Job Scope Why does the role exist? High level purpose of function. The Manufacturing technician is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient production and maintenance operations. This position covers a broad technical scope, including production support, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, and continuous improvements in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems. About the team The Backend area is a vital part of our production, where in the area we perform all outgoing quality control of our products, conducting electrical measurements and optical inspections. We also work with blade and stealth dicing, wafer thinning, and CMP (chemical mechanical planarization). There is a team of 19 people working in the Backend area, out of which four are working with service (three Service Technicians and one Maintenance Engineer). About the role As a Service Technician at Silex, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our high-tech equipment is operational in production through maintenance, operations, and service tasks, all conducted in cleanroom environments. The equipment you will work with involves electronics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, chemistry, and gases. You will collaborate with skilled colleagues, including area managers, process engineers, and operators. Each day begins with a handover from the previous shift, after which tasks are planned and divided among the Service Technicians. Join Our Team at Kronen Substrates! Kronen Substrates is a modern and growing company specializing in professional substrate production. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a motivated and committed The production process involves several highly automated stages, combining material processing, dosing, mixing, packaging, and palletizing technologies. Raw materials are processed through a range of milling equipment with installed motor capacities from 10 kW up to 150 kW. The milled materials are then screened into different fractions using various types of star screens to achieve the required particle size distribution. An automated mixing line uses laser volume control sensors and weighing systems for the precise dosing of fertilizers, lime, and other additives. The mixing system has a capacity of up to 240 m³/h and is fully controlled by PC-based automation. All drives throughout the process are equipped with frequency inverters, allowing precise control and optimization of production parameters. The finished product is packaged on four packaging lines. 2 FFS (Form-Fill-Seal) machines produce bags ranging from 5 to 70 litres, with capacities of up to 28 bags per minute per line. In addition, two small bale presses produce 200-litre bales. Finished products are handled by two automated palletizers for bagged products and one robotic palletizing system for small bales. The palletized products are then secured using a Lachenmeier stretch hood system, ensuring stable and reliable transport packaging. Silex Microsystems is the world’s leading pure-play MEMS foundry, customizing solutions for prominent global clients in industries such as pharmaceuticals, consumer electronics, and automotive. We are currently looking for a Service Technician to join our Plasma Area, to ensure the up-time of our machines and focus on preventive maintenance. About the team The Plasma Area is a vital part of our production, where various materials (thin films) are added or removed from silicon wafers. Machines used in this area include PVD, PECVD, ALD, Plasma Etch Systems and evaporators. All systems utilize high vacuum and most of them use high energy plasma to achieve the desired process reactions. There are a total of eleven Service Technicians in the plasma area, with a total of five Technicians covering the day shift. About the role As a Service Technician at Silex, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our high-tech equipment is operational in production through maintenance, operations, and service tasks, all conducted in clean-room environments. You will be handling equipment that utilizes electronics, pneumatics, mechanical systems and gases. You will collaborate with skilled colleagues, including area managers, process engineers, and operators. Each day begins with a handover from the previous shift, after which tasks are planned and divided among the Service Technicians. There will be a mix of planned and unplanned service activities with a focus on re-occurring planned maintenance. You will work Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30, with some flexibility. In this role, you will Perform planned maintenance on equipment. Perform weekly cleaning of process chambers. Collaborate with Production (engineers and operators) and other service technicians. Ensure that equipment and machinery follow Silex’s policies for providing a safe work environment. We are looking for someone who Has work experience with planned maintenance of industrial machines. Is proficient in English, both written and spoken. Swedish is a plus. Is structured, and detail-oriented. Will prioritize being careful and meticulous over being fast. Has the drive and willingness to learn more and grow with Silex. Is able to collaborate well with engineers, technicians and operators.
