THE ROLE:
We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of commercial software engineering experience.
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot. You will work in a
modern, agile engineering environment and contribute across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with engineers
across multiple regions.
The role offers the opportunity to work with a modern technology stack spanning event-driven architecture, Kubernetes, CI/CD,
observability, and AI-assisted software development.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
Build and support event-driven solutions using Kafka.
Develop and deploy cloud-native applications on Kubernetes.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab.
Monitor and improve application performance using Prometheus, Grafana, and the Elastic Stack.
Collaborate with distributed engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Contribute to code quality, automation, engineering standards, and best practices.
Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
EXPERIENCE
3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong commercial experience in Java backend development.
Experience working with modern SDLC practices and GitLab.
Good understanding of containerisation and orchestration, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience working effectively in an international, distributed engineering environment.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience.
