You will become part of the Bay Level Solutions team within Hitachi Energy’s Grid Automation business. Our global customers operate in many segments, and we provide a comprehensive portfolio of world-class protection and control solutions. As Global Product Manager, you will be responsible for one of our key solution level offerings, driving its development according to market needs and managing its complete lifecycle. The position is based in Västerås, Sweden, and requires regular presence on site to collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, and cross functional teams.

The opportunity We are looking for an engaging and driven person to lead the power quality R&D team with focus on Control of Power Quality solutions. The team consists of highly skilled technical experts. You will be part of Grid & Power Quality Solutions and report to the Global R&D Manager for Power Quality. This is a visible role in a truly global and cross-functional environment, at the cutting edge of technology. How you’ll make an impact You will be responsible for line management and the development of the team and team members. Further, as manager and resource owner, you will lead and distribute work tasks, support the team and the project managers to drive the projects, implement existing and further develop efficient work processes to increase productivity as well as preparing annual budget and follow up execution. You will ensure prompt and regular reporting on the project’s status and take proactive action in case of any deviation from the agreed baseline. In the role you will collaborate directly with other R&D teams, receiving units and engineering teams around the world. In R&D, you will encourage and support the team to challenge existing technology, propose projects and processes contributing to the global plans and processes. The team involvement ranges from technology scouting and assessment, technology development including working with intellectual properties to product development and product maintenance and improvements. Your background You have relevant engineering background combined with a few years of experience of product development and team management. Higher formal education in relevant fields will be meriting. Experience in control of power electronics and preferably FACTS / HVDC / Substations. It is highly advantageous if you have worked with the MACH-platform previously. You have a deep sense of ownership to deliver the assigned targets and are skilled at managing different types of people and able to coach as well as motivate and inspire others. You are very familiar with Project Management and Product Development practices. You work in a structured way, applying relevant methods, procedures, and tools. Proven experience working with multi-cultural, geographically distributed teams. Excellent spoken and written communication in English. Strong leadership (direct and indirect reports) and proven change management experience. The opportunity The role provides direct support to Sales and Tendering team by contributing to accurate, competitive sizing of operational efforts for tenders, as well as developing execution strategies and delivery schedules in alignment with Network Control global practices and delivery models. With extensive hands-on experience in executing SCADA/EMS/ADMS international projects within complex environments, the Tender Support Specialist serves as an integral part of the bid team. This role contributes to the development of competitive and feasible proposals, directly impacting the profitability of the organization. This position reports directly to the Tender Support leader inside the Project Office group and collaborates closely with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain and Tendering teams. How you’ll make an impact Recommend solid execution strategies and define the right mix of in‑house, outsourced, local, and remote delivery models. Anticipate challenges in multi‑country and emerging‑market execution while ensuring coherent, cost‑effective, low‑risk delivery approaches. Estimate project management and engineering efforts using structured methods and early risk identification in the tender phase.
