Meet the team The Sales Planning team within the EMEA Wholesale department plays a key role in driving the business from long-range financial forecasting to monthly sales planning. The team manages in-season performance to ensure targets are met and supports pre-season assortment planning to optimize product and Accounts strategies. Working cross-functionally with Sales, Controlling, Demand Planning, and Operations, the team ensures alignment between commercial goals and operational execution. It is an innovative and constantly evolving function, continuously improving processes and tools to enhance business performance and agility. Your mission * Perform weekly business analyses and generate actionable insights to support the Sales and Management teams in decision-making. * Contribute to sales planning activities, including financial forecasting, in-season tracking, and pre-season assortment planning. * Enhance and develop analytical tools and files (e.g., sell-out dashboards, forecast roll-ups, invoice trackers, G2N by region/sub-region) to enable more data-driven sales decisions. * Support and drive sales-related projects aimed at improving processes, tools, and overall department efficiency. * Support on developing AI capabilities within the commercial function. FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE The Cloud Engineering Team builds cloud-based solutions, supports the cloud platform and helps to drive its adoption and expansion while also collaborating with other teams. Furthermore, the Cloud Engineering Team looks after the on-prem IT infrastructure.   The primary function of this position will be to take responsibility for the successful development, management and maintenance of software services to ensure that the production services perform effectively, while maintaining a high level of internal customer satisfaction. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimising key functional areas, particularly internal applications and servers in a hybrid infrastructure. This role requires a robust software engineering background, a diagnostic problem-solving mindset, and a relentless passion for automation. Given our hybrid footprint, this position offers the unique challenge of managing both cloud-native services and physical on-site infrastructure.     Functions of the Role  * Design, provision, and manage large-scale, highly available cloud infrastructure platforms, optimizing for     heavy compute workloads and high-concurrency applications. * Implement and maintain modular IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation) to automate the provisioning of secure, low-latency, and multi-region cloud environments. * Architect and maintain high-performance, high-IOPS cloud storage solutions, ensuring seamless data synchronisation, backup strategies, and optimal throughput. * Automate the deployment, configuration, and auto-scaling of workload orchestrators, container platforms, and core service components to ensure high resource utilisation and cost efficiency. * Enforce strict security protocols across all environments by implementing Zero Trust architectures, secure IAM roles, and automated configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Packer) for hardened OS images. * Provide expert-level support for complex infrastructure and platform issues, documenting automated workflows and mentoring junior team members on cloud-native best practices. EXPERIENCE - ESSENTIALS * Proven track record of architecting, deploying, and maintaining production-grade, highly scalable workloads on AWS. * Deep expertise in Terraform (preferred) and CloudFormation for building modular, version-controlled infrastructure environments. * Solid knowledge of high-performance and distributed cloud storage solutions (e.g., Amazon FSx, EFS, EBS, NetApp ONTAP). * Expert-level proficiency with Enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL/Rocky/Ubuntu) and systems-level troubleshooting. * Professional proficiency in Python or Bash for building automation tooling, custom monitoring scripts, and complex system integrations. * Deep understanding of enterprise IAM patterns, including Active Directory/LDAP integration for consistent access control across hybrid environments. * Ability to translate complex infrastructural scaling decisions into actionable guidance for development teams and cost-benefit updates for leadership. EXPERIENCE - DESIRABLE * Proven track record of architecting and deploying production HPC workloads on AWS using AWS ParallelCluster, SOCA or custom Slurm fleets. * Ability to architect for maximum cost efficiency, implementing automated spot-instance utilization, auto-scaling strategies, and Savings Plans optimization. * Proficiency in monitoring infrastructure health and application performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or CloudWatch, with a focus on identifying bottlenecks. * Experience designing and implementing automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for software and infrastructure deployment. * Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, or AWS Certified Advanced Networking. OUR TEAM We are looking for a pragmatic and skilled Software Engineer to join the Intelligent Automation (IA) team. This team builds the mission critical software layer that allows our hardware experts and IC engineers to acquire data more efficiently, analyse experiments, and control quantum processors. In this role, you will join the software stack development team within IA responsible for the systems that power our quantum computing platform. Our software stack spans backend quantum processing unit (QPU) control software, database and queue management systems, and user-facing APIs for job validation and submission. You will contribute to the next generation of deployments, enabling larger qubit counts, more complex architectures, and increasingly sophisticated quantum operations. Your work will involve prototyping new solutions, iteratively testing and refining them, and preparing components for robust, production-ready systems for deployment. We are looking for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and building complete software systems. You will contribute to architectural decisions, define interfaces between components, and help shape how our software evolves over time. This role is suited to someone who thinks beyond individual features or components and is comfortable considering the wider system: reliability, maintainability, performance, and how different parts of a technical stack work together. Please note that this is a hybrid role, with requirements to be on-site at our Islington lab as needed to manage and deploy infrastructure related to the physical lab environment and QPUs. FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE Your core responsibilities will involve addressing the key initiatives identified for scaling our development infrastructure: * Maintaining the prototype software stack, and developing the next generation for future deployments. * Working with hardware experts to understand requirements, scope out and develop new features. * Benchmarking and scaling components of the stack for the next generation. * Improving the integration testing across the software stack, including building custom dummy devices and digital twins. EXPERIENCE - ESSENTIALS * Top tier education, minimum 2.1 in Computer Science or closely related discipline from a top university. * 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong proficiency in Python. * Experience designing, developing and maintaining complex software systems, with the ability to make informed design and architectural decisions, and balance considerations such as scalability, maintainability, performance, and reliability. * Experience working across multiple layers of a software system, with a focus on understanding how components and interfaces fit together, rather than specialising in a single layer of the application. * Experience profiling, benchmarking, and optimising software, with the ability to identify performance bottlenecks. * Exposure to C, C++, Rust, and/or GPU programming and GPU optimisation. * Experienced in git, version control and software best practices. * Strong collaborative approach with good communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently to achieve goals. EXPERIENCE - DESIRABLE * Experience with building simulators, digital twins, or other software models of complex systems. * Experience developing software interfaces for hardware, particularly laboratory instruments, scientific equipment, or other technical devices. * Experience in preparation of technical reports and presentations for key stakeholders.
