oldest continuously operating commuter railroad in the United States. In 2024, this 24/7/365 operation served 75.5 million riders
on a system that stretches nearly 120 miles – from Penn Station and Grand Central Madison in Manhattan to Montauk on the eastern

Public Ethics. JOB SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for the developing, maintaining, updating, and distribution of Power
department procedures and rules related to technical processes and regulatory requirements. It will be responsible for monitoring
safety notices and changes to safety practices specific to the LIRR and within the railroad industry and communicating these to
senior management, management, supervisors, and field personnel. The position will focus on conducting field observations,
providing directions, and documenting employee compliance with rules and procedures. It will also perform audits in these areas.
The position will be responsible for maintaining compliance metrics and providing statistics to department management. It will
perform Job Hazard Analyses and will assist in developing procedures/resolutions to address hazards found. The position will
develop, implement, and schedule limited training programs on topics specific to the Power Department and for which specialized
technical knowledge is required. Incumbent will develop information, guidelines, and presentations for distribution in the form of
PowerPoint, PDF handouts, and safety posters using current and/or future software. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Training of Power
Department employees in construction, maintenance and repair methods per Engineering department specifications and requirements.
Develop, update and conduct training using mock practical instruction throughout the Power Department. Conducting field
observations and audits, providing direction, and documenting employee compliance with rules procedures and rules. Develop,
coordinate, and maintain training schedules and records of all Power department field employees as required. Monitor and keep
abreast of changes in the power industry and regulatory requirements particularly related to safety and safe work practices.
Identify, communicate and implement changes to LIRR standard and procedures to ensure a safe work environment and compliance.
Periodically audit personal protection equipment (PPE) including Arc flash protection has been ordered/in stock and distributed to
all employees. Respond to Power/Engineering Department emergencies such as weather events, blackouts, and other occurrences that
may impact the movement of trains. This position is required to participate in winter storm response/coverage. Reduce the number
of employee and customer accidents. Perform other assignments as requested by Senior Management. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Administration, Organizational Behavior/Management, Technology/Engineering, or related
field. An additional four years of demonstrated, directly related, equivalent and education may be considered in lieu of the
degree. Minimum 8 years recent practical experience in the electrical field at a railroad / transit environment. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
AND ABILITIES: Must possess detailed knowledge and understanding of Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) rules and procedures. Must
have a thorough understanding of safety policies and practices as they relate to high voltage systems, utility feeders, and
traction power systems. Must be familiar with federal safety and training policies and regulations. Must possess the ability to
read and understand Third Rail drawings, Track Charts and Physical Characteristics maps. Must have strong written and oral
communication skills and keep up to date with system changes. Must be self-motivated and organized with the ability to update the
training program as needed. Must possess strong PC and software application skills (i.e., Microsoft Suite) with the ability to
create presentations in Power Point. Possess an understanding of LIRR power systems, electrical operations with a general
understanding of all other LIRR Engineering disciplines including Track, Communications, Signal, Structures, Grand Central Madison
(GCM) and how they interact with the Power department. Must be able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities. Must be
available to work off hours, weekends, and holidays assigned at various locations and shifts. Prior experience directing employees
in training or in the creation of training classes and programs. Knowledge of Third Rail construction, maintenance, repairs, and
procedures. Knowledge of LIRR physical characteristics (Right of Way facility locations, road charts, etc.). Qualified in a LIRR
Power Discipline. Possess a thorough understanding of electrical theory, codes (like the National Electrical Code and OSHA), and
practical skills in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. OTHER INFORMATION: Employees driving company
vehicles must complete defensive driver training once every three years for current MTA drivers; or within 180 days of hire or
transfer for an employee entering an authorized driving position. LIRR: In addition to meeting the minimum requirements of the
position, the selection process may include but is not limited to, a pre-screening assessment (i.e., physical, written, and/ or
practical evaluation) and interview. Candidates forfeit further consideration in the process if they fail to participate in any
step of the process when scheduled. Make-up dates/times will not be given. In addition, LIRR employee applicants must be in their
current position for the 12 months immediately preceding the close date of this posting and must possess a satisfactory work
history, including attendance and discipline record. A record of more than ten sick days without medical documentation in two of
