You will work on the full spectrum of creative projects – visual identity, packaging, campaigns, activations, brand guardianship and more. You will work closely with Senior Designers and Design Directors to ensure that the creative brief is challenged, and that solutions are insightful, confident and inspirational – delivered in a unique way. About you You will already have worked in a similar role for around 3–6 years, with a range of brand design experience for clients in the region, and your portfolio will be full of inspiring examples of your work across multiple touchpoints - visual identities to branded environments and everything in between. You’ll have a keen eye for detail and impeccable crafting skills, but equally important to us is a Junior Designer who can confidently express their ideas through words. Brands that last. The Role Bold's Stockholm studio is currently looking for a new Design Director to join the team. This is a senior creative leadership position. You'll take ownership of projects from first brief to final delivery. Setting direction, maintaining standards, guiding teams, and earning the trust of clients over the course of an engagement. You'll be the person in the room who can articulate why something works and what it still needs. But you'll also still be making things. The best design directors we know haven't stopped designing. They've just gotten better at knowing when to get out of the way and when to step in. Expect to be working across brand strategy, brand identity, design systems, and brand activations. For clients that range from established names looking to transform, to ambitious new ones looking to announce themselves. Experience from gaming, entertainment, or other experience-driven industries is a bonus. Qualities Creative leadership. You've led projects and people ideally for 10 or more years, and you know the difference between managing and inspiring. You give feedback that moves work forward. You create conditions where designers can do their best work. A strong point of view. You have opinions about what makes a brand great. You can articulate them clearly, defend them confidently, and update them when you're wrong. Strategic depth. You understand why brand matters, commercially and culturally, and you can connect that understanding to every decision in the work. You're as comfortable thinking about a brand's positioning as you are about its typeface. Craft and rigour. You have high standards and you set them for the team around you. Details matter to you. Systems matter to you. Work that lasts matters to you. Client presence. You can lead a room. You build trust through clarity and conviction, not by telling clients what they want to hear, but by helping them understand what their brand actually needs. Creative Ambition We're not after someone who wants to manage from a distance. We're looking for someone who's still excited by the work, who gets restless when something isn't quite right, and won't sign off until it is. You're considered but decisive. Collaborative but not consensus-dependent. You’re someone who has built things you're proud of, and is now looking for a place to build more. Location Based in Stockholm or willing to relocate. We'll always consider exceptional candidates based elsewhere — but this is a role that benefits from being in the room.
