We're an independent European digital product studio with a strong track record of delivering market-defining strategies and
products for enterprises and governments. With about 200 talented people across three countries, premium AI capabilities and a
diverse portfolio of international clients, we define, design and ship high-quality digital products, strategies and software.
From global cloud-based platforms and large-scale apps to medical devices, banking software and augmented reality experiences. In
a nutshell: if it lives and breathes digital, it’s what we do best.
At In The Pocket, you join a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, strategists and data specialists who care about the
work as much as the people they work with. We work in small, autonomous teams that stay close to our clients and their users, and
we give everyone the space to take ownership, speak up and grow. You’ll learn from colleagues across our studios, ship products
that reach thousands or even millions of people and help shape what digital can do for leading organisations in Europe.
Software delivery is accelerating fast, and AI is at the heart of it. That brings exciting opportunities, but also new complexity:
more code shipped means more to validate, more to govern, and more to get right. We're looking for a Quality Engineer who thrives
in that environment. Someone who can shape a quality strategy that keeps pace with change, and who knows how to leverage AI as a
tool without losing sight of the hard questions it raises. At In The Pocket, this role is less about running tests and more about
owning quality as a discipline: setting the strategy, earning buy-in, coaching people, and making sure the right guardrails are in
place, even as the tools and the pace of delivery keep evolving.

You’ll learn from colleagues across our studios, ship products that reach thousands or even millions of people and help shape what digital can do for leading organisations in Europe. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHAT YOU’LL DO We're building a brand-new RUN team from the ground up, a dedicated operational function that owns the after-care of the products we run, both our own and the ones we host or operate for customers. As one of the first people on the team, you won't inherit a fixed playbook: you'll write it, shaping how the team works, the practices and tooling it adopts, and how operational excellence becomes part of how we build and run products. It's a hands-on, senior role where you set the technical and operational direction for a small team of two to three people, leading by expertise and example rather than as a manager. AI is transforming how we work, and you'll bring that same fluency to how the RUN team operates from day one. If defining a new discipline energises you more than maintaining an established one, this is your challenge. * Take operational ownership of internal and hosted products in production, keeping them reliable, secure, performant and cost-effective. * Own the incident lifecycle end to end (detection, response, mitigation, resolution and blameless post-mortems) using incident.io, and take part in a fair, sustainable on-call rotation. * Define and operationalise SLIs, SLOs and error budgets, and be a key figure in maintenance and SLA presales, shaping proposals, contracts and framework agreements. * Build and maintain a modern observability stack with a strong focus on OpenTelemetry. * Grow a platform engineering and inner-sourcing culture: reusable components (e.g. GitLab components, Terraform modules), self-service golden paths and production-readiness scorecards for product teams. * Work hands-on across CI/CD, infrastructure as code, cloud-native architecture and networking, and design for resilience, performance and scale. * Embed security into everything you run, secrets management, scanning (SAST/DAST), penetration tests and vulnerability remediation. * Reduce toil through automation and an AI-first approach to operations, keeping a close feedback loop with the development teams. * Play an enabling role in setting and enforcing best practices when it comes to end-to-end incident management. WHO YOU ARE You won't tick every box on day one, depth in the core matters more than breadth across all of it, and you'll grow the team's capabilities around the gaps. * A senior DevOps / SRE engineer with proven, hands-on experience running products in production and owning their reliability. * Energised by building and shaping a new team and discipline, and comfortable setting direction where none exists yet. * AI-native in how you work, AI is part of your daily craft, and you apply it to operations, automation and reliability. * Strong on incident management (incident.io a plus) and experienced with maintenance/SLA contracts, framework agreements and presales, including SLIs and SLOs. * Deep observability expertise (ideally OpenTelemetry), with a broad hands-on foundation across cloud-native (GCP or AWS), CI/CD and IaC (GitLab, Terraform), networking and resilience. * Security-minded, scanning (SAST/DAST), penetration testing, secrets and vulnerability management. * A platform engineering mindset, self-service capabilities, reusable components and inner sourcing. * A collaborative communicator who works well with development teams, client partners and customer operations teams. WHAT WE OFFER Joining In The Pocket means becoming part of a team that shapes the future of our clients’ businesses across Europe. Here’s what you can look forward to: * You’ll start with a permanent contract in a role that comes with responsibility and the opportunity to make a real impact from day one. * We offer a competitive salary that reflects your experience and the value you bring. * Our benefits package has you covered with hospitalisation and group insurance, meal vouchers, a phone subscription, and more. * You’ll have a mobility budget that lets you decide how to get around, your way. * Life at In The Pocket isn’t just about work, we host team events throughout the year to celebrate, connect, and have fun together. * Learning never stops here, so after six months, you’ll receive a dedicated learning and development budget to keep growing your skills and exploring new horizons.
About DataCamp At DataCamp, we believe in empowering individuals and teams through data literacy. As a leading platform for data science and analytics education, we offer engaging, interactive courses designed by top experts. Our mission is to make data skills accessible to everyone, helping learners and organizations thrive in the data-driven world. With a diverse community of millions of learners, we provide a supportive and dynamic environment where you can grow your career and make an impact. Join us and be part of our journey to democratize data education! About the role We're looking for an Engineering Manager who brings real passion, innovation, and entrepreneurial drive to leading the teams behind the systems that power how millions of people learn. You'll partner closely with Product and Design to shape your team's direction, drive execution, and continuously raise the bar on how we build and ship. You'll lead a cross-functional product engineering team that takes large, ambiguous projects from idea to impact with real autonomy — prototyping, measuring, and iterating in fast feedback loops rather than grinding through tickets. Your primary mission is to ensure the team ships high-quality software that delights learners, while cultivating a culture of ownership, urgency, and accountability. You'll also help drive the technical roadmap, balancing new feature development with platform robustness and performance. This is an AI-native organization, not an AI-curious one. Agentic coding tools like Claude Code and Codex are core to how the team works every day, alongside LLMs and AI APIs. As the manager, you set the tone: you're expected to be hands-on with these tools yourself, to push your engineers to use them to prototype faster and raise quality, and to build a team culture where AI fluency is the baseline, not a bonus. If you're excited about leading great engineers, shaping the future of how DataCamp builds and ships, and growing a team that operates at scale, we'd love to hear from you. Responsibilities * Build and develop a high-performing full-stack team, and foster a culture of ownership, urgency, and accountability that gives engineers the autonomy to make their projects count. * Drive delivery of high-quality software end to end — idea, build, release, measurement, iteration — balancing delivery speed with long-term code and platform health. * Set a high bar for agentic tooling and keep raising it — so the team prototypes faster, ships higher-quality code, and spends more time on the problems that matter most. * Partner with Product and Design to define and execute the team's roadmap, using data, metrics, and user feedback to decide what to build next. * Lead technical decision-making and architecture for scalability, reliability, and maintainability — increasingly for LLM-powered services — and champion strong practices in testing, observability, and code quality. What are we looking for? * You have 7+ years building software across the stack with a clear command of scalable system design, modern API design, and software lifecycle best practices — experience with our stack (TypeScript, Node.js, React) is a strong plus. * You've spent 3+ years leading engineering teams and seen people grow under your guidance. You're a strong communicator — you listen well, speak clearly, and build trust across Product, Design, and Data. * You thrive in fast-paced, high-velocity environments — start-up or early-stage experience — moving fast, staying focused on impact, and driving projects forward with a strong sense of ownership. * Proven ability to deliver high-quality software in cross-functional product teams, taking large, ambiguous problems end to end. * You're AI-native — agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex) are part of how you work, and you have a credible point of view on integrating them into an engineering team's workflow. Bonus if you've written your own skills or wired up MCP servers and can show us what you've built. * A strong product mindset paired with pragmatism — you understand your users, weigh data and feedback with good taste, and make sharp trade-offs to drive decisions rather than chase perfection. What’s in it for you? In addition to joining a creative and international start-up, you'll enjoy: * An exciting role with both technical and people leadership challenges every day. * A competitive salary with fringe benefits. * Flexible working hours and location. * International company retreats. * Learning and development. We encourage continued education through a conference budget and external training. * Working with a great team (everyone says this, but we're serious — we're pretty great).
