ABOUT THE TEAM
The Data Foundations team drives Data Engineering and Data Apps and Tooling work across Stripe, enabling Stripe employees to
leverage data to make informed decisions and build user-centric products. We provide tools and infrastructure to move, store,
process, and analyze data, both at rest and in motion.
Revenue and Finance Automation—The Revenue and Finance Automation (RFA) suite gives businesses power over the entire life cycle of
their cash flow. By coordinating billing, tax, reporting, and data services in one modern stack, the Revenue and Finance
Automation suite eliminates the inefficiencies of legacy finance tools and supports revenue growth.
Data Engineering Solutions—We are experts in data, working to make it cost-effective, understandable, and trustworthy. We build
pipelines processing billions of events a day and are stewards of canonical data warehouses and datasets delivering products for
Stripe users while embedding with teams to build their data products. We are experts in using the Stripe Data Platform and to
scale we lead the data culture and data education to enable product teams to own their data. We invest in AI Data Ops to scale
incident handling and serve as an escalation path for data incidents to minimize their impact. The Data Engineering Solutions team
will work closely with product teams delivering trustworthy data, backend code, and innovative AI tools, platforms, and services
for data.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Software Engineer, you'll design and build platforms and system solutions that are configurable and scalable around the
globe. You'll partner with many functions at Stripe, with the opportunity to both work on financial platform systems, as well as
direct user-facing business impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across engineering teams at Stripe.
Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large scale.
Maintain a collaborative environment, engaging in discussions and decision-making processes with stakeholders within various
domains at Stripe.
WHO YOU ARE
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
4+ years of experience in delivering, extending, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems
Love to design systems that are elegant abstractions over complex patterns and practices, especially in the financial industry.
Hold yourself and others to a high bar when working with production systems.
Take pride in working on projects to successful completion involving a wide variety of technologies and systems.
Think about systems, services, and platforms, and write high-quality code.
You have great product taste and a track record of taking complex problems and solving them elegantly.
You are capable of working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and have a curiosity to learn the domain to a deep level.
Enjoy working with a diverse group of people with different expertise.

As a software engineer with a backend focus, you will work with your team to build infrastructure and products for the Databricks
platform at scale.
The impact you'll have:
Our backend teams span many domains across our essential service platforms. For instance, you might work on challenges such as:
* Problems that span from product to infrastructure including: distributed systems, at-scale service architecture and monitoring,
workflow orchestration, and developer experience.
* Deliver reliable and high performance services and client libraries for storing and accessing humongous amount of data on cloud
storage backends, e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Store.
* Build reliable, scalable services, e.g. Scala, Kubernetes, and data pipelines, e.g. Spark, Databricks, to power the pricing
infrastructure that serves millions of cluster-hours per day and develop product features that empower customers to easily view
and control platform usage.
What we look for:
* BS (or higher) in Computer Science, or a related field
* 2+ years of production level experience in one of: Java, Scala, C++, or similar language.
* Experience developing large-scale distributed systems.
* Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures.
* Good knowledge of SQL.

management to bring that delight through great user experience.

SQL Analytics Console: SQL Analytics is a new product that provides Databricks customers with a first-class experience for
performing Business Intelligence (BI) and running SQL workloads directly on the data lake. Our team builds the "console" for SQL
Analytics, where users configure, manage and monitor their SQL usage.
Jobs and Workflows: This team powers all asynchronous customer workloads for Databricks which is the majority of Databricks usage.
As this usage has rapidly increased - we've rearchitected the system for increased stability and scalability. We are also building
exciting new features for more advanced workflows and customer observability. This team has a mix of frontend, backend, and
reliability engineering skills & projects.
Developer Ecosystem: The developer ecosystem team focuses on the development experience and best practices using tools outside of
the workspace. We own and govern the core developer ecosystem open-source components: the SDK, the CLI, and Terraform.
Apps Developer Experience - This is the team that makes developing Apps on Databricks delightful and easy. We have built an SDK
and services for app developers - AppKit. Our Codegen sub-team builds tools that enable agents to generate Apps that work first
time. We're currently. working on an MCP server for Cursor/Claude Code and are working on Skills.
What we look for:
* BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, or a related field
* 2+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
* Passion for user experience and design and a deep understanding of front-end architecture
* Comfortable working towards a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables
* Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, VueJs/Ember)
* Strong familiarity with server-side web technologies (eg: Nodejs, Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++,Go, JVM)
* Good knowledge of SQL
* Experience with cloud technologies, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes
* Experience in architecting, developing, deploying, and operating large scale distributed systems
