We are always looking for a new Purple colleague. When considering a new buddy, we first look at the cultural fit - is s/he Purple, will we simply enjoy being together, is there the energy? Second, we look at capabilities and competencies. Being team-fit and capable are both important. Yet we never hire a capable superhero if we don't like the guy. So if you think you would fit into our Purple team both as a friend and as an expert who is willing to roll up your sleeves and move things forward, please do get in touch. We’ll write/call back, we promise.
OUR MISSION At Ophelos, we believe in a different way to deal with debt. One that puts empathy and understanding front and centre, approaching our customers as individuals — no matter what they’re going through. For too long, people in debt have borne the brunt of poor industry practices. Intimidating tactics, time-consuming customer service and a one-size-fits-all approach that overlooks the reasons anyone can fall into debt in the first place. Meanwhile, businesses suffer too. Poor customer experience translates to poor customer satisfaction, high churn rates, bad brand reputation and ultimately missed opportunities. That’s why we’re taking a radically different approach. Pioneering an industry-first AI-native collections platform, we build products that help individuals clear their debts in a way that suits them, whilst providing businesses with an improved customer experience and game-changing insights into their customer base. Since our launch in 2021, we’ve worked with some of the UK’s leading companies, including Octopus, Scottish Power and Philips — helping millions of people move toward a more stable, debt-free future. In 2023, we were acquired by Intrum, Europe’s biggest credit management service and have begun the next phase in our growth — expansion into 17 European markets over the next two years. FORWARD DEPLOYED ENGINEER London-based with European travel (UK, France, Portugal and beyond) ABOUT THE ROLE Ophelos is at a pivotal moment. We've built a market-leading, AI-first debt resolution platform — and now we're deploying it at scale across Intrum's European business. As our Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll lead that effort. Intrum, our parent company and one of Europe's largest credit management businesses, manages debt on behalf of a wide range of merchant clients — retailers, telcos, financial institutions, and more — across multiple European markets. Your job is to onboard those clients onto the Ophelos platform: understanding their data, their business logic, their customer portfolios, and their contractual and regulatory context, and making sure Ophelos works correctly for each of them. Every client is different. They come with different data formats and quality standards, different definitions of what a debt case looks like, different regulatory obligations depending on their sector and market, and different expectations of how their customers should be treated. Your job is to absorb all of that, map it clearly, and translate it into a solution that works — at scale, across many clients, across multiple countries. This role sits at the intersection of solution architecture, technical consulting, and product partnership. You'll spend as much time in discovery conversations and design workshops as you will in configuration files and integration specs. You'll need to be equally credible with a compliance lead in Paris, a data engineer in Lisbon, and a product manager in London. WHAT YOU'LL DO Onboard merchant clients onto Ophelos Each client Intrum brings to Ophelos has its own data structures, business rules, and portfolio characteristics. You'll lead the technical onboarding — understanding their data, designing the ingestion and mapping layer, and ensuring Ophelos represents their cases accurately and operates correctly on their behalf. Navigate localisation and regulatory complexity Operating across European markets means dealing with materially different regulatory frameworks, debt collection norms, and consumer protection requirements — which vary by country, and sometimes by client sector. You'll develop deep fluency in what those differences mean technically, and design the configuration and solution patterns that allow Ophelos to serve each context correctly. Design solutions, not just integrations You'll translate complex, sometimes ambiguous client requirements into clean solution designs — mapping existing data structures, business logic, and operational processes to Ophelos's platform. This isn't just about getting data from A to B; it's about understanding the business intent behind every field and flow, and making sure nothing gets lost in translation. Own the data ingestion layer A significant part of this role involves designing and owning how each client's data arrives into Ophelos — in the right shape, with the right validation, from the right sources. You'll work across varying data formats, system conventions, and quality standards, and build patterns that make future onboarding progressively more efficient. Close the feedback loop You're Ophelos's eyes and ears in the field. When you encounter a recurring client need, a gap in our product, a bug that only surfaces in a specific market context, or a feature that would unlock onboarding for a whole segment of clients — you bring that back clearly and systematically. You'll log issues, articulate feature requests with context and business case, and act as a structured conduit between the real world and Ophelos's product and engineering teams. Build the onboarding playbook Document what you learn. Build reusable patterns, data mapping frameworks, and localisation guides that make each subsequent client onboarding faster and more predictable than the last. Use LLM tooling as a force multiplier Like all Ophelos engineers, you'll work in an AI-first way — using Claude Code, Codex, and OpenSpec to accelerate integration work, draft specs, and explore solutions faster than traditional approaches allow. THE OPHELOS PLATFORM You'll need to develop deep familiarity with our stack — not necessarily to build core features, but to understand its capabilities, constraints, and integration surface thoroughly: * Languages: TypeScript, Python, Ruby * Backend frameworks: FastAPI, Ruby on Rails * Data: PostgreSQL (via PlanetScale), Databricks * Workflow orchestration: Temporal * Financial ledger: TigerBeetle * Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes * Observability: Datadog * LLM tooling: Claude Code, OpenSpec, Codex ABOUT YOU You're a systems thinker with technical depth and strong commercial instincts. You've probably worked in fintech, financial services, or enterprise SaaS — in a role that required you to get inside a client's world, understand it thoroughly, and design solutions that actually fit. You might come from a solutions engineering, implementation consulting, or technical architecture background. What matters is that you're equally comfortable shaping a solution design and getting hands-on with the data or configuration to make it real. You're energised by variety — different clients, different markets, different problems — rather than unsettled by it. You'll likely have: * Experience in a solutions architect, forward-deployed engineer, technical consultant, or implementation lead role — ideally at a fintech, payments, or financial services company * Strong systems thinking: you naturally map business processes, data flows, and client-specific logic into coherent technical designs * Comfort with data — understanding schemas, transformation logic, validation rules, and ingestion pipelines at a practical level * Experience navigating regulatory or compliance requirements that vary across markets, sectors, or client types * The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, and business context clearly to engineers * A structured approach to discovery: you ask good questions, document rigorously, and turn ambiguity into clarity * Willingness to travel regularly across Europe (primarily UK, France, and Portugal, with further markets to follow) Bonus points for: * Background in debt management, credit, collections, or payments — understanding the domain accelerates everything * Working knowledge of French * Experience onboarding multiple enterprise clients with divergent data models or business logic onto a shared platform * A track record of feeding structured product feedback from deployments back into a product organisation WHY THIS ROLE This is a rare opportunity to operate at the centre of a major European expansion — with real complexity, real stakes, and direct influence over how a genuinely impactful product gets adopted across a continent. You'll develop a breadth of domain knowledge, technical context, and stakeholder experience that's hard to find anywhere else. And you'll be helping Ophelos do what it exists to do: support households and businesses in breaking the cycle of problem debt. WORKING ARRANGEMENTS Based in London, with regular travel across Europe — primarily UK, France, and Portugal, with other markets to follow as the rollout expands. We value diversity and recruit, hire, and promote individuals solely based on talent, qualifications, competence, and merit. GDPR NOTICE When you apply to a job on this site, the personal data contained in your application will be collected by Ophelos ("Controller"), located at 1 Finsbury Ave, London EC2M 2PF, and can be contacted by emailing support@ophelos.com. Controller's data protection contact is Kofi Barnes, who can be contacted at support@ophelos.com. This notice explains how we process your personal data throughout our recruitment process, including at the interview stage described below. Applying for a role with Ophelos is subject to the practices described in this notice — it is not a separate agreement you sign, but a description of how the recruitment process works. You won't be given a separate notice at each stage; Ophelos retains discretion over which of the described tools and processes are applied to any given application or interview, within the purposes set out below. This discretion does not extend to introducing automated decision-making without human review — that is addressed separately below. What we use your data for Your personal data will be processed for the purposes of managing Controller's recruitment-related activities, which include reviewing applications, setting up and conducting interviews and tests, evaluating and assessing the results, and as is otherwise needed in the recruitment and hiring process. As part of this process, we use software tools — including AI-assisted tools — to help us organise, screen, and evaluate applications and interviews. This includes: * Automated analysis of CVs and application materials to identify relevant skills and experience * Automated analysis of interview transcripts to help summarise and score responses (see "Interviews" below) * Generating scores, summaries, or insights to assist our recruiters Currently, these AI-assisted outputs are advisory only. A human recruiter reviews every application and every AI-generated score or summary before any decision is made, and no application is filtered out or rejected by an automated process alone. We may in future use automated tools to make, or take part in making, decisions about your application without human review at that stage, if we do so in a way that complies with applicable law at the time — for example, by obtaining your explicit consent, or where the decision is necessary for entering into a contract with you, and in either case only with appropriate safeguards, including your ability to request human review of, and to contest, that decision. If we intend to introduce this, we will update this notice and separately inform you before it applies to your application — this notice alone does not authorise it. We also use historical, aggregated recruitment data to improve our processes generally — for example, to better understand which factors tend to be associated with successful hires. Where this involves data from past applicants, it is anonymised or aggregated before use, and is not used to make any decision about a specific individual. Such processing is legally permissible under Art. 6(1)(f) UK/EU GDPR as necessary for the legitimate interests pursued by the Controller: the solicitation, evaluation, and selection of applicants for employment, and the improvement of Controller's recruitment processes. Interviews — recording and transcription If you're invited to an interview conducted by video or phone call, it will be recorded and automatically transcribed as a standard part of our recruitment process — this is described in this notice, which applies to your application as explained above. Where an interview is recorded: * The interview will be recorded and transcribed using our video-calling provider (Google Meet). * The transcript will be processed by AI tools (including models provided by Anthropic and Google) to help generate a summary and structured notes for the interview panel, and to help train and improve our own recruitment tools as described above. * The recording, transcript, and any AI-generated summary will be stored on Ophelos's systems (hosted via Cloudflare) and in Greenhouse. * A human interviewer/panel always reviews the AI-generated summary as part of forming their own assessment — it is a starting point for the panel, not a decision in itself. Recording and transcribing interviews in this way is necessary for us to evaluate all candidates fairly and consistently, and is carried out under our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in running a fair, well-documented recruitment process. Who we share your data with Your personal data will be shared with the following processors, engaged by Controller to help manage its recruitment and hiring process: * Greenhouse Software, Inc. — applicant tracking system (United States) * Google LLC — video interview hosting/recording (Google Meet), and AI models used to help analyse application and interview materials (United States) * Anthropic, PBC — AI models used to help analyse and summarise application and interview materials (United States) * Cloudflare, Inc. — infrastructure and data storage supporting our recruitment tools [confirm storage region before publishing] We use application and interview data, including through AI-assisted tools, to train and improve our own internal recruitment tools and models — for example, to refine how we identify relevant skills and experience, and to better understand what tends to be associated with successful hires. This is part of how we evaluate and improve our recruitment process on an ongoing basis. The third-party AI providers who process this data on our behalf do not use it to train their own general-purpose AI models — it is used only to generate the specific outputs described in this notice. International data transfers Because the above providers are located in or transfer data to the United States, if you are located outside the United States, your personal data will be transferred to the United States once you submit it or once your interview is processed. Where the European Commission has not made an adequacy determination covering such a transfer, it is subject to appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified. You can obtain a copy of the relevant safeguards by contacting support@ophelos.com. How long we keep your data Your personal data, including any interview recordings, transcripts, and AI-generated summaries, will be retained for the duration of the recruitment process and for 24 months afterwards, to allow us to consider you for other roles and manage any related legal claims, after which it will be deleted or anonymised. You can request earlier deletion at any time by contacting support@ophelos.com. Your rights Under the GDPR, you have the right to request access to your personal data, to request that it be rectified or erased, and to request that processing be restricted. You also have the right to data portability and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, including interview recording — though for the reasons explained above, we may not be able to progress an application where a candidate objects to standard recording of the interview stage. In addition, you may lodge a complaint with an EU or UK supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
Monumental is automating on-site construction with robotics and software. Our mission is to make construction software-defined and autonomous - a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings go up in a single day, with minimal labour. We're a growing team of engineers, operators and technicians from companies like Palantir, Qualcomm, Dyson, Shopify, Tesla, Meta and Google DeepMind. It's still the early days of building the company, and this is a chance to make an outsized impact on a problem that matters. From day one, you’ll be working with an experienced founding team backed, backed by a $32M Series B led by Khosla Ventures and Plural. You'll be part of our founding US team - pilots are on the way as we expand into the market, with facilities to follow. To get you started, we'll cover travel and accommodation for a few weeks of onboarding at Monumental HQ, in the city centre of Amsterdam - a beautiful facility with an in-house workshop and robot testing floor. We're explicitly not a hybrid or remote-first company - you can't build robots or walls from home, so we're onsite five days a week. Read more on why we believe you should spend your time working on construction, and learn about our vision and company. You might enjoy Based in Europe’s film on how we’re fixing Europe’s housing shortage, or this video by Andreas Klinger of what our office looks like. About the role We're looking for an entrepreneurial operator. You'll sit at the front line of our commercial engine. This is our first commercial hire in the US. You'll be on the ground, opening a brand-new market from scratch as we expand beyond Europe. Monumental is unique in that we're completely vertically-integrated. We design and build our own hardware and software, we manufacture the robots in-house, and we deploy them on construction sites ourselves, with our own team, operating as a subcontractor. Your job is not just to "book meetings" or "support sales", your job is to help build repeatable commercial momentum in a project-based industry that doesn't change easily. We build cutting-edge technology, but we sell the old-fashioned way: by showing up, walking the site, and earning trust in person. If you're looking for a remote-first sales role, this isn't it. Construction rewards presence, not polished slides. You'll work closely with our Deployment leadership, Country Managers and founders to identify the right customers, open doors, qualify real opportunities and scope the technical achievability, and move them forward toward live deployments. We call this role GTM, not because it's trendy, but because in construction, "sales" only works when go-to-market, operations, and delivery actually line up. You'll spend time on calls, site visits, and internal coordination with our forward deployed engineers. You'll learn how construction projects are actually sold, how decisions are made, and how our technology fits into real-world projects. We are unable to support relocation or sponsorship for this role. Applicants must be based in the US, eligible to work willing for frequent travel between the US and the Netherlands. What you'll do * Figure out how to go from small construction pilot deployments to ongoing commercial deployments, and then scale to multiple concurrent deployments. We expect you to act as the initial Deployment Manager in the US so you can build up enough tacit knowledge before scaling up. * Ensure there is always more than sufficient demand for our product. Our sales tends to be low-lift work, but you should still be excellent at it and always have the feeling that you're short on supply to meet the demand you've generated. * Hire, onboard, and manage a local team of robot and deployment operators that will operate our robots and other tasks on construction sites. We're planning to seed the US team with members from our Dutch team so you can hit the ground running and more easily bootstrap Monumental's unique culture in a new location. * Manage our fleet of robots and, with the rest of the HQ team, figure out how to manage a remote fleet across the Atlantic. * Set up whatever local facilities will be needed in the US, from a small office to a potential storage or maintenance hub. * Stand up the required legal structure for us to operate and scale in the US. This includes setting up local entities, navigating state and federal employment law, and all other relevant regulation. You're comfortable navigating complicated questions that involve new technology in old industries, liaising with the right counsel when needed. What we’re looking for * Minimum of 6 years of experience in a chaotic, entrepreneurial, high-growth, unstructured environment. This could be as a startup founder, GM, sales, operations, business development or a similar area where you've seen rapid growth, and where we don't need to explain to you why grit and resilience are important character traits for this role. * A strong bias-to-action and getting-shit-done mentality with the required tenacity and speed. The emphasis of this role is execution, not making decks. * You're able to context switch from strategic work to very practical work throughout the day, and nothing feels beneath you. There will be days where in the morning you're literally getting your feet dirty, helping carry mortar on a construction site, while interviewing senior candidates in the afternoon. * A strong strategic business sense. You have proven experience doing sales, pricing, negotiations, and account management. You're comfortable being responsible for the P&L of your deployments and the entire US operation. * You're an excellent communicator. You need to be comfortable chatting with people from all over the construction industry, from billionaire real estate developers to junior tradesmen on the construction site. * You have experience hiring and managing a team and you understand the importance of filtering for and instilling the right culture. You'll be responsible for hiring the initial team in the US. * Raw intellectual horsepower and eagerness to learn. We expect this role to have a steep learning curve whatever your background, and this role might in practice feel like a completely new job every 3-6 months. * Willingness for frequent travel between the US and the Netherlands. We expect you to spend a significant amount of time in the Netherlands in the first 3-6 months for onboarding and immersion, and then likely some travel cadence after. * A child-like excitement and optimism to be building the future, with robots, that will build houses for people to live in. Why Monumental? Joining Monumental means being at the forefront of a movement aimed at making significant strides in the construction industry. Here, your work has the potential to impact not just the company but the future of how we build. If you're driven by innovation, eager to tackle complex challenges, and ready to make a tangible difference, we want to hear from you. For open applications (where you don’t see an exact role match), please reach out to us at: iwanttojoin@monumental.co - share with us the most interesting or challenging project you’ve worked on, why you want to join and your CV or portfolio. Unfortunately we do not currently support internships. If you don’t meet all the qualifications here but are excited about Monumental and feel you’d still be able to help us solve difficult problems, do get in touch. We welcome generalists who focus on outcomes and are eager to learn on the job.
Let’s fix hospitality, for good. Running restaurants in the US is brutal - margins are razor thin, waste is high, and teams are stretched to the limit. But it doesn’t have to be this hard. That’s why we built Nory. Our CEO, Conor, knows the pain first-hand. After founding and scaling Mad Egg in Ireland, he got tired of juggling “market-leading” systems, clunky spreadsheets, and endless printouts. So he built the tool he wished he’d had from day one. Nory is the all-knowing restaurant management system. It blends real-time data with AI predictive analytics, giving operators control of their margins. From food prep to forecasting, it’s operational intelligence that helps restaurants run with consistency, certainty, and profit. The result? Thriving restaurants, better jobs, less waste, stronger margins. And we’re just getting started. Fresh off a Series B led by Kinnevik and Accel, we’ve grown to 100+ people across Ireland, the UK, and Spain - and now we’re bringing Nory to the US. We’re now looking for a Solutions Consultant to join our growing Sales team as our first Solutions Consulting hire based in the US. In this role, you’ll have the unique opportunity to build our US Solutions Consulting function from the ground up, becoming the technical and commercial credibility behind our most complex deals. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: * Own solution validation on our biggest deals: Partner with Sales on strategic, mid-market and enterprise opportunities across the US - running discovery, mapping how Nory fits into a prospect’s existing systems, and building the confidence a sceptical buyer needs before they’ll commit. * Own technical scoping on complex deals: Map how Nory fits into a prospect’s existing systems - POS, payroll, inventory - and catch anything that could block or derail a deal long before it gets there. * Build deep domain credibility: Speak fluently about the day-to-day of running a restaurant or multi-site hospitality business - labour, food cost, waste - so prospects hear a fellow operator, not a script. * Run demos that don’t feel like demos: Bring real operator credibility into the room. You’ll talk to prospects candidly about the pain you’ve lived, not read from a script, and know when to speak, what to leave out, and when to bring the deal team back in. * Build the assets that make the function scale: Playbooks, demo environments, competitive battlecards - the stuff that means this doesn’t just live in your head. * Close the loop with Product and Customer Success: Surface product gaps and workflow nuances early, and hand off cleanly to CS so nothing falls through the cracks after signature. * Help build the playbook, not just follow it: This is Nory’s first Solutions Consulting hire based in the US. You’ll shape how this function runs here from day one, working alongside our UK-based Solutions Consultant rather than inheriting a finished process. WHAT YOU’LL BRING: * Solutions Consulting or Sales Engineering experience in restaurant technology: ideally with a comparably complex, multi-product hospitality platform. * Genuine technical range: you can map and talk credibly about POS, payroll, and inventory data flows without needing someone else to translate for you. * Sharp commercial instinct: the kind of judgement that means an AE trusts you alone in a room with a prospect - you know what to say, what to hold back, and when to bring in the rest of the deal team. * A self-starter’s comfort with ambiguity: this function is still two people. You’ll be building your own structure here, not working inside someone else’s. * Based in the United States, ideally on the East Coast, with the flexibility to travel regularly to be in front of customers. Nice-to-haves: * Direct multi-unit hospitality operator experience - having actually run or worked inside restaurant operations builds a kind of credibility that’s hard to fake * Comfort building reusable assets like playbooks, prototypes, or demo environments * Data or analytics literacy If you’re excited by what we’re building, we’d love to hear from you—even if you don’t tick every box. WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURN: 📈 Meaningful equity with standard 4-year vesting and 1-year cliff - at Nory everyone is an owner! 🏥 Health, dental, and vision insurance with employee cover and dependent cover 📈 401k with company match up to 4% 🌴 20 days paid time off, plus public holidays 🍼 12 weeks paid parental leave for birthing parent, and 4 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parent 📚 $1,000 annual personal development budget + quarterly book budget 🖥️ $250 home office workspace budget ✈️ Frequent travel to London and Dublin and regular offsites & socials 👏 And much more HOW WE WORK Our vision is to build a better future for the restaurant industry. One where operators are in control, margins are stronger, and frontline teams can build careers they’re proud of. To get there, we move fast, stay focused, and hold ourselves to a high bar. Our values guide how we work, grow, and win – together. These are the values we live by: * We serve up impact with a side of profit We prioritise work that delivers real financial results for our restaurant partners. * We prioritise speed of service We move fast, unblock quickly, and deliver with urgency. * We act like owners We own problems, raise the bar, and build better every day. * We win as a crew We grow stronger through feedback, collaboration, and shared wins. WE HIRE HUMANS. At Nory, we believe that diverse teams build better products. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities, and walks of life. We do not discriminate based on gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, family status, age, disability, or race. What matters to us is how you think, how you work, and what you bring to the table. Please let us know if you require any adjustments so you can bring your best self to the interview process
