Our procurement function is in the midst of a transformation, and we want to be upfront about what that means for this role. Today, much of this work is hands-on and transactional: manually moving requests through intake, creating requisitions and purchase orders, routing contracts for signature, loading documents into our systems, and keeping records current. We are actively working toward intake and orchestration technology that will automate much of that manual work, and we expect the role to evolve over time from process execution toward greater category ownership. Maintain the AWS Field Engineering Playbook. * Joint product contribution & reference architectures — own the assets that lower time-to-first-DBU and unblock deployments: AWS Marketplace QuickLaunch ("Moonwalk+"), Agent Bricks ↔ Amazon Bedrock automation, the CloudFormation networking package, the AWS data-exfiltration-protection (DEP) architecture, the remote-S3 strict-residency pattern, and the EMEA cloud-consumption dashboard. * Strategic-account unblock & multicloud arbitration — lead technical arbitration in EMEA's dense multicloud accounts (BP, EasyJet, Klarna, ABSA, ADIA, Mercedes-Benz, BNP Paribas and others), where a single architectural decision can swing $1M+ ARR. * Executive alignment & external brand — run QBRs with named AWS regional leaders at BU+1, and be the EMEA technical voice at AWS Summits, DAIS, and Re:Invent EMEA. THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE: * Accelerate AWS-sourced pipeline and its conversion to consumption by aligning AWS and Databricks resources and providing the technical expertise to win and expand multicloud accounts. * Shift cloud balance toward AWS across EMEA Diamond and Pearl accounts, protecting and growing Databricks' hyperscaler revenue mix. * Grow field-wide AWS capability — through the SME community, certification programmes, and reusable architectures — so AWS depth is distributed across the EMEA field rather than concentrated in one person. * Develop and sustain senior AWS executive relationships that surface new opportunities, sharpen competitive positioning, and anchor joint go-to-market. WHAT WE LOOK FOR: * Extensive hands-on experience as a data professional in a modern, cloud-based data stack. * Hyperscaler-alliance experience (AWS strongly preferred) with credibility to be the EMEA SPOC for the AWS field and to convene a cross-region SME community. * AWS-specific technical depth — PrivateLink, VPC Lattice, IAM, networking/CloudFormation, AWS Marketplace, Amazon Bedrock, and Glue ↔ Unity Catalog federation. * At least 3 years of technical pre-sales / sales-methodology experience within a consumption business model. * Ability to collaborate with partner and customer organisations at senior-executive level, aligning their objectives to Databricks products and services. * Proven ability to run training sessions, workshops, and webinars, and to author technical content (whitepapers, reference architectures, solution guides, playbooks). * Coding in a core programming language (Python, Java, or Scala); comfort generating infrastructure-as-code (e.g. CloudFormation). * Designing, implementing, and maintaining end-to-end data architectures for Big Data, Data Warehousing, and AI on MPP-based platforms. * Managing multiple, frequently changing priorities across multiple teams. As a Staff Product Manager on Datadog's Observability Data Platform (ODP), you will lead product management for a portfolio of foundational platform bets — work that changes the cost structure and capability of the platform itself, not the cost of any single feature. Among ODP’s portfolio of engineering work are efforts to bring the platform's unit cost down meaningfully each quarter, plus a slate of architectural bets aimed at order-of-magnitude cost reduction over the longer horizon. The work you'll lead reshapes how Datadog ingests, routes, and exposes telemetry value to customers — and is foundational to how every product team in Datadog's ecosystem will think about telemetry economics going forward. This role reports to the Group Product Manager of ODP. What You'll Do: * Set product direction across foundational platform bets by defining problems and desired outcomes, partnering with engineering to determine slices of work that drive value in phases for users and the business. * Collaborate on the long-term cost-and-value architecture of the platform — how value-aware telemetry, innovative data engines, and customer-facing cost stories fit together over multiple quarters. * Develop and defend sizing and impact estimates for large, diffuse programs — credibly produce the analysis that engineering leadership and pricing partners need to make resourcing and prioritization calls. * Anticipate and communicate market trends in telemetry economics and agentic observability and how they shape platform investment. * Develop deep understanding of cost-to-serve by partnering with engineering on the unit economics of the data platform and bring that cost-profile understanding into collaborative discussions with product verticals about customer-facing trade-offs. * Surface the customer-positive angles in cost work that engineering-led optimization tickets don't currently make visible. * Deliver concise written and verbal communication to executive, engineering, and customer audiences; clarify complex architecture, cost-to-serve, and product priorities for each. Who You Are: * Strong systems thinker: you connect cause and effect across the data platform — from intake through query — and hold the throughline as scope evolves. * Cross-org synthesizer: you read across staff engineers, consuming product teams, sales / FinOps, and finance, and turn diffuse signals into a defensible product position. * Sizing and impact estimation chops: you can build a credible cost-and-impact model for work that spans multiple engineering teams and defend it in front of engineering leadership. * Collaborative and opinionated: you build trust quickly with engineers, PM peers, designers, and commercial partners; bring strong product opinions and adapt when new evidence emerges. * Comfortable operating with ambiguity and breadth: you thrive in foundational platform work where the scope shapes itself over multiple quarters. * Product management skill: you have 8+ years of Product Management experience or a track record showing Staff-level capabilities in related software roles. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
