With Grafana Cloud's actually useful AI, organizations can see, understand, and act on all their disparate data to move at the speed of their ambitions. We are a 100% remote company with 1,600+ team members across 40+ countries, and we’re backed by leading investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, GIC, Coatue, J.P. Morgan, CapitalG, and Lead Edge Capital. Learn more at grafana.com [http://grafana.com] and follow us on LinkedIn [https://www.linkedin.com/company/grafana-labs/] and X [https://twitter.com/grafana]. We’re scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different: an open-source legacy, a global collaborative culture, and a passion for meaningful work. Our team thrives in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do. You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity. This is a remote opportunity, and we would be interested in applicants located in Spain, Sweden, UK, Ireland or Germany. SOFTWARE ENGINEER - SYNTHETIC MONITORING The Opportunity: The Synthetic Monitoring squad builds and operates Grafana Cloud Synthetic Monitoring [https://grafana.com/products/cloud/synthetic-monitoring/], used by teams globally to proactively verify that their critical user journeys, APIs, and services work as expected - before their customers notice they don't. Synthetic Monitoring is a multi-tenant distributed system implemented in Go, running on Kubernetes across all major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), executing billions of synthetic tests each month from probe locations around the world and from customer-operated private probes. The product is in a scale phase, and our focus is on making Synthetic Monitoring a deeply integrated part of Grafana Cloud: connecting checks to real user experience and cross-product investigation workflows, making check results a trusted signal for AI-assisted workflows, and enabling large organizations to operate the product at enterprise scale on our infrastructure and on their own private probes. The role is full-stack in the real sense: the same engineer who designs how a check execution flows through scheduling, probes, and the telemetry pipeline should also be able to build the workflow that lets a user understand and act on the result. As a company we are remote-first and global, we embrace people of different experiences and backgrounds to build diverse teams where every person brings a new perspective to the software. We are looking for Software Engineers who are passionate about building reliable systems and providing seamless experiences for our customers to join our growing team! Our stack is Golang, Typescript and React, but we build tools for people using many other stacks. What you'll be doing: As a Software Engineer on the Synthetic Monitoring squad, you will work across the whole system - Go services and agents on the backend, a TypeScript/React application on the frontend and you'll be expected to reason about it as one system, not two halves. Specifically, you will: * Own features end-to-end across the stack: from API and data model design in Go, through the execution pipeline, to the user-facing workflows in TypeScript/React * Design and evolve systems, not just features: contribute to architectural decisions on scheduling, probe lifecycle, telemetry ingestion, and API design that shape how the product scales * Build the cross-product and AI-assisted workflows that connect Synthetic Monitoring to the wider Grafana Cloud platform * Make the product operable at enterprise scale: the governance and organization primitives that let teams with hundreds of checks manage Synthetic Monitoring as code and with confidence * Break down complex, ambiguous problems into incremental deliverables and iterate quickly based on feedback * Ensure quality through testing, observability of your own systems, and documentation: our checks are something customers alert on, so reliability is a feature * Be a part of the team's on-call rotation and take ownership of the services you're running We invest heavily in developer productivity. You can use modern AI coding assistants as part of your daily workflow (your choice of tools, within security guidelines), backed by a company-funded usage budget so you can iterate quickly without unnecessary friction. We encourage pragmatic AI-assisted development: faster prototyping, test generation, refactors, documentation, and incident follow-ups—always with strong code review and quality standards. You'll also have access to the latest frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. Technologies you'll work with: * Go (backend services, APIs, and the synthetic monitoring agent) * TypeScript / React (the Synthetic Monitoring app in Grafana) * Kubernetes across AWS, GCP, and Azure * k6 (the execution engine behind scripted and browser checks) * Grafana ecosystem (Mimir, Loki, Prometheus) What Makes You a Great Fit: * You are comfortable working in a remote-first company; communication is key. * For us, working together means being collaborative, friendly, kind, and respectful. We operate by consensus. You can contribute to a discussion, disagree constructively, and commit to the team's decision. You are able to communicate design decisions clearly in written and spoken English. * Strong Go, or a path to it. We build Synthetic Monitoring in Go. Deep experience building and operating production backend systems in another systems language (Rust, Java, C++) translates well; backend experience limited to JavaScript/Node.js runtimes does not. * Operational mindset. You've run what you've built: you've owned production services, understand what it means to carry a pager, and treat reliability and toil reduction as part of the product. * You are a systems thinker: you reason about how components interact - data flow, failure modes, cost, and operational behavior - not just how a single feature works in isolation. * Pragmatism and short feedback loops. You break complex problems into increments: analyze, design, deliver an MVP, learn, iterate. You are able to design a solution, get feedback, and write a prototype by yourself - the ability to work on your own is crucial. * You have a good understanding of a software development process that takes a user-centered approach. You easily build an understanding of the users' context and goals which will help you build the right solution with the maximum value. * You use AI tools as a natural part of your engineering workflow - whether for accelerating exploration, code review, or reasoning through design tradeoffs - and you're thoughtful about where they help and where they don't. Bonus Points For: * Experience designing or operating multi-tenant SaaS systems at scale * Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, Sentry, etc.) * Experience with Kubernetes in a production environment * Familiarity with k6, Playwright, or browser automation at scale * Experience contributing to or maintaining open source projects Compensation & Rewards: In Germany, the Base compensation range for this role is EUR 76,000 - EUR 95,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process. Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable) and other benefits listed here [https://grafana.com/about/careers/#jobs]. *Compensation ranges are country specific. If you are applying for this role from a different location than listed above, your recruiter will discuss your specific market’s defined pay range & benefits at the beginning of the process *Compensation ranges are country specific. About Elyos AI We’re building the next generation of customer service with AI Agents. Our agents answer calls, reply to emails and WhatsApp messages, make bookings, take payments, and operate the CRM in the same way a human would. We founded Elyos in June 2023 and took part in the Y Combinator S23 batch. Our founders spent four months in San Francisco living and breathing AI. Since then, we’ve been growing revenue ~30% month on month and shipping fast. It’s been wild so far - and we’re just getting started. We recently raised a $13m series A to turbocharge our growth. WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS Elyos started with owner-operated trades businesses, and that engine is flying. But the biggest opportunity in front of us is enterprise: housing associations, PE-backed trades rollups, national maintenance and FM groups, and multi-site field service operators. These organisations handle enormous call volumes, run complex operations across dozens of locations, and feel the cost of every missed call and no-access visit at scale. Our founders have been closing these deals directly: building trust, running pilots, and expanding site by site. Your job is to take that founder-led motion and turn it into a repeatable, scalable enterprise engine that you own end to end. This is not a high-volume transactional sales role. It's a foundational enterprise role where you'll shape how Elyos wins, deploys, and grows inside large organisations. WHAT YOU'LL DO The role spans two tightly connected tracks. Success means owning both. ENTERPRISE ORIGINATION & EXPANSION How Elyos enters large organisations and grows over time * Own relationships with enterprise accounts: housing associations, PE-backed rollups, franchise networks, and national field service groups (multi-site, multi-region). * Navigate complex buying committees: operations directors, contact centre leaders, IT, procurement, and investors. * Design phased entry models: pilots, limited rollouts, and structured expansion plans. * Run 3-6 month expansion cycles, proving value site by site and region by region. * Turn founder-led wins into a repeatable playbook that others can run as we scale the team. ENTERPRISE DEPLOYMENT & VALUE REALISATION How Elyos proves impact and earns trust at scale * Work with customers as design partners, shaping how Elyos is deployed across large, complex organisations. * Partner closely with product and engineering to influence roadmap, packaging, security, and rollout strategy. * Define and communicate enterprise ROI: call capture, booked jobs, reduced no-access rates, and operational reliability. * Translate outcomes into executive-ready narratives for leadership teams, boards, and PE stakeholders. * Drive durable expansion across portfolios once value is proven. WHO YOU ARE * Customer-obsessed: You start with the customer. You empathise with their needs, ask the right questions, and build with their success in mind. * Biased for action: You try stuff. You move quickly, experiment often, and aren't afraid to learn in public. * Owner's mindset: You don't wait for permission. You take responsibility for outcomes and raise the bar for the whole team. * A systems thinker: You enjoy designing repeatable motions, not bespoke one-offs. You want to build the playbook, not inherit one. * Ambitious & bold: You think big and take bets. You're excited by markets and deal sizes others might shy away from. * Care deeply: You give a shit about the quality of your work. If a deal or a deployment isn't great, it nags at you until you make it better. WHAT YOU BRING * 6+ years of experience selling complex B2B or vertical SaaS solutions, with time spent in enterprise or strategic accounts. * A track record of closing and expanding six-figure ACV enterprise accounts. * Experience selling to multi-location operators: housing associations, PE-backed groups, franchise systems, or national service businesses is a strong plus. * Comfort building new motions from scratch in a fast-moving startup, without a finished playbook. * Executive presence and the ability to translate AI and technical capability into business impact. * Bias toward outcomes: adoption, expansion, and real revenue. BONUS IF YOU HAVE * Experience in field services, FM, social housing, utilities, or adjacent industries. * Familiarity with AI, voice, or contact centre technology. * Experience working alongside founders to formalise an early enterprise motion. PERKS & BENEFITS * 💸 Competitive salary & equity - we are building together, we win together * 📚 AI-focused learning & development - stay ahead of the curve. * ✈️ Team socials & annual offsites - cool destinations included(last year we went to Greece!). * 🏥 Private healthcare - because your well-being matters.
