What you’ll be doing As an Associate Engineering Manager, you’ll play a key role in turning Satispay into the financial home of every Italian business. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like: * Lead and grow a Business-oriented team: own the day-to-day of a team of 5–8 engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and continuous improvement * Drive the delivery of ambitious projects: translate product and business goals into a clear technical roadmap, and ensure the team executes on it reliably and predictably * Collaborate across domains: work closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to align on dependencies, priorities, and shared standards * Hire and develop talent: participate in recruiting to grow the team, and actively invest in the growth of individual engineers through feedback, mentorship, and stretch opportunities. * Report up and communicate clearly: keep leadership informed on progress, risks, and blockers, translating technical complexity into business-relevant terms. Does this sound like you? * Engineering Leadership Experience: 5+ years in backend engineering, with at least 2 in a team lead or tech lead role managing a squad in a product-driven environment. * Backend Expertise: strong command of distributed systems and API design, with a track record of delivering robust, scalable services in a high-growth or regulated industry. * Proven Delivery Ownership: demonstrated ability to own end-to-end delivery of complex features, from technical scoping and planning to production rollout, balancing speed with quality. * Clear and Effective Communication in English: comfortable engaging with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders; able to represent your team's work to leadership and translate business needs into technical direction * Passion for Fintech and Financial Products: genuine interest in how technology is reshaping the way businesses manage money, with an appreciation for the responsibility that comes with building in a regulated, high-trust environment. What you’ll be doing As an Associate Engineering Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping how millions of users save, invest, and grow their money. Moving beyond individual contributions, your primary focus will be on team success, delivery, and people growth. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like: * Lead and grow a Consumer-oriented team: Own the day-to-day management of a squad of 3-5 engineers. Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring high team morale. * People Management & Mentorship: Actively invest in the growth of your team members through regular 1:1s, actionable feedback, performance reviews, and identifying stretch opportunities to help them advance their careers. * Drive delivery and technical execution: Translate product and business goals into a clear, predictable technical roadmap. As a hands-on Engineering Manager, you'll lead a team of skilled engineers in defining and delivering the technical roadmap for our products. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll help shape product strategy and direction, while representing engineering in key technical discussions. Your work will directly influence product quality, scalability, and innovation, playing a critical role in our overall success.
