THE ROLE The Head of NPI Engineering is responsible for leading the end-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) process within a high-mix, electronic manufacturing environment. This role ensures the seamless transition of products from design through to full-scale production, driving manufacturability, quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery. You will act as the key interface between customers, design engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy * Lead, develop, and mentor the NPI Engineering team * Define and implement NPI strategy aligned with businessobjectivesand customer requirements * Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and engineering excellence New Product Introduction (NPI) * Own the full NPI lifecycle from concept review to production release * Ensure robust Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles are applied * Lead project planning, risk management, and resource allocation for all NPI activities * Act as the primary escalation point for NPI-related issues Customer & Stakeholder Management * Serve as the technical lead for customer engagements during the NPI phase * Collaborate with customers on designoptimisation, cost reduction, and manufacturability improvements * Work cross-functionally with Quality, Supply Chain, Production, andAccountManagement teams Process & Production Readiness * Ensure manufacturing processes, tooling, and test solutions are fullyvalidatedprior to production * Oversee creation and approval of work instructions, process documentation, and control plans * Drive First Article Inspection (FAI) and production readiness reviews Quality & Compliance * Ensure all NPI activities meet regulatory, customer, and industry standards (e.g., IPC standards) * Support root cause analysis and corrective actions during early production phases * Partner with Quality teams to ensure smooth handover to steady-state production Continuous Improvement * AnalyseNPI performance metrics (e.g., time to market, yield, cost variance) * Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies * Identifyopportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, andoptimiseprocesses Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) * On-time NPI delivery * First pass yield / early production yield * Time toproduction release * NPI cost vs. target * Customer satisfaction during NPI phase ABOUT YOU * Proven leadership experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or operations within the electronic manufacturing (EMS) sector * Strong knowledge of PCB assembly, box build, and electronic systems integration * Deep understanding of DFM, DFT, and DFA principles * Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools * Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously * Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills * Experience working directly with customers in a technical or engineering capacity

RESPONSIBILITIES * Develop and maintain demand forecasts and material plans for lab equipment, engineering components, prototype parts, and consumables. * Work closely with Engineering, R&D, and Operations teams to guarantee the smooth implementation of supply chain processes. * Partner with Procurement to ensure timely sourcing and delivery of critical materials and components. * Monitor material readiness, inventory levels, and supplier commitments to prevent disruptions in engineering projects and lab operations. * Analyse material shortages, excess inventory, and supply risks; implement mitigation plans to prevent schedule impacts. * Translate project roadmaps, build schedules, and engineering change activities into actionable material plans. * Perform scenario analysis to determine the impact of supplier lead times, material constraints, demand fluctuations, and schedule changes. * Support New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering builds, and prototype development by ensuring timely availability of materials and equipment. REQUIREMENTS * Over 5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the high-tech industry. * Proven experience in supporting Engineering, R&D, laboratory operations, prototype builds, or NPI programs. * Solid understanding of supply chain planning, demand forecasting, and inventory management. * Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. * Proficiency in Excel (including VBA), data modeling, automation, and ERP systems. * Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Superset. * Strong communication and reporting skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across teams. * Hardware product-related sourcing experience is strictly required. This role is within the Chromalloy New York Engineering Organization. The role reports to the Non-Repair Engineering Manager. Responsible for technical/production support, process/product development and optimization of aerospace and industrial gas turbine systems for assigned areas and its applicability to NPI and OEM businesses. Leading moderate scope projects producing new designs and processes; utilizing lean tools and methodologies to positively impact the business metrics. The Engineer will report regularly on project updates, lead or participate in technical meetings, communicate with various organizations including Chromalloy Center of Excellence, Operations, Quality, Customer Support, in a matrix structure. Must be willing to work onsite in Orangeburg, NY. No remote or hybrid work available. Key Responsibilities: * Candidate must be a self-starter, able to work in a dynamic team environment. * Collaborates effectively in an integrated team environment to develop robust manufacturing processes that meet site, corporate and customer requirements for schedule, cost, performance. * Special processes include one or more of the following: thermal spray (APS, LPPS), EBPVD, diffusion coatings (VPA, pack cementation), precious metal plating, specialty welding, machining, laser processes, EDM, heat treatment, braze, chemical cleaning and stripping. * Ensure that products and related processes meet quality requirements and operational objectives. * Publish technical reports, assist in development of work instructions, operator training material on special process procedures in the assigned technical area. * Lead problem solving teams and conduct RCCAs on equipment and process related issues addressing manufacturing challenges. * Assist in equipment and process troubleshooting. * Recommend and initiate changes in the present processes and/or equipment to improve safety, quality and productivity. * Support new program launches and acceptance of new processes. Monitor daily quality and productivity results, react to problems as they occur. * Participate in and lead design reviews with process engineers and repair development engineers. * Train less experienced team members. Qualifications: * Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering preferred. Other disciplines from an accredited university or college are also considered. * 2+ years or more experience in design, manufacturing, or repair engineering * Experience in the aerospace industry is preferred. * Detailed knowledge of gas turbine manufacturing and repair processes is preferred. * Knowledge of FAA guidelines for PMA and RS-DER requirements and compliance testing is highly desirable. * Familiarity with NADCAP or similar industrial quality certifications is a plus. * Experience with high temperature material systems is preferred. * Experience with continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, design thinking methodologies is a plus.
