The individual will have responsibility for subsidiaries and is an excellent opportunity for a quick learner who is willing to challenge existing processes. The role is based in the London Financial Accounting team who have responsibility for maintaining the accurate accounting books and records for the Group’s UK based subsidiaries and a selection of overseas entities. The team is also responsible for legal entity board, regulatory and statutory reporting, and month end reporting to the Group Reporting team. This role involves liaising with the auditors and other teams within Finance and the organisation (locally and in our global offices), including Treasury, Tax, Group Reporting, Legal, Company Secretarial and Operations. This role will also assist with ad-hoc projects as required. Specific responsibilities * Perform monthly financial accounting activities for all entities within the individual’s area of responsibility, ensuring that the general ledger is accurate and complete and that all analytical reviews and balance sheet reconciliations have been completed and reviewed and review points are addressed * Prepare local GAAP statutory financial statements and tax returns for all relevant entities * Prepare regulatory returns for regulated entities, liaising with local regulatory advisors as required * Prepare board reporting for legal entities as required * Liaise with auditors and tax advisors, ensuring the delivery of information to support the preparation of local tax returns and other tax filings as required * Execution and ownership of centralised process such as fixed assets or transfer pricing * Ongoing liaison with other teams within Finance, including US and Swiss Financial Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Group Reporting and Finance Business Partners to support the delivery of information to and from them in a timely, accurate and efficient manner * Taking a proactive role in improving existing processes * Provide support and mentoring to junior staff * Supporting other Financial Control and Reporting initiatives and projects as required Key competencies * Accounting: ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification * Experience: Good knowledge of financial accounting, including technical accounting * IT Skills: Must be computer literate with strong excel skills and have the ability to learn new systems Experience with general ledger systems would be advantageous * Interpersonal: Communication, organisation, and presentation skills together with the ability to confidently deal with multiple stakeholders * Other: Individual should have a pro-active attitude and be a quick learner with attention to detail Inclusion, Work-Life Balance and Benefits at Man Group You'll thrive in our working environment that champions equality of opportunity. THE ROLE We're seeking a Management Accountant, preferably based in the UK (London) and fluent in English (other languages such as Italian or Spanish would be a plus). You will support in managing Group-owned fund entities end to end – accounting is currently outsourced but can be in-housed in the future and be part of the scope of your role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES This will be an integral role in the Group Finance team with the following responsibilities: * Review Quarterly Management Accounts from external administrators * Review loan workings on quarterly basis * Review Quarterly Capital Account Statements from external administrators * Calculation of both monthly and quarterly inter-group invoicing in line with transfer pricing guidelines * Management of the year-end Financial Statements for all corporate fund entities * Manipulate and upload corporate fund entities data into NetSuite (Accounting software) * Ad-hoc direct bookkeeping in NetSuite * Daily collaboration and communication with outsourced administrators and various third-party providers * Review the information provided by the outsourced provider * Assist in consolidating the fund entities * Assist in improving month end close process and management * Manage payment and approvals for corporate fund entities * Manage monthly cashflow forecasting for corporate fund entities including CapAd calculations performed * Manage monthly cash sweeping mechanism for corporate fund entities * Maintenance of monthly cash concentration loan interest file * Manage payment requests for corporate fund entities * Review and approve quarterly Notices; GPS/Rebate workings and Equalisation workings in collaboration with Fund Team * Maintain invoice register and bank reconciliations for fund entities * Maintain shared files * Assist with co-sec activities and loan documentation between group entities * Assist with FCA reporting throughout the year * Track fund fees and rebate in the summary workbook * Provide a degree of control over fund commitments * Ad hoc activities as required by group finance SKILLS & COMPETENCIES To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: * Time management & prioritization skills - things can get a little hectic, so the ability to effectively manage yourself and your workload is critical * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (in English or/and other European languages) - you must be able to organize your thoughts in a way that others find clear and compelling. You will be expected to together well-written, grammatically correct emails and other communications.
