Diese Rolle ist hybrid ausgelegt und erfordert mindestens zwei Tage pro Woche in unserem Berliner Büro, um eng mit dem Team zusammenzuarbeiten. As DevOps Engineer, you will build and own voize's platform and infrastructure — from cloud and edge systems to ML data pipelines; ensuring our systems are secure, reliable, and compliant. You will enable product and ML teams to ship state-of-the-art healthcare AI with confidence to hospitals, care facilities, and mobile devices across Europe.   🚀 YOUR DAILY BUSINESS - NO TWO DAYS ARE ALIKE * Own and operate our Kubernetes clusters (AWS EKS production, bare-metal K3s for ML training, on-premises appliances running K3s) using GitOps (FluxCD) and Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Ansible) * Manage the lifecycle of on-premises gateway appliances deployed at customer sites — VM image builds, TLS certificate automation, staged rollouts via GitOps, remote monitoring and troubleshooting * Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability infrastructure (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry) across cloud and edge environments * Drive compliance automation — security hardening, access controls, audit logging, encrypted secrets management (SOPS/KMS), and evidence collection for C5, HIPAA, and HDS certifications * Support and scale ML training and data processing infrastructure — GPU cluster management, training job orchestration, and data pipeline reliability, working closely with the ML team to power state-of-the-art speech and language models * Incident response — detection, triage, resolution, and post-incident reviews for infrastructure issues.   🤝 YOUR SKILLSET - WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE * Strong experience operating Kubernetes in production (cluster operations, troubleshooting, networking, storage) * Experience with GitOps workflows * Experience working with monitoring and observability stacks * Security-minded — you have strong understanding of encryption, access controls, secrets management * Solid Linux systems administration skills, and experience with CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance. * You are comfortable with taking shifts in on-call rotations. YOUR CHALLENGE As a (Senior) Software Engineer on the TaxCore team, you'll be part of a shared engineering team that serves both Taxfix and Steuerbot - one team, two brands, multiple products. Based in Berlin or Stuttgart with a flexible hybrid setup, you’ll build and evolve the core shared services that power core experiences across both brands. In close collaboration with other teams, you'll design scalable backend systems and help shape technical direction as part of a small, high-ownership team that moves fast without cutting corners. This is a role for someone who loves building things that matter - and who takes genuine pride in the craft of doing it well. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES * Build, maintain, and continuously improve core shared services and internal tools that power stable, intuitive user experiences for both Taxfix and Steuerbot. * Design and implement scalable, reliable backend systems and architecture that enable core functionality across Taxfix and Steuerbot. * Collaborate across teams to design, ship new features and share capabilities, working pragmatically beyond the boundaries of your immediate team. * Contribute to shaping the long-term technical direction of core backend services, bringing both depth of expertise and a pragmatic, outcome-focused mindset. * Contribute across the team’s stack, including occasional frontend work on internal tooling. * Take ownership, remove blockers, and help the team stay focused on what matters most. YOUR PROFILE * You bring strong backend engineering experience and a proven track record of building and evolving complex, scalable systems in production environments. * You are highly proficient in at least one modern programming language, and experience with Go is strongly preferred. * You have solid experience with modern software architecture concepts, including API design, databases, and cloud-based systems - and hands-on experience integrating a diverse range of third-party and internal APIs. * You are comfortable with containerization and DevOps concepts, with practical experience using tools like Kubernetes. * You care deeply about code quality - writing performant, maintainable, and elegant code is something you take genuine pride in, and you have a natural affinity for the full stack of what it takes to ship great software. * You are familiar with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, and understand how to use them thoughtfully to support better, faster engineering. * You’re a pragmatic, hands-on builder: someone who cuts through complexity and enjoys turning ideas into well-crafted solutions. * You’re collaborative, direct, and outcome-oriented, and thrive in cross-functional environments where people work closely together to solve problems. * German language skills are a plus, as this team works closely with Germany-specific tax logic.
