We are looking for our new Senior Engineer for our team responsible for developing and maintaining the backend two important pieces of our products: Risk Assessment and Dunning & Collection. This includes designing, implementing, and testing new features, as well as improving the performance and scalability of existing ones. What you’ll do * The goal is to improve the functionality and user experience of SumUp's lending platform and to ensure that it meets the needs of our merchants. * Design and develop Risk Assessment and Dunning & Collection micro-services, considering differences between markets; * Improve the performance and scalability of the systems; * Design and develop integration with external partners to enable growth. * Contribute to the development of a high-performing team. Your day-to-day    This role is all about collaborating with your team to make a difference to your customers. As a backend engineer you’ll work in a squad alongside other disciplines like product managers, marketers, user researchers, designers, mobile engineers, web engineers, data analysts, business analysts, writers and more!  Together you’ll build and support a particular part of Monzo. Our squads belong to our wider collectives (a word we use to describe self-governing business units of ~100 people). They are; Core Banking, Business Banking, Wealth, Borrowing, Growth, Payments, Platform, Fincrime, Security & Expansion.
