Head of Strategy & Business Operations The Strategy & Business Operations Lead will play a critical role in shaping and driving Adyen’s long term direction. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, planning and business operations and partners closely with Leadership to drive company wide alignment, informed decision making and eventually ensure we deliver.  You will lead strategic, cross-cutting initiatives, establish strong operating rhythms and build a high performing team to support the Adyen growth and evolution. This is a full-time position based in our Amsterdam or Chicago office reporting into our VP of Global Strategy & Execution. What you’ll do: Company wide Strategy: * Support shaping the global Adyen strategy and strategic initiatives.   * Enable strategic decision making through a clear and aligned framework across different options (across Buy-Partner-Build).  * Analyze market dynamics and assess internal capabilities to inform strategic decisions. Drive deep dives and/or intelligence on trends and opportunities. Strategic Planning: * Shape and drive Adyen wide Strategic Planning, Priorities and Goals in close collaboration with the business and Strategic Finance.  * Lead investment and trade-off discussions, connecting resources and investments to strategic priorities and business outcomes.  Business Operations: * Shape, implement and drive business operations rhythms through business reviews: Monitor the health of the business through the creation of performance dashboards, key performance indicators and tracking priorities at varying levels.  * Cross functional alignment and connect strategy (e.g. commercial, operations etc) across Adyen.  Strategic Communication:  * Design and roll out a clear company wide strategy communication plan, working closely with Internal and External Communications to ensure consistent messaging across all teams and functions at Adyen. Leadership: * Establish, lead and develop a high-performing team to deliver across Strategy & Business Operations. Who you are: * 18+ years of experience across Strategy, Business operations, Corporate Development, Product, Finance or related roles within Tech companies. * 7+ years of proven experience building, leading and scaling high-performing teams. * At least 3 years of dedicated experience driving company-wide strategy is a must.  * A long-term systems thinker with a proven track record of scaling, operationalizing and evolving company strategy. * A trusted partner to leadership, capable of building strong relationships and credibility across different functions and levels of the organization.  * Highly effective at influencing direction and outcomes without direct authority. * Experienced in operating within cross-functional environments, balancing diverse perspectives and ultimately driving execution forward.  * Data-driven, leveraging quantitative and qualitative insights to inform recommendations, decisionmaking and trade-offs. * Able to distill complex, ambiguous problems into clear insights, structured approaches and actionable next steps. * End-to-end owner with a bias for action, taking accountability from problem definition to implementation. What you’ll be doing Working closely with teams across the business You’ll spend time with different departments to understand their workflows, challenges, and goals and help identify where automation or AI can create real value. Turning ideas into clear, actionable plans You’ll take insights from the business and turn them into detailed project specifications (e.g., workflow descriptions, pain points, feasibility assessments, and expected outcomes), giving our development team everything they need to build effectively. Building and prioritising our pipeline You’ll own and continuously evolve our AI & Automation roadmap, balancing impact, feasibility, and readiness across the organisation. Supporting adoption and understanding You’ll help teams feel confident using AI tools and solutions through workshops, demos, and by showcasing what’s already been achieved. Leading and growing the team You’ll support and guide a small, growing team, but your primary output isn't management. It's the project specs and pipeline that drive what gets built next. You'll create clarity around priorities and make sure the team always knows what to build and why. A quick clarification: This role is focused on business process automation and applied AI across the organisation. It is not about building AI features for games. We think you’ll enjoy this role if you: Have experience writing technical specifications, project briefs, or requirements documents that development teams actually used to build from Have 10+ years of experience in technology, business analysis, systems analysis or similar Have worked closely with business stakeholders, not just in purely technical roles Have hands-on experience delivering automation end-to-end Are comfortable working across different business areas Communicate clearly and enjoy making complex topics easy to understand Feel comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders Are based in (or open to relocating to) Stockholm It’s a plus if you also have Experience with applied AI tools (e.g. GPT, Azure OpenAI, Copilot, Power Automate) Experience in regulated environments (e.g. iGaming) Experience managing or mentoring a team Worked with process improvement or maturity frameworks Experience showcasing work through demos, training, or presentations A habit of measuring impact (efficiency gains, cost savings, etc.) What success could look like In your first months, you’ll start building relationships across the business, shape a clear pipeline of opportunities, and help bring several initiatives into development, while creating visibility and understanding at the leadership level. The Role As our Head of Data, you are the central nervous system of the 0to9 ecosystem. You won’t just be "managing" data, you will be the architect and guardian of the data strategy for our entire portfolio. Your main focus will be to: Take full responsibility for the data operations and infrastructure across all portfolio companies within the 0to9 group. Design and implement a scalable, unified data architecture (warehousing, ETL/ELT) that serves both current and future ventures. Act as a "Internal Consultant" to our portfolio CEOs and Product leads, helping them translate their business goals into data-driven roadmaps. Ensure high data quality, security, and compliance across the group, making sure we are "investor-ready" at all times. Standardize how we use data so that a success in one venture can be analyzed and replicated in the next. We need a leader who can balance high-level strategy with deep technical execution. You are someone who enjoys the complexity of looking after multiple moving parts at once. We believe you have: Experience managing data operations for multiple products or business units simultaneously. Expertise in SQL, Python, and the modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, or similar). The ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical founders and stakeholders across the group. You hate doing the same thing twice.
