The position is within the Transport and Handling Engineering Group (EN-THE), which is responsible for preparing, organising, and coordinating all transport and handling operations for the CERN accelerators and experiments. The Group also manages the transport of thousands of conventional and unconventional items, as well as chemical and radioactive products, each year. As a Technical Engineer in EN-THE, you will be part of the Handling Equipment Maintenance (EN-HE-HEM) Section, which manages and maintains all the industrial transport, handling and lifting equipment to ensure reliable performance throughout its lifecycle.
As a BMS Engineer based in Gävle, Sweden, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and support of Building Management Systems (BMS) within mission-critical data center environments. Working in high-availability data centers, you will ensure that critical building systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably while supporting both planned maintenance and reactive service activities. Key Responsibilities Install, commission, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Building Management Systems (BMS) and field control systems within data centers. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and support for critical infrastructure. Support automation and controls projects, including commissioning of new installations and system upgrades. Modify, program, and interrogate BMS software, control strategies, graphics, and system databases. Monitor and optimize HVAC, cooling, ventilation, and other critical building services to maximize energy efficiency and system performance. Diagnose faults quickly and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime in mission-critical environments. Ensure all maintenance and project work is completed in accordance with health, safety, and industry standards. Produce detailed service reports, commissioning documentation, and technical records. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients, contractors, and on-site operations teams. Required Skills & Experience Previous experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS) in commercial or mission-critical environments. Experience operating, maintaining, commissioning, and troubleshooting HVAC and mechanical building services. Experience with Niagara BMS systems. Experience with BMS software programming, graphics, alarms, trends, and control strategies. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills in live operational environments. Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical documentation and build positive customer relationships. Experience working in data centers or other critical infrastructure environments is highly desirable. The Role As an Inspection Engineer at Nevita, you will take on a long-term consultant assignment supporting a major industrial client in an active refinery environment. The role is based on-site in Nynäshamn, where you will work full-time as an integrated part of the client’s organization, while having Nevita as your employer and professional home. This is a hands-on position that combines field-based inspection work with documentation, reporting, and follow-up. You will support daily inspection activities at the site and related facilities, covering pressure equipment, piping, tanks, heat exchangers, fired heaters, valves, and structural steel. Depending on operational needs and shutdown activities, the role may involve travel within Sweden and occasionally to the UK. You will work closely with the client’s Inspection Manager, operations, maintenance teams, and external inspectors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient inspection execution.
