As a Product Developer Intern at Colonist, your mission is to work closely with our game team to solve complex product problems
and build engaging game modes, ensuring seamless UI/UX across platforms. You'll learn how high-quality games and products are

About The Role As a Product Engineer at Colonist, your mission is to develop and enhance game modes and features to deliver excellent player experiences. You will oversee the full development of game interfaces, ensuring seamless UI/UX across platforms, high code quality, performance, and stability. Your technical skills and player-focused mindset will shape how 3,6 million players engage with our games each year. What You’ll Do * Evolve our game architecture, ensuring cleaner code boundaries and better scalability * Architect multi-platform systems to enable consistent features * Scale the codebase to support multiple game titles, while maintaining performance and developer velocity * Own full-stack development, from backend logic to polished UI * Balance technical complexity and product value, helping prioritize work that brings the biggest impact to players * Review pull requests and mentor peers to ensure code quality, maintainability, and strong architectural foundations * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn concepts into highly engaging and intuitive player experiences * Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks, ensuring gameplay feels smooth even under heavy load * Continuously improve tools and workflows, leveraging automation, testing, and CI/CD for faster iteration Requirements * Deep experience with modern full-stack development * AI first-mindset. About The Role You'll own the visual quality of Colonist's UI. That means translating game mechanics into beautiful, intuitive interfaces, and making every button, animation, and screen feel like it belongs in a world players want to stay in. You'll work closely with developers and product to ship work that reaches millions of players. This isn't a support role. We want someone who pushes quality forward independently and treats the product like their own. What You'll Do * Create high-quality UI designs that set a new standard for creativity and usability * Create animations and motion that make interactions feel alive and intentional * Collaborate with developers and QA to ensure designs ship as intended * Identify and solve visual problems without waiting to be asked Requirements * AI first-mindset. About The Role As a Product Associate, you will accelerate growth by driving player activation and retention through data-driven insights and a deep understanding of user behavior. You’ll help scale our platform by organizing research, identifying UX issues, designing and running experiments, and transforming complex inputs into clear, testable product initiatives for a game with over 5 million annual players. What You’ll Do * Research and analyze competitive game modes and premium features to create product matrices and propose experiments * Identify and document UX issues through structured investigation and competitor benchmarking * Create mockups and low-fidelity designs to communicate experiments and UX improvements * Define success metrics, design and sequence experiments, and estimate impact * Oversee experiments end-to-end: prepare specs, coordinate design and development, QA builds, launch, analyze results, and produce actionable reports * Analyze funnel and experiment data to generate actionable insights * Coordinate cross-functionally to execute experiments and maintain quality * Conduct user testing and playtests to validate solutions and gather insights * Break down complex projects into clear, testable steps for async execution * Report results, trade-offs, and recommendations in structured written formats Requirements * AI first-mindset.
