THE COMPANY Octopus Legacy is one of the UK's fastest growing startups, helping over 1 million people plan for and navigate through death - but we're just getting started. After our founder Sam lost his mum suddenly, we built what the market had never seen: a service that combines estate planning and bereavement support with something genuinely human. Voice notes. Music. Recipes. A legacy that actually means something. We're not competing in this space. We're redefining it. Backed by Octopus Group, we're the best positioned business in the market to scale across UK financial services, and we're moving fast. This role is how we get there. THE ROLE We’re growing a high-impact enterprise sales engine. You'll own the full cycle from pipeline to close, building and converting strategic partnerships within your distribution channel. Some are brand new channels - with real opportunity to shape the product and go-to-market strategy. Others are established channels, with the focus being depth and scale. If you have an interest in a particular space, let us know! You’ll work closely with the CEO and Head of New Business, and have genuine influence over how we grow our market share and help our prospective partners reimagine how they plan for death. You'll own the deal from start to finish - you'll need the outbound hunger to go and find opportunities, and the relationship tact and commercial polish to close. The balance of those two things will depend on your channel — we're hiring across both ends of that spectrum. You'll be selling with the Octopus Group name behind you. One of the UK's most recognised and trusted brands, with over 7 million customers and a reputation that opens doors before you've said a word. We have the product, the backing and the market timing. We need the person who can go and close it. Octopus already has deep relationships with thousands of financial partners, employers and charities across the UK. This role gets to leverage that network to scale our proposition. Few sales roles give you this combination: a brand that opens doors, a product people genuinely care about, enough white space to make the role your own, and a clear path into a senior commercial role as we scale. If you want to build, not inherit, this is it. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Leverage existing relationships across the Octopus Group to open doors faster. * Map your channel and build a targeted pipeline. Whether that's employer networks, IFA platforms, charities or financial institutions, you'll identify the right partners and convert them into long-term relationships that scale. * Get us known. Whether that's speaking at industry events, doing outbound reach, hosting roundtables or simply being visible in your market. People know Octopus. This is a hunting role and about showcasing the breadth of what we can now offer. * Run deals end-to-end. From the first conversation to a signed contract, you'll navigate organisations with multiple stakeholders, run demos, align commercial terms and get ink on paper. * Build partner-specific business cases that show how our platform adds real value to their customers. * Grow senior relationships within your channel. The kind of conversations where partnerships are shaped, not just sold. WHO YOU ARE * 2 - 4 + years of experience in a sales role, we’re open to scoping this role up and relevant backgrounds like recruitment, relationship management, brokers etc. * Experience selling into financial services, IFAs, brokers or intermediaries is a strong plus, but not essential. * Comfortable on the phone and in the demo. You enjoy outbound work, you're confident running a structured demo, and you can adapt your style to whoever's in the room. * Naturally curious. You dig into how a partner's business actually runs before the demo. You understand their clients, their pain points and where we fit. * Direct. With prospects, with the team, with yourself. You say what you think and adjust based on what's working, not what you hoped would work. * You don't need managing. You set your own pace, build your own structure and get on with it. * Comfortable without a playbook. You can take a rough proposition and figure out how to make it land - you've either done it before or you've been itching to. * You actually care about this. You can explain why bereavement support and estate planning matter - and make IFAs care too, because we do. * You understand what it means to operate in FCA-regulated environments, Consumer Duty, and you take that seriously. BENEFITS * Flexible working: 3 days in the office (London Bridge), up to 2 days remote * Work from anywhere in the world for up to 4 weeks per year * An extra holiday day for your birthday * Life insurance, Health insurance, Will & LPAs * Octopus share incentive scheme * Cycle to Work Scheme and access to the Electric Vehicle (EV) Salary Sacrifice Scheme * Octopus Giving: we match any charitable fundraising that you do up to £500 * Octopus Springboard: where we help our employees become fully-fledged entrepreneurs If you are not 100% sure if you are right for the role, please apply regardless and we will be happy to consider your application. We know that to be truly innovative, we need to have a diverse team around us. That is why Octopus Legacy is committed to creating an inclusive environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
