that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
Our Future Projects unit is dedicated to expanding and complementing these capabilities by conceptualizing and pre-developing new
technologies, products and programs.
We want you as a talented and experienced Avionics, Communications and Power Engineer to help us in our mission by developing and
testing critical software responsible for the operation of our new technologies and products. You will be part of the Future
Projects Team working on the development of a robotic orbital station aiming at supporting the In Space Operations and Services
eco-system, unlocking the resupply of servicers in satellites parts and propellant, and performing complexe robotic-assisted
in-orbit experiments.
In your capacity as Avionics, Communications and Power Engineer, your role will continuously evolve, but initially your day-to-day
baselines to ensure that the design answers the needs of the respective project
related work packages to submit winning proposals for new future projects

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * System Architecture & Design * Define the Electrical Power System architecture in coordination with system engineering and mission requirements. * Size and specify solar arrays, batteries, and power conditioning/distribution units. * Ensure optimal power generation, storage, and distribution strategy across all mission phases and failure scenario and failure scenario * Component Selection & Specification * Evaluate and select flight-qualified components: solar cells, battery design, power conversion and protection elements. * Support the design of power conditioning and distribution units * Generate technical specifications * Analysis & Simulation * Conduct worst-case, reliability, and redundancy analyses in accordance with ECSS/NASA standards. * Integration & Testing * Define and execute Electrical Power System verification and validation plans (unit, subsystem, and system levels). * Support integration of Electrical Power System with other subsystems of the spacecraft. * Participate in environmental testing: vibration, thermal vacuum, EMC. * Project & Supplier Coordination * Interface with suppliers for COTS and internal teams for in-house designed power system components. * Support project development logic, planning, risk assessment, and technical reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR). * Documentation & Standards Compliance * Produce detailed documentation for design, analysis, test procedures, and compliance reports. * Ensure compliance with space-grade standards (NASA-STD, ECSS) * Contribute actively to reviews with customers and certification authorities for the Electrical Power System. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. * Minimum 3–5 years of experience in spacecraft Electrical Power System or avionics system development. * Good level of understanding of the following domains: * Solar array systems * Space-qualified batteries * Power converters (DC/DC), MPPT, PCDU design * Power distribution architectures (bus, switched, redundant) * General electronics * Proficiency with simulation and software development tools (e.g. Github, Python). * Familiarity with ECSS/NASA standards and derating rules for space hardware. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills. * Fluent in English; ability to write clear technical specifications and reports. DESIRABLE SKILLS * Experience with spacecraft platforms. * Experience with Lithium-Ion Batteries * Experience with battery management systems (BMS) and Battery failure modes. * Experience with solar arrays design and test for space applications Why you should join us! We want you as a talented and experienced Avionics, Communications and Power Engineer to help us in our mission by acting as system engineer for Future Projects that prepare the future growth of the TEC vehicles family and new products. You will be part of the Future Systems team, reporting to the Principal Engineer of the project and working closely with the other engineering disciplines. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES In your capacity as Future Projects Avionics, Communications and Power Engineer, your role will continuously evolve, but initially your day-to-day duties will include: * Take ownership of work packages or full future projects related to Avionics, Communications and Power: * Define functional breakdowns, high level requirements and their associated flow-down and manage / maintain the technical baselines to ensure that the design answers the needs of the respective project * Provide system architectures and conceptual designs, perform technical trade-offs, budget and performance calculations * Provide development logic, implementation, verification and validation plans * Develop hardware solutions for the future projects * Ensure the delivery on time, on quality and on cost of the work packages in your responsibility * In coordination with the Bid Manager, elaborate the technical and programmatic parts for Avionics, Communications and Power related work packages to submit winning proposals for new future projects WHAT WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE FROM YOU In the role as Future Projects Avionics, Communications and Power Engineer ideally, you will have the following: * Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering, or another related field * 5+ years of experience in the design of avionics, communication and power systems for the aerospace sector * Broad understanding of the full functional chain of space-based avionics, communications and power systems * Strong systems engineering background * Hands-on experience with development, assembly, integration and testing of electrical units for space applications Skills and Behaviors * Strong oral and written communication skills * Strong analysis and problem-solving skills * Strong organizing and prioritization of tasks * Positive and flexible attitude to get the job done * Ability to communicate at all levels of the business * Demonstrates behaviours consistent with The Exploration Company’s core values of Mission, Vision, Integrity, Excellence and Teamwork * Space enthusiast: ready to change the global space industry Why you should join us!
