As the Senior Technical Product Manager for Platform, you will own the product strategy for the shared services layer that powers Constructor's learning and research applications. You will drive the evolution of Platform capabilities - including identity, data infrastructure, AI/ML services, and developer tools - into a modular foundation. Your work enables internal teams and external partners to build and ship faster while maintaining enterprise-grade security, compliance, and global readiness. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Define and drive the product vision for a multi-instance, scalable foundation that supports SaaS and on-premise deployments * Collaborate with application product teams to consolidate fragmented components and requirements into unified platform services * Stay up-to-date with industry developments and technologies to inform Platform strategy * Communicate Platform insights and recommendations to stakeholders and the leadership team * Act as a point of contact for cross-functional teams and stakeholders * Analyse performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimisation * Collaborate with the development team to identify and prioritise new features and capabilities * Drive a roadmap with dependencies across the wider organisation, balancing technical constraints with business needs QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: * 5+ years of experience working as a program or product manager for a platform, SaaS infrastructure, or API products * Computer Science or similar degree * A strong technical background. The platform uses AI agent architectures to generate and validate educational content at scale, serving multiple products across the organization. The team owns the end-to-end lifecycle: workflow design, LLM orchestration, evaluation, and production operations. ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a senior AI engineer ready to work at the heart of production AI systems. You will contribute directly to two core services: Conversation Brain, an LLM-driven conversation engine, and Ambient ORA, a speech assessment engine powering multiple products across Pearson. The role sits at the intersection of product engineering and AI science, bridging research outputs from the R&D team into production-grade services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Design, develop, and optimize AI-driven content generation workflows. * Contribute directly to our codebases, building and maintaining agentic workflows using Python (FastAPI, CrewAI, LangGraph, LangChain) and Go where needed. * Build and maintain agentic workflows using CrewAI, LangGraph, and LangChain. * Ensure code quality through unit and integration tests written as part of the development workflow, in line with our shift-left approach where developers own test creation. * Operationalize AI models in collaboration with the AI R&D. * Implement LLM observability and evaluation using Langfuse, OpenLit, and New Relic. * Design and run LLM evaluation benchmarks and regression detection. * Integrate and manage resources across Azure (Container Apps, Service Bus, Blob Storage) and AWS. * Ensure robust CI/CD pipelines and contribute to SDLC best practices. * Package, deploy, and scale applications using Docker; Kubernetes experience is a plus. REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS * Strong Python development skills (FastAPI) and hands-on experience with agentic and LLM frameworks (CrewAI, LangGraph, LangChain, or equivalent). * Production experience with LLMs, including prompt engineering, model evaluation, and operationalizing research outputs into production services (Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI). * Practical experience with Azure services (Container Apps, Service Bus, Key Vault, Blob Storage) and familiarity with AWS. * Experience with LLM observability and monitoring tools (Langfuse, OpenLit, New Relic, or equivalent). * Solid grasp of CI/CD, DevOps, and SDLC. Working knowledge of Docker, with k8s experience as a plus. * Familiarity with ML/NLP tooling (PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy, scikit-learn) a strong plus. * Daily user of AI development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot). * Fluent English, spoken and written. * Nice to have: Working knowledge of Go, with the ability to read, modify, and maintain existing Go services. You will be embedded in a team delivering for a client in a fast-paced, product-led environment, and you will be accountable for how your workstream is delivered, not just the code you write. You lead from the front: still close enough to the technology to make the call, and senior enough to own the outcome. You set the technical direction, keep the delivery signal honest, and grow the engineers around you. We work at pace. Priorities move, requirements are rarely perfect on day one, and we value people who can bring order to ambiguity rather than wait for it to clear. How we work with AI: AI-assisted development is core to how we build, not a side experiment. We use modern AI coding agents to remove the drudgery so engineers can focus on the high-value decisions: architecture, trade-offs, and getting the right thing built. Humans own every change, and quality is held by review and ownership, not by the tool. As a Tech Lead you will help raise the quality and consistency of how the team uses AI: knowing the domain and the codebase well enough to steer the tools, avoid reinventing what already exists, and articulate intent clearly so the AI accelerates good engineering rather than multiplying mediocre code.
