About Universal Design Studio Universal Design Studio was founded in 2001 by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby in Shoreditch, London. The studio is driven by a deeply held belief in the transformative power of well designed, finely crafted spaces with a process rooted in design-led strategy and research. The studio’s work foregrounds the experience of the people that inhabit our spaces, with an emphasis on adaptability and rigour. Over the past two decades, Universal’s portfolio has grown to encompass hotels and restaurants, retail environments, workspaces, residential, master planning and public realm design. Alongside this, the studio has executed culturally significant projects for galleries and cultural institutions across the globe. Clients include Ace Hotel, Fortnum & Mason, At Six Stockholm, The Office Group, Rimowa, the Victoria & Albert Museum, IBM, Google and Frieze Art Fair amongst others. The studio is co-directed by Jason Holley and Paul Gulati. SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE We are keen to meet freelance architects and interior designers to work with us on our exciting upcoming projects. You will have worked across at least one of our key sectors: workplace, hospitality, cultural & retail. We need you to have solid experience producing drawing packages, preferably in Vectorworks. Applications are assessed on a rolling basis, so please don't hesitate to submit your application. About the team: At SumUp, we’re on a mission to empower small businesses globally – while building meaningful connections between merchants and their customers. Within the Consumer Tribe, the Consumer Bank squad is at the heart of one of SumUp's most exciting growth bets – scaling SumUp Pay to an ambitious Monthly Active User target. The team designs end-to-end experiences across the full user lifecycle: from onboarding and account activation to driving engagement through features like Spaces, Open Banking insights, and budget tracking. As a Senior Product Designer working alongside other designers in this team, you’ll be embedded in a cross-functional squad alongside Product Managers and Engineers, owning end-to-end design from discovery through delivery. Design plays a critical role here – not just in execution, but in defining the problems worth solving. The team works with a strong focus on user research, hypothesis-driven design, and continuous iteration, ensuring that every design decision is grounded in real user needs and measurable impact. You’ll contribute to high-impact areas of the product where thoughtful design directly influences key metrics like activation, engagement, and conversion. At the same time, you’ll help evolve our design system and ensure consistency and quality across the experience, especially as SumUp undergoes a broader brand transformation and scales its consumer offering. This is a team that values strong design thinking, autonomy, and collaboration – where designers are empowered to challenge assumptions, shape product direction, and deliver meaningful outcomes in a fast-moving, product-driven environment. We’re looking for someone who’s eager to learn, with proven creative writing skills (and fluent/professional proficiency in English), to be our full-time, in-house Copywriter. As our new Copywriter, you will write communications and help develop engaging activations for global clients, based on a clear understanding of their TOVs, business objectives and audiences. Your primary job will be to create compelling copy for CRM, loyalty and other comms channels. You will: * write original copy in American or British English for emails, push notifications, and paid media; * revise copy based on internal and client feedback; * flawlessly proofread new business and pitch decks; * study insights or reports to give your copy a strong conceptual foundation; * lean on brand playbooks and tone of voice guides; * leverage new, emerging technologies to be the most creative, most efficient writer you can be; * play an active role in projects, from initial idea generation to execution and approval.
