⭐Our Design team
We’re a team of 100+ designers, researchers, and brand experts led by Chief Design Officer Vuokko Aro. We’re on a mission to make
money work for everyone. Product Design makes up almost half of our design disciplines, working in tight-knit squads alongside
research, product, and engineering to solve real customer problems at scale.
We design for the "magic moments"
We’ve built a bank that feels human, not just functional. Our product is our personality. We blend research, empathy, and craft to
turn everyday interactions into memorable experiences.
Right now, we’re growing fast and looking for passionate designers to shape Monzo’s future and there’s a huge opportunity to make
your mark.
The Operations Collective is where we design how help and customer support works at Monzo. We think holistically about the
experience of getting support as a customer, and how that connects to the systems, tools, and people behind the scenes.
We’re focused on delivering effortless, tech-led support experiences that can scale as Monzo grows. That means understanding
customer problems deeply, preventing support needs where possible, solving issues at their source within the product, and
designing seamless journeys whether customers self-serve or speak to a customer support agent.
AI and automation play a central role, empowering customers to resolve simpler issues independently, and equipping our operations
teams with intelligent tools to handle more complex cases with confidence and speed. We design across the full ecosystem: customer
journeys, internal platforms, routing, and the foundations that enable us to scale safely.
There’s a real opportunity to shape how help works across Monzo, end to end.

WHO WE ARE ABOUT STRIPE Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career. ABOUT THE TEAM The Product Design team defines and delivers user-facing experiences across Stripe. Product Designers work closely with engineers, product managers, researchers, strategists, operations, data scientists, and marketers to shape products from early strategy through launch and iteration. You'll be joining the Risk team, which shapes how businesses get started on Stripe, build trust, stay compliant, and grow with confidence. The work spans businesses of every size and helps keep both our users and the Stripe ecosystem safe. Risk is a high-impact design space where the problems are both strategic and complex. As a designer on the team, you'll help bring clarity to critical user moments, reduce friction for legitimate businesses, and raise the craft bar where trust, ease, and confidence matter most. This role is a strong fit for a designer who is energized by complexity, motivated by impact, and excited to turn difficult systems into simple, intuitive experiences. WHAT YOU'LL DO In this role, you'll design experiences that help businesses start and grow successfully on Stripe. You'll work closely with cross-functional partners to define problems, shape direction, and ship high-quality experiences. RESPONSIBILITIES * Translate complex systems, policies, and operational constraints into clear, thoughtful product experiences * Identify high-leverage opportunities that improve coherence across journeys, touchpoints, and surfaces * Partner closely with PMs, engineers, researchers, operations, and strategists to shape product direction and drive user and business outcomes * Develop both long-term strategy and pragmatic short-term solutions * Design, prototype, and communicate ideas with creative storytelling and demos * Use qualitative and quantitative signals to inform decisions and evaluate impact * Raise the craft bar in a domain where quality and trust matter deeply * Work closely with engineering to ensure a high bar for craft and implementation qualityContribute to shared patterns and systems that help the broader Risk organization build with coherence WHO YOU ARE We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 10+ years of relevant product design experience at a product-driven technology company * A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent craft, systems thinking, and end-to-end design, including a strong understanding of AI tools * Experience working on complex product areas with multiple stakeholders, constraints, and interconnected workflows * Strong product thinking and the ability to shape direction, not just execute against requirements * Demonstrated ability to prototype and design across multiple touchpoints and surfaces * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence through clear design rationale and artifacts PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Think in systems and design solutions that scale across users, workflows, and surfaces * Have strong product judgment and influence beyond the UI * Care deeply about quality from concept through implementation * Move fluidly between big-picture thinking and interaction-level craft * Are energized by ambiguous, strategic problem spaces—not just well-defined execution * Are comfortable operating in fast-moving environments where priorities may shift in response to policy, operational, or regulatory needs
At Fonoa, we are transforming how digital-first companies stay tax compliant. We provide simple and modular API solutions that easily integrate into any existing workflow. Through our technology-first approach, we reduce manual processes, increase compliance and reduce the cost of operations when transacting and scaling internationally. We are solving one of the largest yet unsolved problems in global e-commerce. Our tax automation software enables companies such as Uber, Zoom & Booking.com to expand their international offerings more quickly and remain tax-compliant. Role Description We're looking for a Staff Product Designer to help shape the future of Fonoa's AI-native Tax Operating System. You'll design new AI-powered products and experiences, simplify complex tax workflows, and help define the future of our platform. You'll join an independent Design organization, working alongside a high-caliber team of designers, product managers, engineers, and tax managers. As one of our senior individual contributors, you'll have the opportunity to shape our products, influence a brand new design system from the ground up, and raise the quality bar across everything we build. This is a hands-on Staff IC role reporting to the Head of Design, with a strong focus on systems thinking, craft, and execution. What you'll do * Shape the next generation of Fonoa. Design new AI-powered products and experiences that become core parts of our Tax Operating System. * Own products end to end. Lead the design process from problem framing and research through interaction design, visual craft, prototyping, and launch. * Simplify complexity. Turn sophisticated tax, regulatory, and AI workflows into intuitive experiences that customers trust. * Think in systems. Design scalable foundations, contribute to our new design system, and create patterns that enable future products. * Partner across disciplines. Work closely with Product, Engineering, AI, Tax, and User Research to shape product direction, not just execute requirements. * Raise the quality bar. Champion exceptional craft, attention to detail, and thoughtful execution across everything we build. What we're looking for * Exceptional product craft. You care deeply about interaction design, visual quality, motion, and the details that make products feel effortless. * Strong systems thinking. You can design both individual experiences and the larger product architecture behind them. * Experience building design systems. You've created or significantly evolved systems that scale across products and teams. * Complex product experience. You've designed sophisticated B2B, enterprise, fintech, developer, or infrastructure products where simplifying complexity was central to your work. * AI curiosity. You're excited about designing AI-native experiences that solve real customer problems, not just adding AI for its own sake. * A strong portfolio. Your work demonstrates end-to-end ownership, clear thinking, and measurable impact, not just polished visuals. * Collaborative mindset. You communicate clearly, challenge ideas thoughtfully, and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams. As part of the recruitment process at Fonoa, we process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Notice for Job Applicants. This notice explains how and why your data is collected and used, and how you can contact us if you have any concerns.
