The Okta Privileged Access Management Team (PAM)   The Okta Privileged Access Management (PAM) is an identity-centric approach to a common and critical privileged access use case. Our elegant Zero Trust architecture is purpose-built for the modern cloud and helps customers solve challenging security and operations pain points at scale. .   The Software Engineering Manager We are looking for a manager to lead the product development team behind this fast-growing product as we continue our mission to secure the internet by building a scalable, reliable product that customers love to use. What you’ll be doing  * Lead a team of engineers responsible for building the backend, frontend for PAM features. * You’ll lead the adoption of AI across your team’s software development workflows, integrating it thoughtfully to improve productivity, quality, and speed. * Work closely with Product Management to develop and implement our product roadmap. * Empower your teams to focus on usability, scale and reliability. * Recruit great engineers to accelerate our work. * Mentor, retain and develop engineers as they advance in their own careers. * Establishing clear priorities, expectations, and accountability for individuals and team * Driving the execution and delivery of product features with high quality, collaborating with cross-functional teams, System Architects, QA, and Documentation teams What you’ll bring to the role * Have managed software engineering teams with end-to-end ownership over their technical stack, development environment and production performance. * Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude, with the ability to integrate them effectively into day-to-day engineering workflows. * Are excited to build an amazing product - and believe the best way to do so is by leading and empowering engineers. * Are familiar with infrastructure tools such as AWS, GCP, Ansible, Terraform or Kubernetes. * Have successfully built high-performing engineering teams which deliver their product “as a Service”. * Have opinions on topics like feature flags, CI pipelines and technical debt. * Are comfortable leading geographically distributed teams. * Thrive on autonomy, and use it to get stuff done. We are looking for a Staff Full Stack Engineer to build the user experience for the Okta Recovery Vault (ORV). The ORV is a critical new enterprise-grade capability designed to protect against the accidental or malicious deletion of identity objects. This role is essential to our "Land big, grow fast" strategy, by providing customers with a reliable safety net for their data. You will be responsible for designing and implementing a highly intuitive self-service recovery UI. This interface must empower admins to perform complex operations—such as bulk restorations of hundreds of users, managing configurable retention policies, and navigating detailed post-restore checklists—with confidence and ease. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * UI Development: Lead the implementation of the Recovery Vault UI, ensuring a seamless experience for authorized admins via the Okta Admin Console. * Complex Workflows: Build interactive interfaces for granular and bulk recovery operations, including async job progress indicators and success notifications. * Data Visualization: Develop the "Captured" data summary view, using visual cues like status icons and tooltips to show admins exactly which credentials and relationships are recoverable at a glance. * Advanced Filtering: Create robust filtering and search components that allow admins to scope deletions by source (Admin UI, Automation, SCIM) and time-based presets (Last 24h, 3 days, 7 days). * User Guidance: Implement interactive post-restore checklists and summary modals to guide admins through manual follow-up actions like MFA re-enrollment and API token reissuance. * Collaboration: Partner closely with Lead Product Designers and Product Managers to define the "how" of the user journey, ensuring the UI reduces admin "panic" during critical deletion incidents. * Performance: Ensure the UI remains responsive and performant even when handling large datasets during bulk operations. * Backend: Design, build, and maintain end-to-end features using modern JavaScript and cloud-native technologies (React, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL). * Lead technical design for key initiatives, driving quality, scalability, and maintainability. * Own services throughout their lifecycle — including implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and incident response. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES * 8+ years of experience building modern web applications in a full-stack environment. * Deep expertise in TypeScript, ReactJS, and Node.js (Express or similar frameworks). * Expertise in Java, springboot, kafka * Experience designing APIs and building robust services at scale in a distributed, cloud-based architecture. * Experience with PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kubernetes. * Experience delivering elegant, enterprise-grade user experiences by partnering with Product and Design teams in a fast-paced, agile environment. * Ability to collaborate closely with Architects to make smart technical tradeoffs, and drive alignment across teams. * Passion for craftsmanship and high engineering standards (testing, monitoring, documentation, scalability). * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and build consensus across functions. * A growth mindset and interest in mentoring others and upleveling the team.   NICE TO HAVES * Experience building administrative dashboards or recovery-focused tools. * Familiarity with Identity and Access Management concepts (Users, Groups, MFA, and RBAC). * Experience with feature flag frameworks and gradual rollout strategies. * Knowledge of accessibility (A11y) standards for enterprise software. * Experience with observability platforms to monitor UI performance and error rates.
