Salary Band
On‑Target Earnings (OTE): $100,000 – $130,000

We are looking for a founding BDR Manager to build and lead our Business Development Representative (BDR) function from scratch.
This team is responsible for generating qualified meetings for our Field Sales Representatives — not closing deals. You will hire
and develop a high-performing team, and drive consistent meeting volume to fuel our US sales growth.

Salary Band On‑Target Earnings (OTE): $55,000 – $65,000 Compensation Structure: Base salary plus uncapped commission WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will play a critical role in generating new business opportunities by booking qualified meetings for our Field Sales Representatives. This is a pure outbound, booking-focused role. As a BDR, your responsibility is to: * engage SMB merchants * generate interest in Flatpay * book qualified meetings for our Field Sales team You will not be responsible for closing deals. Your success is measured by activity, meetings booked, and show rates. This is a high-energy role suited for individuals who enjoy fast-paced environments, targets, and direct impact on growth. Key Responsibilities * Conduct outbound cold calls to merchants to spark interest in Flatpay * Qualify leads and book on-site meetings for Sales Managers * Maintain clean, accurate data in the CRM; log activities and outcomes meticulously * Iterate on outreach scripts and tactics based on results and coaching * Provide feedback on merchant responses, competitor insights and pitch success WHO YOU ARE * High energy, persistence and positive attitude toward cold outreach * Strong verbal and written persuasion skills and quick rapport building * Metrics-driven mindset and comfort working toward daily/weekly targets * Receptive to feedback and eager to learn sales best practices * Ability to multitask, manage time effectively and stay organised in a fast-paced environment Background * No previous telesales experience required * 1-2 years of customer facing roles preferred (e.g. customer support, retail, restaurants, telesales) * Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus

We are looking for a Head of Business Development to lead and scale our Business Development function in South Africa. In this role, you will drive the performance of our outbound organization, coach and develop team leads and individual contributors, and ensure operational excellence across the team. Working closely with the Global Head of Business Development, you will translate global strategy into local execution while building a high-performing, data-driven sales culture in our Cape Town office. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Own the performance of the Business Development function in South Africa, including activity, pipeline quality, pipeline-to-revenue conversion, and results, reporting into the Global Head of Business Development * Coach and manage the BDR Team Lead, supporting their development and holding them accountable for team performance, while also coaching BDRs directly using data and call insights * Set and enforce standards for outbound quality, CRM hygiene, and handovers to Sales, aligned with global standards * Run effective 1:1s, performance reviews, and feedback conversations with both the Team Lead and individual BDRs, and identify and address performance or behavioral risks early * Lead by example with strong outbound knowledge and credibility, stepping into deals or coaching moments as needed * Partner closely with the Global Head of Business Development to localize processes, share market feedback, and feed local insights into global strategy * Drive hiring, onboarding, and team-building as the South Africa business development org grows * Act as the day-to-day point of contact for the South Africa office, coordinating operational support between the local team and Head Office WHAT YOU'LL BRING * Bachelor's degree or higher * Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development/sales within a tech environment, including at least 3 years in a business development people management role (non-negotiable minimum). * Strong commercial mindset with a demonstrated track record of driving revenue through outbound motion * Proven ability to coach both individual contributors and team leads, using metrics, call insights, and performance data to drive improvement * Hands-on outbound sales experience and credibility - comfortable rolling up sleeves and coaching from the front, not just managing from a distance * Strong organizational skills, able to juggle people, priorities, data, and operational coordination with clarity and control * Clear, direct, and confident communication skills, including with senior stakeholders and global leadership * Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy day-to-day, while aligning closely with a global function and reporting structure * Experience specifically managing or developing a Team Lead/manager (rather than only individual contributors) is a strong plus * Native-level English, written and spoken; based in Cape Town, South Africa READY TO JOIN US? YOUR MISSION Most demand gen roles ask you to build the machine from scratch. This one does not. Datamaran has been in ESG since 2014, before it was a category, and some of the world's largest companies, Bridgestone, Dell, Cisco, Kraft Heinz, PepsiCo and NTT Data, use our platform to make ESG work for their strategy. Our go-to-market motion is already in place. Channels are activated, account-based programs are running, the BDR rhythm is set, and real pipeline is coming through every month. What we need is one person who picks all of that up and runs with it, end to end, so we can deepen what works and add what is missing. In this role, you will: * Own pipeline generation across paid search, paid social and third-party advertising, with a clear monthly target and a clear segment focus * Run multiple campaigns in parallel from concept to brief to launch to reporting, on a six to twelve week horizon * Build out account-based motions for priority verticals, working closely with sales on named-account coverage * Partner daily with our BDR team on meetings booked, follow-up, and what is converting * Write the on-brand copy that ties the work together, from ad creative to landing page to nurture sequence YOUR PROFILE You will thrive here if you: * Have at least five years in B2B SaaS demand generation, ideally targeting mid-market or enterprise accounts with ACVs around €50K and sales cycles of six to twelve months * Have run full-funnel programs end to end, from concept and brief through launch, reporting and iteration, not handed off from another team * Use HubSpot, Salesforce and modern outbound tooling like Clay in your day-to-day work, not just at the briefing level * Write your own copy and trust your instinct on what lands with senior buyers in legal, compliance, risk or sustainability * Have run account-based programs alongside sales and BDRs, and bring a clear point of view on what works and what does not * Bring real interest in ESG, sustainability, regulatory or compliance topics, even if you are not yet an expert * Get energy from acting fast on your own judgement and from running a program as if you were spending your own budget WHY US? Base €53,000 to €66,000, plus 5% pension contribution via Bright, €100/month health insurance contribution, €75/month fitness allowance, 25 days PTO with our yearly closure between Christmas and New Year, and fully reimbursed commuting. * The flexibility.
