With over a decade of experience as a regulated payments provider, Modulr delivers the reliability needed to run mission-critical finance operations at scale.   Find out more about us on our website and careers site.   What You’ll Do  You'll join a close-knit and high-performing legal function in London, working across a wide variety of legal matters that keep pace with the growth of the business. Day-to-day this means:  *  Negotiating and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts, client agreements, supplier contracts, technology deals and key banking relationships  * Providing practical, commercially grounded regulatory and legal advice across multiple business functions  * Supporting the legal team's work on data protection, IP and emerging areas as needed  * Contributing to legal team projects improving templates, processes and governance as the function scales  * Working directly with senior stakeholders across the business, including at C-suite level   * Managing and working with external law firms on differing litigation matters  Who You Are  What you’ll need  We're looking for someone who brings both strong legal skills and the right attitude for fast-paced in-house work:  * Solid commercial contracts experience with a financial services, payments, fintech or banking background  * Data protection experience (GDPR / UK GDPR)  * Comfortable with regulatory complexity - FCA-regulated environment experience is a strong plus  * Whether you're stepping in-house from private practice or moving from another in-house role, you'll need to demonstrate genuine commercial pragmatism and an appetite for breadth  * Calm under pressure, great with people, and genuinely excited about AI and technology  * Experience working cross-jurisdiction is advantageous     What We Offer You  * Share Options – We offer a Company Share Option Plan (CSOP), giving you the opportunity to benefit from any increase in share value in the event of a sale, merger, or flotation.  * Bonus – Our annual discretionary bonus, paid in May for the previous year, is based on both company and individual performance.  * Flexible benefits - £1000 to spend on benefits to suit you, including private medical insurance, gym membership, dental etc.   * Wellbeing app – confidential, on-demand access to therapy, coaching, counselling, management training or mindfulness sessions with accredited professionals, with company-funded hours and top-up options available.  * Holidays - 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays) plus your birthday off. ABOUT THE ROLE: SpaceXAI is seeking an mid-level attorney to support its non-U.S. regulatory litigation efforts around the world. This role would involve assisting the team on responses to RFIs, regulatory investigations, and government enforcement actions outside the United States. This role requires strong strategic thinking, attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to build good relationships with internal clients. The ideal candidate will have 5-9 years of post-qualified experience (PQE), including strong litigation and/or contentious regulatory experience. Experience with social media industry regulations is a plus but not required. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Support all efforts globally, other than in the United States, to respond to RFIs, regulatory investigations, and government enforcement actions. * Coordinate with business functions and other members of the legal team to ensure accurate and timely responses to government regulators. * Interact candidly and respectfully with government regulators internationally. * Aggressively manage outside counsel spend. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * Law degree * Minimum 5 years PQE, including substantial experience responding to regulatory inquiries * Demonstrated history of excellence COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: £88,000 - £192,000 GBP Base salary is just one part of our total rewards package at SpaceXAI, which also includes equity, comprehensive healthcare and dental coverage, cash plan, income protection, life insurance, and various other discounts and perks.
