About the position​ We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in Microwave Micro-Electro Mechanical Systems available at the Nanoelectronics group, Department of Informatics. Starting date no later than as soon as possible. The appointment is a fulltime position and is for a period of three years (10% of which is devoted to career promoting work, usually in the form of teaching activities). The funding includes a grant for 9–12 month research stay at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). No one can be appointed for more than one Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Oslo. Place of work is Department of Informatics at Blindern, Oslo. Project description​ The position is part of the TerrificMEMS project which is a collaborative effort between the University of Oslo (UiO), SINTEF MiNaLab, and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). The primary goal of the project is to develop smart MEMS-based reflectors for dynamic steering of microwave signals. You will develop skills through design, fabrication, and characterization of MEMS-based smart reflector structures for precise microwave beam steering. With access to SINTEF MiNaLab piezoelectric MEMS process, as well as state-of-the-art microwave laboratory facilities at UiO and QMUL, this position provide a unique opportunities for both device development and advanced RF testing. The main purpose of a postdoctoral fellowship is to provide the candidates with enhanced skills to pursue a scientific top position within or beyond academia. To promote a strategic career path, all postdoctoral research fellows are required to submit a professional development plan no later than one month after commencement of the postdoctoral period. Only applicants with an approved doctoral thesis and public defence are eligible for appointment • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English • Relevant experience in MEMS or Microwave/RF design Desired qualifications:​ • Experience with design of MEMS and/or Experience with Microwave design • Knowledge of relevant CAD modelling and simulation tools (ie COMSOL,CST,ADS, 3d… ) All candidates and projects will have to undergo a check versus national export, sanctions and security regulations. About the position​ We invite applications for position as Postdoctoral Research Fellow in statistics and data science available at Department of Mathematics. The position is associated with the newly established Norwegian Maritime AI Centre (MAI), a national initiative for research, innovation, and education in artificial intelligence for the maritime sector. Here you will work together with students, PhD candidates and researchers, as well as world leading industry partners. The candidate will be affiliated with the Statistics and Data Science Section. The section is active in many areas of applied and theoretical statistics and data science, and is heavily involved in research at the crossing of statistics and machine learning. The focus of this postdoctoral fellowship is to conduct cutting-edge research on AI-based forecasting and analytics for shipbroking and maritime decision support. The aim is to develop and analyze advanced models that integrate heterogeneous maritime data sources - such as AIS, metocean, emissions, port, cargo, and business data - to improve predictions of costs, freight rates, delays, emissions, and port logistics. While strongly rooted in real-world industrial use cases, the position has a clear academic orientation to develop advanced models for data rich environments.  The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the methodological foundations of maritime AI, publish in leading international journals and conferences, and collaborate closely with MAI’s academic and industrial partners to advance safe, transparent, and trustworthy AI in the maritime sector.  The main purpose of a postdoctoral fellowship is to provide the candidates with enhanced skills to pursue a scientific top position within or beyond academia. Project description​ The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research group led by Professors Finn-Eirik Johansen (Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) and Shuo-Wang Qiao (Institute of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine). The group’s main research focus is the unique immune system of the Atlantic cod, which is characterized by the evolutionary loss of MHC class II molecules and CD4 T cells — components that are essential for immunocompetence in other vertebrates, including humans. We combine classical molecular biology and experimental immunology with cutting-edge technologies, including modern high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics. The project investigates the transcriptional profiles of Atlantic cod immune cells at the single-cell level and maps the immune receptor repertoires of cod B and T cells during homeostasis and in response to microbes, microbial products and vaccines.
