Adyen is looking for a Strategic & Business Risk Specialist to join our Amsterdam-based second-line Strategic Risk team, part of
the global Enterprise Risk function. You have a solid grasp of non-financial and strategic risk, its core risk types, and its
value within a business. You are looking for an opportunity to learn quickly, take on increasing responsibility, and develop a
strong foundational framework for assessing risk. You will gain experience in Adyen’s global risk management organization and will

The Tech Risk team within the second line Enterprise Risk function, ensures that risk management practices are applied across Adyen’s technological environments, teams and initiatives. The Resilience Risk Officer acts as an enabler of innovation, deeply integrating with engineering to transform technical complexity into operational strength. You will champion a digital resilience strategy that not only safeguards the platform but actively enables rapid, reliable growth, ensuring that resilience is embedded at the core of Adyen’s technological change. The ideal candidate is an experienced Tech Risk professional, with relevant expertise in Governance, Risk and Compliance, with solid technical understanding to advance the IS & IT Risk framework to the next level of maturity in areas such as Digital Operational Resilience and IT Excellence (IT Capacity, Change Management, etc.). What you will do * Ensure effective technology risk mitigation by executing risk assessments across IT areas, projects, and assets, and advising stakeholders on the risk actions. * Collaborate closely with tech leadership and build an internal network to ensure the Resilience and IT Excellence domains remain represented in business activities, contributing to decision making. * Drive the second line risk oversight for Technology risks associated with the domains, including KRI design, risk monitoring and reporting. * Collaborate with other Enterprise Risk domains, in order to incorporate IT risks into Adyen’s risk profile, ensuring those are considered when evaluating company objectives. * Collaborate with or advise other second-line teams (typically Regulatory, Compliance and Privacy) in the implementation of requirements in Adyen’s tech environments, * Engage with regulators, globally, to provide clarity on Adyen’s IT Resilience risk strategy and posture. Who you are * You have at least 5+ years experience with IT risk management, working with(in) the second line risk management or in technology risk consulting in a Big 4 firm or comparable. * Demonstrated experience in IT risk evaluations, IT Resilience best practices, Incident Management and Business continuity processes, as well as associate regulations such as DORA, NIS2 or recognized industry frameworks. * You feel comfortable explaining availability risks and resilience, IT excellence measures and processes to engineers but also to business stakeholders. * You have a solid understanding of commonly used technology stack (hardware, software, network and systems, on-prem or cloud environments), at the level required to identify risks or weaknesses and recommend tangible actions, design metrics to enable risk monitoring and oversight. * You are innovative, flexible with strong problem-solving capabilities and able to define effective processes and framework, when possible scaling them via automation. You will sit within IT but collaborate closely with Legal, Finance etc, as many topics touch on compliance, GDPR, NIS2, the AI Act, and regulatory inquiries.
