Outtake exists to empower and facilitate trust for a digital-first world. Today, impersonation, fraud, AI-driven scams, and
identity abuse spread faster than any security team can respond to. So we built something different: an agentic AI platform that
proactively detects, monitors, and takes down impersonators, automating protection in hours, not weeks.
Built by ex-Palantir, ex-CTO/founders, and ex-Notion engineers, Outtake is designed for clarity, autonomy, and velocity. Our goal
is ambitious: become the trust layer of the modern internet. And we intend to do it with a lean, dense, exceptionally talented
team.
Outtake is backed by top-tier investors and operators who believe in our mission and our model. With strong financial footing and
a long runway, we prioritize creating an environment where people can do the best work of their careers.
This is a product engineering role in the strongest sense of the term.
You work close to customers.
We believe customer proximity is a competitive advantage. Engineers talk directly to customers, join calls, and participate in
tight feedback loops. Forward-deployed work is part of the job - not as support, but as the fastest path to product insight.
You shape what we build.
Engineers here don't wait for fully formed specs. If you see a problem worth solving, you're expected to make the case, design the
experiment, and build the v0. Good product judgment is valued as highly as clean execution.
You ship across the stack.
You'll work wherever the problem is - backend systems processing TBs of internet-scale data, frontend workflows that make complex
analysis feel intuitive, agent frameworks that automate what used to take weeks of manual work. Titles matter less than ownership.
You operate with clarity and focus.
Mondays we align. Fridays we retro. In between, you're trusted to prioritize what matters most - while staying sharp to signal
from customers and the market.
"The team you build is the company you build." — Vinod Khosla
You'll work alongside engineers from Palantir, Notion, Meta, Microsoft, Slack, and Datadog. Several have founded startups.
But credentials aren't the point.
This team cares deeply about craft, slope, and truth-seeking. People pair on hard problems, challenge each other in code review,
and give direct, thoughtful feedback in 1:1s. Mentorship is intentional, not accidental - you'll learn faster here because the bar
is high and the coaching is real.
We're building Outtake to be a long-term network of builders: people who go on to lead teams, start companies, and back each other
over decades. The goal is simple - working here should make you meaningfully better.
YOU
This role tends to excite people who've built something from scratch and want to do it again - with better tools, sharper
teammates, and real distribution.
If you need a roadmap handed to you, this won't be a fit.
If you want to help write the roadmap, you'll feel at home.
What will you have shipped by month 6 that customers are asking about by name?
The engineers who thrive here tend to find a problem early - something they heard on a customer call, noticed in the data, or
couldn't stop thinking about - and make it theirs. Within a few months, they've built something real: a detection capability that
catches what we were missing, a workflow that cuts hours of manual work, a system that makes the next ten features possible.
By month 12, you're not waiting for direction. You're the person others come to for a specific problem space. Customers know your
work. Teammates trust your judgment. And you've shaped what Outtake builds next.

ABOUT OUTTAKE Outtake exists to empower and facilitate trust for a digital-first world. Today, impersonation, fraud, AI-driven scams, and identity abuse spread faster than any security team can respond to. So we built something different: an agentic AI platform that proactively detects, monitors, and takes down impersonators, automating protection in hours, not weeks. Built by ex-Palantir, ex-CTO/founders, and ex-Notion engineers, Outtake is designed for clarity, autonomy, and velocity. Our goal is ambitious: become the trust layer of the modern internet. And we intend to do it with a lean, dense, exceptionally talented team. Outtake is backed by top-tier investors and operators who believe in our mission and our model. With strong financial footing and a long runway, we prioritize creating an environment where people can do the best work of their careers. About the role We’re looking for a Frontend Engineer to define how customers experience Outtake. At a high level, this person will build the FE Software Factory that enables the rest of the team (humans and agents) to ship beautiful, reliable, and consistent user experiences seamlessly. Our product turns a noisy, messy, fast-moving threat landscape into clarity: surfaced risks, evidence, workflows, decisions, and automated action. The frontend is where that complexity becomes legible. It is where customers understand what is happening, trust the system’s recommendations, and take action with confidence. This role is for someone who cares deeply about craft, speed, and product judgment. You should be excited to work close to the customer, translate ambiguous workflows into simple interfaces, and build software that feels fast, intelligent, and obvious. We are early, so this is not a narrow UI implementation role. You will shape product direction, design interaction patterns, make architectural decisions, and set the quality bar for the frontend as the company scales. What you’ll do * Build the agentic coding harness that allows non-frontend devs to ship polished, reliable, and consistent UI * Refine and maintain our design system and design language * Own the core componentry and abstractions that enforce consistency across our workflows, while accelerating other devs and coding agents building new workflows * Own our UI testing framework and ensure we’re shipping reliably * Maintain a high quality bar for FE code by providing thoughtful reviews and coaching backend-leaning devs * Build the agentic UI/UX (chat interfaces, generative UI, or similar) that define how our customers experience the effectiveness of our security agents * Flex as a Product Engineer and build end-to-end products alongside as necessary or desired Requirements * Proficiency with React and Typescript; familiarity with NextJS preferred * Excellent product taste and design sensibilities, ideally with experience building design systems * Experience building complex systems with coding agents, and the judgement to know when they are wrong * Comfort operating in ambiguity, making tradeoffs, and shipping without waiting for perfect specs * Comfort working closely with other engineers, non-technical teammates, and customers * Comfort working across the stack and building end-to-end product Nice to have * Experience building B2B SaaS products, ideally in cybersecurity or related fields * Experience with shadcn, trpc, react-hook-form, Vercel AI SDK * Experience building agentic UI/UX * Experience as a designer or design engineering * Comfort across the stack when needed * Prior startup experience or a track record of thriving in high-ownership environments Why Outtake If you're choosing between us and another AI startup: * We’re taking on the dark side of AI advancement - we protect people from threats that are amplified by rapid advances in AI * The problem space is evolving, and you won’t stop learning - scammers continuously adapt. The problems we’re solving are always changing and demand constant innovation * The impact is immediate and real - attacks stopped, fraud prevented, lives protected, and threats caught that humans alone would miss * The company is thriving - serious customers, real revenue, partnerships with frontier AI labs, and momentum that comes from shipping things people depend on * The people are exceptional - sharp thinkers, strong operators, and teammates you’ll want in your corner for the rest of your career * The upside is meaningful - we’re still early in our journey, and we're tackling a massive problem that's only getting bigger LIFE AT OUTTAKE * Office: For those in NY, we are an in-person team (5 days a week, with flexibility as needed) working out of a stunning waterfront office in Brooklyn. Collaboration, speed, and clarity matter. * Health: 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision for employees. * Time Away: Flexible PTO. We trust adults to manage energy, not clock time. * Culture & Team: Annual company retreats and regular in-person events. Outtake is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive team.

IDEAL CANDIDATE CREDENTIALS * Strong foundational understanding of computer science principles through coursework, personal projects, internships, or prior work experience * 3+ years of professional software engineering experience (internships and part-time roles count!) * Enthusiasm for building high-quality, user-facing products and interest in working across the stack * Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, take ownership of projects, and work independently when needed * Interest in AI/ML technologies and curiosity about building products powered by LLMs BENEFITS Beyond the below, we care deeply about each of our candidates on a personal level. We take the time to understand your needs to craft a package designed for you: * Insurance - 90% health insurance premium coverage * Relocation - for candidates based outside of NYC * Unlimited PTO policy - we trust everyone like owners, take what you need * Daily lunch & snacks covered (plus dinner if you're in the office late) - you'll never go hungry and you help pick the snacks * Unlimited token / tooling access - no handicaps on your productivity * Learning and development investment - we invest heavily in our team and support your growth Extend is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, citizenship status, marital status, pregnancy, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
We’re Scan.com, the digital health scale-up making diagnostics accessible, fast, and transparent. Our technology speeds up diagnoses for timely treatments, improving healthcare outcomes for hundreds of patients each day. We're doing diagnostics differently, with solutions tailored to both patients and providers, all backed by our technology and world-class customer operations team. Our B2C marketplace simplifies booking a scan, making it as straightforward for patients as booking a hotel. Our B2B platforms provide live scheduling at the point of care and harness AI to ease workflows for physicians, attorneys, and providers. We're looking for a Software Engineer, Fulfillment at an exciting time. We've successfully launched multiple platforms and products, raised over $100M in VC funding, reached profitability, and have a growth trajectory of over 100% YoY. WHAT YOU WILL BE GETTING INVOLVED IN: Scan.com's Fulfillment product is the company's core engine. We use an internal portal that manages the entire patient lifecycle, from referral receipt to radiology reports sent. With it, we are able to schedule patients, assess patient preauthorization, handle medical forms, send notifications, route images and reports, generate invoices & claims — all connected to hundreds of imaging centers and health systems operating disparate, often decades-old systems. As a Software Engineer, Fulfillment, you will architect and build the systems that make these workflows robust, automated, and efficient. This problem area requires genuine passion for scaling operational workflows, working collaboratively with internal operations teams, and the discipline to understand the ins and outs of high-throughput workflows. The reality is that we help hundreds of patients get imaging done every day, and our team is passionate about making sure folks get their care with little to no friction. As a scale-up business, you can expect your role to develop over time. Here are some of the types of things you could be getting involved in: * Design and implement patient intake workflows. This includes finishing medical forms, scheduling appointments, and receiving relevant reminders. * Architect a monitoring system of patients in their journey at scale for operations leadership. * Develop delightful, efficient dashboards for scheduling, legal operations, and patient services team members. * Own the automation layer for the operations team: automatic referral ingestion, automatic task assignment, AI voice reminder calls, and dashboards that surface issues to operational leads before they affect patient service expectations. THE TOP 5 THINGS WE WANT YOU TO ACHIEVE IN YOUR FIRST YEAR: 1. Deep domain ownership. Within 60 days, you have a complete mental model of our patient journey — every status, every trigger for status change, every role and their tasks, etc. 2. Resilience uplift. You have identified and remediated the most critical workflows for our internal products. There is a measurable reduction in workflow-related operational escalations. 3. Simplicity by design. You have designed or materially evolved our workflows such that a new operations team member can start working with little to no training. 4. Turnaround time reduction. Your work has significantly improved our end-to-end turnaround times for scheduling patients and returning reports to referring providers. 5. AI-enabled scale. You have shipped improvements that drastically reduce the time each operational team member spends serving patients. WHAT YOU MIGHT BRING TO THE TABLE: You don't need to tick all the boxes to apply for this role. Whether it's your first role or your fifth, we believe everyone can add value, learn, and grow. However, these might be some of the ways you are currently adding value: * Proven ability to integrate with legacy systems that were not designed for modern interoperability. For example, aging RIS platforms in radiology, core banking systems in fintech, or equivalent legacy infrastructure in another vertical. The underlying pattern of bridging old and new matters more than the specific domain. * Experience with shipping complex internal operations dashboards and creating delightful experiences. * Proficiency in backend development within modern web stacks—particularly Ruby (e.g., Rails) with an emphasis on building reliable, scalable services and maintaining architectural rigor over specific language choice. * Familiarity with RESTful API integration patterns, including schema versioning, backward compatibility, and API contract management * Strong operational instincts: you instrument what you build, you think about failure modes before they happen, and you treat on-call escalations as a signal about systemic gaps * Experience in healthcare is a plus, but not required. We care far more about your engineering depth and legacy system fluency than your industry background HOW WE WILL INTERVIEW YOU: We keep our interview process short and sweet, and we're a nimble team that can progress at pace. Here are the stages you can expect, but we might switch up the order depending on team availability: * Introductory video call with our Senior Talent Partner, approximately 30 minutes. * Video call with a software engineer on the team, approximately 60 minutes. This will be a live assessment of your technical skill. * Assessment stage, which may be a take-home exercise, in-person session, or a combination of the two. This will be cross functional in nature, and will assess your systems design skills along with your ability to evolve a feature with your future teammates. We will be mindful of your time. * Final round with our Chief Technology Officer and Chief Product Officer. This round will assess alignment with our company values. * Offer! BENEFITS: We go beyond the basics with our benefits package. Here's what you can expect from us: * Salary range of $170,000 - $220,000 * 401k * Healthcare, Vision, and Dental * All equipment needed to do your role effectively * Flexible and remote/hybrid working options * Personal development budgets * 18 days PTO plus public holidays * 10 paid sick days * Inclusive policies designed by our team, for our team Diversity at SCAN.COM Scan.com is committed to eliminating discrimination and encouraging diversity within our team. We strive to provide equality and fairness for all job applicants and employees, and never discriminate on the basis of gender, marital status, age, race, ethnicity, religion, or physical differences. We are opposed to all forms of unlawful treatment and discrimination. Our ambition is for our team and its Board to be representative of the diversity in society, and for every employee to feel respected and able to bring their best selves to work.
