We have large expertise in Chemical Engineering, combining experimental research with modelling techniques. Our division has a strong tradition of addressing both fundamental scientific questions and applied challenges through close collaboration with industry. We work with various sectors, including forestry, pharmaceuticals, refineries, chemicals, automotive, and equipment manufacturers. About the research project The main goal of the project is to increase Swedish production of sustainable biofuels by efficiently combining and refining various bio-liquids, including pyrolysis oil made from forest and agricultural residues. The project is interdisciplinary and includes research on catalytic upgrading of bio-liquids, AI-assisted data analysis, and comprehensive system and energy analyses. The project will involve collaboration with another postdoctoral researcher who is focusing on energy analyses. Who we are looking for The following requirements are mandatory: A doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Experience in catalysis and reactor experiments.
The following experience will strengthen your application: It is highly meritorious if the doctoral degree has been obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline. Experience with AI/machine learning for data analysis is highly meritorious. Experience in other types of simulation is also considered beneficial.
What you will do Synthesise catalysts and characterize them Perform high pressure hydrodeoxygenation experiments, including analysing the products AI-assisted data analysis to support experimental work. Supervise master's and/or PhD students to a certain extent
