At Tobii, we build technology that enables the next generation of human-machine interaction. Our eye tracking solutions are integrated into products used by some of the world’s leading technology companies across XR and wearable devices. We are now looking for a System Engineer / System Architect to help our customers and internal teams turn complex technical challenges into scalable and robust system solutions. You will collaborate closely with global technology leaders developing next generation XR headsets and wearable products, helping teams make sound technical decisions by creating clarity around interfaces, dependencies, and system behavior. The Opportunity In this role, you will help bring advanced eye tracking technology from concept to real world products used by millions of people. You will become a key technical partner in complex customer collaborations, helping teams move from uncertainty to clear and actionable solutions. The work spans early product discussions, integration challenges, and technical decision making in projects where performance, usability, and scalability all matter. At times, this is also a consultative, customer-facing role, not purely internal system design. The role offers a unique combination of deep technology, customer interaction, and cross functional collaboration in an environment where no two projects look the same. It also requires a strong system perspective across software, firmware, electronics, optronics, algorithms, and computer vision. Your mission * Support customers in understanding what is required for successful eye tracking integration * Review and evaluate customer hardware designs (sensor/optical placement, thermal and mechanical integration, electrical interfaces) * Issue technical recommendations and decisions that shape customer product architecture * Drive system design and technical alignment across software, hardware, firmware, and algorithms * Translate customer needs into clear requirements, interfaces, and architectural decisions * Identify integration risks, technical dependencies, and system trade-offs early * Coordinate across internal development teams and customer engineering organizations * Participate hands-on when needed to troubleshoot prototypes, validate assumptions, or analyze system behavior We hope you have * Experience working with complex HW/SW product development and system integration * Background in areas such as embedded software, Linux, electronics, firmware, algorithms, computer vision, sensors/optronics, mechatronics, or complex system integration * Ability to reason about trade-offs between performance, cost, complexity, robustness, usability, and delivery speed. * Comfortable reviewing logs, prototypes, specifications, architecture diagrams, and test results to understand system behavior * Experience working cross-functionally in structured engineering environments * Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical teams and customers Any experience from XR, wearable technology, eye tracking or related sensing technologies, and from working internationally is considered a strong plus. Who are you? You are a curious and pragmatic engineer who enjoys solving complex system challenges together with others. You create clarity in technical environments with many moving parts and build trust through collaboration, communication, and sound engineering judgement. Location This role is based in Stockholm, Sweden, with a 60/40 hybrid work policy. The recruitment process Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Please submit your application as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you!
Tobii is the global leader in eye tracking and a pioneer in attention computing. For more than 20 years, we have built technology that helps understand human attention and intent. Our technology is used by companies, universities, and research institutes around the world across areas such as gaming, XR, assistive tech, research, and automotive. Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, Tobii has offices across Europe, North America, and Asia, and is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm (TOBII). We are now looking for a software engineer to join our team in Stockholm. This is an exciting and broad role where you will build stable and scalable cloud platforms for our engineering teams and products. The Opportunity As a Platform Engineer at Tobii, you will develop and operate the internal platforms and infrastructure that support our engineering organization. You will help create scalable, reliable, and easy-to-use development environments that enable teams to move faster with less operational complexity. A key part of the role is supporting large-scale compute and workloads. We operate infrastructure that handles hundreds of concurrent builds and distributed workloads, where scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency are critical. We think about internal platforms as products, with a strong focus on developer experience, usability, adoption, and continuous improvement. Your mission * Build and improve internal platforms, automation, and developer workflows across cloud environments * Explore and implement AI-assisted engineering workflows and platform capabilities * Improve scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency in distributed compute environments * Collaborate closely with product engineering teams and operations to solve platform and infrastructure challenges We hope you have * Solid experience as a software engineer or platform engineer * Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP * Curiosity around AI-driven development workflows and modern engineering practices * Interest in platform engineering, infrastructure, automation, and developer tooling * Experience with Python/C++ or similar programming languages * Experience with technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions, or similar tooling Who are you? We hope you enjoy collaborating closely with others, sharing ideas, and contributing to a culture where people help each other grow. You are curious by nature and motivated by solving problems in a thoughtful and practical way. You like taking ownership and thrive in environments where continuous improvement is part of everyday work. Location This role is based in Stockholm, Sweden, with a 60/40 hybrid work policy.
