Role: Fulfilment General Operator Career Step Level: Step level 1 Location: Blyth, Worksop This is an on-site shift-based role, based in Blyth, Worksop. Hours: We are pleased to say, this is a full-time permanent contract, you will be working a rolling average of 41 hours per week working on a shift rotation of days and some weekend working. SUMMARY THE HVAC & MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST IS PRIMARILY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MAINTENANCE, TROUBLESHOOTING, REPAIR, AND PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OF COMMERCIAL HVAC AND BUILDING MECHANICAL SYSTEMS. THIS ROLE ALSO SUPPORTS FACILITY INFRASTRUCTURE, PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT, AND BUILDING MAINTENANCE TO ENSURE SAFE, EFFICIENT, AND RELIABLE OPERATIONS. HVAC EXPERTISE IS CONSIDERED A CORE FUNCTION OF THIS POSITION. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Diagnose, repair, or replace mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components on machinery and production fixtures. * Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, including air handlers, rooftop units, exhaust systems, split systems, thermostats, dampers, and associated controls. * Assist in the design, improvement, or modification of fixtures, machines, and tools in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering. * Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, including filter changes, belt replacement, lubrication, coil cleaning, refrigerant system inspections, and seasonal startup/shutdown procedures. * Start up and shut down equipment according to OSHA and company safety procedures. * Inspect, test, and document emergency systems (e.g., alarms, extinguishers, sprinklers). * Coordinate with contractors and vendors for building maintenance, system upgrades, and safety checks. * Operate a variety of tools (e.g., soldering irons, torque wrenches, crimpers) for installation and repair. * Monitor shop inventory and ensure timely restocking of consumables. * Respond to after-hours maintenance needs and emergencies as required. * Uphold Positronic’s standards of integrity, quality, and operational excellence. * Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or the safety coordinator. * Collaborate with the EHS department to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA, and Amphenol sustainability practices. * Work with the Quality department to ensure compliance with AS9100 certification standards. * Comply with all company policies and procedures. * Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * High school diploma or equivalent. * 1 to 3 months of relevant experience or training. * Minimum of 3 years of commercial or industrial HVAC maintenance experience strongly preferred. * Experience maintaining rooftop units, split systems, air handlers, ventilation systems, and building mechanical equipment. * EPA 608 License. Physical * Lift up to 50 pounds frequently. * Sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach overhead regularly. * Navigate facility areas including ladders or tight spaces as needed. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and fumes. Some irregular hours may be required. COMPETENCIES KNOWLEDGE * Commercial HVAC systems and controls. * Safety standards and building codes (OSHA, NFPA, etc.). * Basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles. * Blueprint, schematic, and technical drawing interpretation. SKILLS * Commercial HVAC preventive maintenance. * Building mechanical systems troubleshooting. * Electrical troubleshooting related to HVAC equipment * Communication across teams and departments. * Preventive maintenance planning and execution. ABILITIES * Diagnose complex equipment issues independently. * Diagnose HVAC system failures and determine corrective actions independently. * Read HVAC wiring diagrams and mechanical schematics. * Safely use specialized tools and test equipment. * Lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces. * Adapt to changing priorities and emergency situations.
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing at least two types of machine equipment. This position will minimize machine downtime and unplanned breakdowns by performing preventive maintenance work, completing repairs in a timely manner, and implementing maintenance process improvements. This position will conduct safety inspections on equipment and comply with all safety rules and regulations while performing work. * Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment, processes, and systems on at least two types of machine equipment, which may include mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical. * Perform painting, sheet metal work, welding as needed. * Diagnose machine malfunctions, disassemble and determine extent of repairs necessary, estimate labor time, purchase or make repair parts, and conduct, test, and release repairs. * Perform preventive maintenance operations including inspecting drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, worn parts, and clean and lubricate machinery. * Monitor safety standards and complete scheduled inspections for all machines. * Maintain and repair the facility, which may include utility, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and masonry. * Assist with installation of capital equipment and electrical wiring systems in a safe, timely, and competent manner. * Maintain the electronic asset management and maintenance record keeping systems. * Assist with completing repair project plans and project status reports, as required. * Keep work area in clean and orderly condition, complying with established 6S standards. * Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications * High School Diploma/GED and three ﴾3﴿ years experience in manufacturing equipment repair are required. * Full working knowledge in troubleshooting and repair of two types of machines, which may include mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical, is required. * Experience with EMaint maintenance work order system is preferred. * Must have basic math and computer skills. * Aility to weld, fabricate, repair, and install equipment. * Ability to learn, problem solve, and make decisions per work instructions and documents. * Ability to communicate and work as a team member. * Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand basic English. Physical Demand Requirements Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and lift; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
