WILDCARD UNTAP is recruiting an experienced and committed Head Chef on behalf of a restaurant in the canton of Valais. The restaurant offers a modern dining experience with a warm atmosphere, seasonal ingredients and high standards of quality and service.

About the position
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the restaurant’s culinary quality, the daily organisation of the kitchen and the leadership of the kitchen team. You will work closely with the restaurant’s management and play a central role in ensuring high quality, strong profitability and a positive guest experience.
Key responsibilities
Manage the preparation and execution of lunch and dinner service
Ensure consistent quality and professional presentation of all dishes
Develop seasonal menus together with the management team
Follow recipes, technical specifications and the restaurant’s quality standards
Lead, train and motivate the kitchen team
Plan daily operations, assign tasks and prepare staff schedules
Manage purchasing, stock levels and inventory
Monitor food costs, waste, margins and budgets
Ensure proper stock rotation and expiry-date control
Maintain excellent standards of organisation, hygiene and safety in the kitchen
Implement and ensure compliance with HACCP procedures
Create a respectful, constructive and efficient working environment
Contribute ideas to improve the restaurant’s quality and profitability
We are looking for someone who
Has proven experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role
Has solid experience leading and organising a kitchen team
Is confident in both hands-on kitchen operations and administrative planning
Has experience in menu planning, purchasing, inventory management and cost control
Has strong knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP
Works in a structured manner and remains calm under pressure
Is quality-conscious, solution-oriented and attentive to detail
Demonstrates clear leadership and strong collaboration skills
Has a genuine passion for food, service and gastronomy
Can communicate effectively in English; knowledge of French is an advantage
