their business
and making sure Artefact is their preferred partner in this endeavor.
● Contributing to content development and writing on business-relevant topics (e.g. Artefact published research, articles and
business cases).
● Deliver the highest standards of quality on your projects
Pilot multidisciplinary teams (consultants, data scientists, strategic planners, media traders) Ensure the highest level of
quality of output to your clients
Accountable for the success of the projects from a client and team perspective
Lead & develop Séoul’s consulting team
Develop consultants' expertise through training and best practice sharing with the other countries (digital ecosystem, consulting
hard skills, soft skills, etc.)
Communicate the department's successes and results at the country level (ex: through events and PR)
Develop the consulting offer with existing clients, especially with Activation or Data clients Create opportunities for other
Departments with your clients (Data Science, Activation, Creativity)
Build a commercial strategy to develop the country's client portfolio (consulting is a very good step in the door) through
personal contacts, events, cold calls, ...
Monitor the commercial pipeline
Build proposals supporting the client needs

You have demonstrated success in your first 6+ years of career at a tier 1 consulting firm and have 4+ years of experience
managing projects and/or clients.

Artefact is : * 13 offices in Paris, London, Shanghai, Dubai... * 900 employees * 4 practices: Data Consulting, Data Marketing, Activation and Creation WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES As a Data Director, your role will encompass: Strategic Leadership and Management * Lead and expand the data science team, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives. * Develop and oversee the execution of ambitious data transformation projects, ensuring they meet client needs and business goals. * Drive collaboration across different divisions—such as Activation, Creativity, and Strategy—to deliver comprehensive, integrated solutions that enhance client satisfaction and service delivery. Client Engagement and Relationship Management * Build and maintain senior-level relationships with clients, becoming a trusted advisor for their data strategy and transformation efforts. * Regularly present insights and strategic recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders, showcasing the value and impact of data-driven decision-making. Operational Excellence and Innovation * Ensure the successful delivery of data projects, setting high standards for timeliness and quality. * Spearhead the adoption of cutting-edge data science and data engineering technologies, methodologies, and practices. * Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the data science team, encouraging innovation and experimentation. Team Development and Thought Leadership * Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and empowering environment. * Act as a thought leader in data science, contributing to the broader data science community and enhancing Artefact's reputation in the industry. * Ensure the team’s technical capabilities align with industry standards and emerging technologies, facilitating ongoing professional development and training. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED * A Master’s or PhD degree in Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. * Over 8 years of experience in leadership roles within data science, demonstrating a proven track record of managing teams and delivering impactful data-driven solutions. * Exceptional knowledge of data processing, data modeling, algorithms, and data architecture, with hands-on experience in managing large-scale projects. * Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide team members towards achieving business and personal growth goals. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with all levels of the organization and external clients. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR * Educational background: a completed Master’s degree, ideally focusing on Technology or (Business) Economics (MSc, MBA), with strong academic performance. * Work experience: 6–12 months in internships or student roles in consulting, data/analytics, marketing, advertising, finance, or tech is a plus but not required. * Business acumen: you possess a dual profile in ‘business’ and ‘data,’ with a keen eye for identifying business opportunities. * Technical proficiency: you have strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; knowledge of statistical software and programming languages such as R or Python is an advantage. * Analytical mindset: strong analytical abilities with attention to detail, comfortable working with large datasets. * Language proficiency: you have strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to represent Artefact in a client-facing capacity. * Personal attributes: you are curious and passionate about data and technological evolution. Job Summary We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of data engineering and a proven track record of leading data projects in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities * Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines using SQL, Python, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Apache Airflow and Pyspark. * Lead the integration of complex data systems and ensure consistency and accuracy of data across multiple platforms. * Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices for data pipelines to improve efficiency and quality of data processing. * Work closely with data architects, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical implementations. * Oversee and manage a team of data engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality project deliverables. * Develop and enforce best practices in data governance, security, and compliance within the organisation. * Optimise data retrieval and develop dashboards and reports for business teams. * Continuously evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance the capabilities of the data engineering function. Qualifications * Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. * 6+ years of industry experience in data engineering with a strong technical proficiency in SQL, Python, and big data technologies. * Certification in AWS and/or GCP * Demonstrated experience with Databricks and Snowflake. * Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and DevOps practices. * Proven leadership skills and experience managing data engineering teams. * Strong project management skills and the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously. * Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Experience in the leading large scale data engineering projects * Excellent understanding of data architecture including data mesh, data lake and data warehouse.
