Are you a seasoned project controls guru that is a bit tired of the standard old-fashioned way of doing things in the construction industry? Do you get deep satisfaction from making things run more efficiently using a good dose of common sense and maybe a bit of technology? Have you always cared about the importance of proper planning and the connection between the schedule and the real day-to-day delivery of the job? Have you ever wanted to work a bit more flexibly but still be hands-on in construction and improving the industry? Sounds like a dream. Well, it isn’t, it is quite real! Read on! ________________________________________________________________________ We are Laminar Projects! If you’ve already heard about us, you’re probably reading this because you’re tired of the typical, chaotic ways of doing things in construction. But in case you haven’t, we’re a high-end project management consultancy and tech developer with a focus on upgrading the way construction projects are delivered. Improving construction strengthens the very foundation of human civilisation. (Check out our short film about it.) We bring transparency and control to projects through a pragmatic mix of the latest tech, our own processes, and a big dose of common sense. We then take our deep understanding of these projects and we invest heavily into developing the digital solutions that anyone can use to deliver their projects better. (Check out Shape, our construction management tech, to see what we’re doing.) The core of all this is our true secret sauce: our people. We only recruit the very best, both in capability and personality. We’re deeply focused on designing a new type of organisation that’s optimised for the flourishing of the people in the team first and foremost. People who join us develop fast as a whole person in ways they never imagined. (Read more about our vision and missions.) This approach has allowed us to grow from just two people in 2017 to over 220 today. We have a stable, repeat client base across infrastructure and complex building projects in the UK and internationally, and we’re still growing fast. Joining us isn’t just some “job”. It’s a transformative educational experience. We challenge you to be your best self in all aspects of life. There are many diverse and interesting challenges available. It’s up to you to guide yourself into whichever areas you’re most interested – we’ll enable it. (Get to know us better by watching a few more of our videos.) Core values for a good life A life of human flourishing is all about meaningful relationships and challenging yourself to create a positive impact, so our values reflect the four levels of relationships that each of us has: - Grow yourself – your relationship with yourself - Care about people – your relationship with others around you - Execute to greatness – your relationship with your team - Build civilisation – your relationship with humanity and the world We enshrined our values in our vision: We exist so that everyone in our team can flourish in a high-impact community that: - Connects us with meaningful relationships - Inspires us to develop ourselves to become better humans - Empowers us to pursue our own learning adventures By first doing this, we can achieve the highest levels of value for the world. And enable the achievement of our vision through our two missions: - To fully digitalise the construction of human civilisation - To create a new type of organisation that enables human flourishing while delivering a huge positive impact on society _____________________________________________________________________ The Role Purpose of the role You will be enhancing the delivery of the most complex and interesting projects in the world through the power of project controls. You will be a senior leader in our team pushing the discipline to new heights not only within Laminar but within the industry in general. Your team This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy which focuses on: - Understanding what the real problems of projects are. - Implementing the best solutions to those problems. - Developing scalable best practices, tools and technology. More specifically you will be part of our Project Controls Discipline Team who are industry leaders in the planning and controls of complex construction projects. Your initial leader will be one of our project controls discipline directors. Your top three objectives: 1. To make construction projects deliver to near perfection 2. To develop yourself and everyone around you 3. To create scalable and repeatable solutions to common problems Your top five responsibilities: 1. Own the controls: Own the controls for cost, schedule, change and risk on one or more projects to enable accurate decisions for project teams 2. Develop everyone: Maximise the development of your team personally and professionally and educate our clients to improve as well 3. Make scalable solutions: Develop scalable and repeatable best practices and tools in collaboration with the team so that long-term impact is achieved 4. Report and inform: Provide simple actionable reports to stakeholders at all levels that help them deliver their part of the project more efficiently and effectively 5. Own the outcome: You may not be the project manager ultimately responsible for the results but you are sure as heck responsible for putting in your best effort to ensure the project’s understanding and focus on the plan no matter how stubborn they are! You must have: - A construction engineering background: You have solid capability in the control of cost, schedule, and change, along with deep experience in developing project controls processes and reporting that align with strategic objectives and broader project context. - Communication skills: You have the charisma, presence, and influence to engage construction teams, drive adoption of new approaches, and promote best practices across the board. - Leadership capabilities: You’re a proven leader, coach, and developer of teams, capable of guiding others and building high-performing planning and controls functions. - Impact: You have a strong track record of implementing scalable, repeatable solutions that created significant positive impact across complex projects. Laminar isn’t the place for you if any of the following is true: - You want an easy, chilled-out role without much challenge - You like to be the smartest person in the room - You don’t like continuously receiving honest candid feedback - You prefer to do your own thing rather than work with a team _____________________________________________________________________ Frequently Asked Questions What kinds of projects would I be working on? It’s common for people to be exposed to several projects in their first year with us. You’ll work on some of the most complex and interesting environments in the world. We’ve delivered over 100 data centres internationally, many of them fast-tracked and multi-package. Our teams have supported flagship infrastructure programmes like HS2 through integrated planning and digital delivery, contributed to over $30bn in power generation and transmission projects, and played a key role in the development of high-containment labs and R&D campuses for some of the world’s most advanced industrial and life sciences clients. You might find yourself working in sectors such as data centres, infrastructure (including defense, rail, and highways), high tech (such as advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors), or complex building projects. These aren’t hands-off assignments. They’re dynamic, hands-on environments designed for people who want to be challenged. We bring back the lessons from every project to help our team grow and deliver the highest levels of value. (Check out our case stories.) Who are our clients? Major owners/operators and main contractors with project values between £1m and £1bn+ globally. Where would I be working? One week you might be working from home. The next, you might travel to the site to meet the construction teams and help organise them. Maybe you’ll pop into our London office for a workshop or a beer. Maybe you’ll fly out to exotic (and sometimes not!) locations in Europe or the Middle East to visit clients. It really depends on what you want to get involved in and what fits with your life. How does what I do connect with the long-term impact on the construction industry? You’re tasked with understanding and solving common problems. We don’t want to reinvent the wheel every time, so you’ll be responsible for documenting new solutions and evolving ones we’ve developed. This goes into our knowledge repository, which we’re going to open source to the industry. The knowledge you capture will be used by us to build new products. You’ll constantly test those products in the field, so we can rapidly iterate and improve them for anyone in the industry to use. ____________________________________________________________ Benefits The standard stuff: - Health Insurance Scheme. That’s where your impact begins. Join us! Product Manager – Author Operations & Support (all genders) | Job Level: Intermediate | Spain (Working from Home) | Full Time (40h/week) | Fix Salary Range: 42.300€ - 51.700€ Please note: This role will be open for applications until 100 applications have been received. We’ll then close the position for new applicants so we can thoroughly review all applications received. YOUR IMPACT As Product Manager – Author Operations & Support (all genders), you translate our Author Enablement vision into concrete product decisions and make sure internal teams get the tools they actually need. Here's what that looks like day to day: * Product Strategy & Roadmap Ownership: You translate the Author Enablement vision into a clear roadmap, aligned with eduki's annual goals. You own the product backlog and make informed calls on scope and prioritisation, communicating decisions and trade-offs clearly to internal stakeholders. * Discovery & Stakeholder Insight: You run structured discovery — defining hypotheses, designing research, and synthesising insights — and connect findings directly to roadmap decisions. Through regular engagement with Key Account Managers, the Teaching Material Team, Finance, and Author Happiness, you proactively spot needs and opportunities before they become problems. * Cross-Functional Collaboration: You partner closely with Engineering, Data, and Design to ship features that are well-scoped, high-quality, and — above all — actually adopted by internal teams. You know when and how to challenge stakeholder requests, educate on prioritisation, and explain why certain things can't be done right now. * Adoption & Impact: You track usage of internal tools and treat low adoption as a product signal to act on, not a footnote — continuously feeding what you learn back into the roadmap. YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERTISE We're looking for a Product Manager – Author Operations & Support (all genders) who is genuinely excited to build internal products that make eduki's Author ecosystem truly scalable. This is the perfect role for you if: * You have proven experience owning a product area end-to-end — from discovery to delivery — and know how to translate goals into a clear roadmap with measurable milestones. * You're strong at stakeholder management: you challenge, prioritise, and communicate decisions and trade-offs clearly to internal teams, even when that means pushing back. * You work in a data-driven, KPI-driven manner: you use data to inform decisions, not just to report on them after the fact. * You run structured discovery — defining hypotheses, designing research, and synthesising insights — rather than just collecting requirements. * You use AI naturally in your daily work as a PM. * You're comfortable with the full PM toolkit — from writing PRDs and user stories to running A/B tests and facilitating workshops with cross-functional teams — and understand enough about APIs, system architecture, and UX/UI to be a strong partner to Engineering and Design. * You feel comfortable communicating in English and working in an international team. Please note: Due to legal restrictions, we can only hire candidates living in and owning a valid work permit for Spain. eduki is a registered employer in Spain, and you will receive a direct work contract with us according to Spanish work law. OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU Attractive Compensation Package: The total compensation for this role is up to 61.200 EUR per year and consists of a fixed salary and a VSOP (Virtual Stock Options Program) package. Depending on your skills and competencies, as well as your individual performance, the gross annual salary will range between 42.300 EUR and 51.700 EUR. Growth Opportunities: At eduki, you will find an exciting job opportunity within a profitable and fast-growing company. We prioritize action over perfection and view mistakes as opportunities for growth. Regular performance feedback sessions ensure that you receive constructive insights into your work and progress. Additionally, you will receive a 1.000 EUR development budget per year to invest in your professional development goals. Working from Home: We fully embrace a home office culture and want you to enjoy full flexibility by enabling you to set your own work schedule. In addition to providing the necessary software and hardware, we offer a 500 EUR budget that you can freely use to equip your home office. Furthermore, you can work from abroad for up to 90 days per year with us! Employee Health: Your well-being matters to us. To help you take care of both body and mind, we offer online yoga sessions and actively support mental health by allowing time for therapy or coaching sessions during your working hours. Take advantage of your flexible schedule to prioritise what you need, including your health! Team Building Events: At eduki, we foster a strong sense of community. Whether virtual or on-site, you'll have opportunities to bond with your colleagues. Once a year, the entire team enjoys a company-wide team event, visiting new places and creating lasting memories together.
